In Genshin ImpactA Chromatic Ode to Candy and Roses is the main event of Update 5.1, taking place in Sumeru. During it, you will be able to participate in various mini-games, earning Festival Frenzy and receiving various rewards. The latter include the Epic Heroine Kandakia and Primogems.
In this guide, you will be able to learn how to start this event and complete its challenges to receive all possible rewards. We have covered all the activities in separate guides, which are linked.
How to Start the Chromatic Ode to Candy and Roses Event
This event started on October 23, 2024 and will last until November 7, 03:59 AM. Before you can participate in it, you will need to meet a number of conditions, namely:
- Reach at least Adventure Rank 20. We have provided some recommendations on how to increase this statistic in a separate article.
- Complete the story mission “Song of Dragon Freedom”.
- Complete the story quest “Akasha's Pulse and Kalpa Flame” (optional).
- Complete the world quests “The World of Aranaras” and “Food is a Happy Memory” (optional).
- Complete Saino's personal quest “The Golden Jackal. Chapter 2” (optional).
- Obtain the Bicorn Crown from the world quest “When the Light of Hvarna Manifests” (optional).
The final quests are optional, but they will give you a deeper insight into the story that will be told during the event. You can skip these quests by using the “Quick Start” option in the event menu. The content will then be unlocked gradually according to the schedule shown in the image below.
Event Quest Walkthrough
The event storyline consists of three chapters that will be opened gradually. Each stage will include a number of tasks.
A Surprise for Her
Head to Port Ormos, located in Sumeru, and meet your old friends on the lower level of the city. They will tell you that they want to give Nahida a surprise for her birthday. After the conversation, you will have access to all the challenges of the event.
Next, go to the other side of the settlement to help Kandakia with her shopping. Approach the first merchant who has a problem with the grill. Then go forward to the next stall. Along the way, Kandakia will save a girl from a fallen crate. You will learn that your friend can predict the future.
Now you will need to find Dory, who is also in this port town. Move to the teleporter at the top, and then jump down, and you will see the merchant you need talking to a client. Chat with her. This will end the mission.
A Candy for Her
First of all, wait until the next morning (08:00-10:00), and then go to the same place where you spoke with Dory earlier. You will learn that there were two gems.
Next, head to the crime scene located west of Caravan Ribat. After talking to Kandakia, start following her up the slope. You will learn that the caravan was transporting fireworks. Return to the transit point, where you will meet Saino.
Return to Port Ormos again and go to the center of the marked area to trigger a cutscene with Kaveh and al-Haytham. After talking to them, go to the meeting point at the local tavern, where you will meet Faruzan.
Next, you will need to pass the test with the flower carriage. You will need to move the carriage between the tracks in time to collect flowers and avoid vases. You will need to get to the end of the path. In the video below, we showed how to do this.
Then watch a funny scene with the arrival of Nahida. When it is completed, the task will come to an end.
All Event Challenges
In total, you will be able to participate in three exciting mini-games. Note that access to their various stages will open gradually.
Rushing Carriage
You will have to control a flower carriage, dodging obstacles and collecting flowers along the way to the goal. During the collection, you will also need to pick up various power-ups that will allow you to automatically collect nearby flowers, get bonus points and become invulnerable to debuffs from collisions. Intertwining Reality and Dreams
You will find yourself in various dreams of patients, which are full of distorted images. You will need to find and correct them, helping people correct psychological disorders. Do not forget to communicate with patients to study the details of their diseases. We talked about this challenge in more detail in a separate guide.
Shadow of the Knight's Sword
Filming of a movie about battles has begun, and you have decided to take part in it. You will need to complete combat trials in an allotted period of time, while completing certain objectives. By defeating enemies, you will gain points. We have described this trial in more detail in a separate guide.

Chromatic Ode to Candy and Roses Event Rewards
By completing the trials, you will receive various rewards, including Mora, Primogems, Experience Books, Magic Enhancement Ore, and other valuable materials for upgrading characters and weapons. Plus, you'll accumulate Festival Frenzy points that you can exchange for extra rewards.
How to Get Kandakia
You can get this 4-star Hydro heroine by collecting the required amount of Festival Frenzy – 800 points. This currency is given for completing the above-mentioned challenges. If you already have this character, you will open its Constellation or get 5 Wandering Starlights.
