How to start the quest
First of all, go through the story mission called “Beasts of Prophecy”. When you visit Vanaheim again, you will be given a side quest “The Smell of Survival”, which will lead you to a new area – the Crater. Then move to its northwestern part and interact with the Sky Altar to change day to night.
Now move to the south of the Plains to find a passage to the Jungle, as shown in the two screenshots below. Head to the southwestern part of the location until you reach the dam, where you will receive the “Return of the River” request. Pass it so that water returns to the river.
Go east of the Plains, go through the huge archway and climb down the rope to reach the Wells. Walking a little forward to the caves, you will feel tremors. After that, the task you need immediately starts.
How to find the source of oscillation
Start going deeper into the Wells by following the quest marker. Get to the circular area where you can see another dragon, and then open the gate on the right side and move forward along the linear path.
Go even further, deal with the enemies near the abyss, and then destroy the vines with purple arrows and chaos blades so that you can get across the hole.
Climb through the narrow tunnel and you will encounter a creature that causes earth tremors – a dragon named Puffer.
How to kill Puffer
The boss can deal quite a bit of damage with his strikes, however most of them have nice long prepare animations, making it easy to dodge them. Most often, he makes unblockable bites and tail attacks that break the block (can only be parried). His most deadly strike is a stomp and a direct shock wave – jump to the side to dodge it.
Immediately after spawning, the Puffer will dash towards you – dodge it to avoid taking damage. Next, pay attention to the two yellow marks on the front legs of the monster. You need to hit them with spears (they will turn red) and then blow them up. As a result, the enemy will be knocked down, and you will be able to attack him with impunity for 5-10 seconds. We recommend that you use all your runic attacks, abilities and companion skills at this very moment to inflict maximum damage on the dragon.
When the boss is below half health, he will start performing his Unblockable Attacks two or even three times in a row, so after the first dodge be Ready to do some more dodges.
Having dealt with Puffer Tooth will complete the quest. As a reward, you will be given 4500 experience points for Kratos, 1125 experience points for Atreus, 2 teeth and 1 dragon claw, and a Greater Healing Essence (amulet enchantment).
