Update 4.7 brought many innovations to the Genshin Impact game, one of the most interesting is the addition of a new 5-star playable hero – Clorinda. As you know, almost every legendary character has his own signature weapon, and Clorinda was no exception. In this guide, we'll take a full look at the new one-handed sword, Absolution. Let's find out how to get it and upgrade it, as well as who to give it to.
How to get “Absolution of Sins”
Absolution is a limited-time legendary one-handed weapon, meaning it can only be obtained from a limited-time weapon banner.Â
As of Patch 4.7 on June 5, 2024, Absolution can be obtained from the Weave of Eternal Sleep weapon banner. It is worth considering that it will only be available during the first half of the update.
Characteristics of the “Absolution” weapon
- Rarity: 5 stars
- Basic attack : 47 (level 1) – 675 (level 90)
- Critical damage bonus (in%): 9.6 (level 1) – 44.1 (level 90)
The sword's ability works as follows: when the active character's life debt effect increases, the damage they deal increases by 16%. This buff lasts 6 seconds and stacks up to 3 times. Also, it passively increases the hero’s critical damage by 20%, which in total will give us an increase of as much as 64% at level 90.Â
How to awaken “Absolution”
Awakening any weapon in Genshin Impact is necessary to level up a passive ability. Most weapons in the game require a duplicate to awaken, and the Absolution sword is no exception. To fully upgrade the passive sword skill, we need 4 copies and 30,000 mora.
As you can see from the picture, a bonus to the damage dealt by the character increases by 16/20/24/28/32%, that is, when fully awakened, we will receive 2 times more additional damage from a passive ability.
How to upgrade “Absolution”

The echo of an ancient string
All kinds of echoes of ancient strings come out of the Echoes of Deep Tides dungeon, this dungeon can be found right above the Cour de Fontaine, and the exact location is indicated in the image below. It is also worth taking into account that this type of loot is issued only on Monday, Thursday and Sunday.

All seneschal watch rarities are dropped from frost or wind operatives and can be tracked using the adventure book.

Gears drop as loot from a wide range of enemies, namely all meks and special meks, so collecting this resource will not take much time.
Which heroes are suitable for “Absolution”
As of patch 4.7, the Absolution sword is only truly suitable for Clorinda because, unlike the Harlequin Spear, the sword does not impose life debt with its abilities. However, one interesting scenario where you can effectively use Absolution on any character using a one-handed sword is when fighting Wind or Frost Operators. They impose a life debt, which encourages the activation of the weapon's passive ability. Now let's look at the heroes on whom Absolution fits best.

How to effectively use Absolution
The mechanics of the sword are quite simple, but require the hard to obtain life debt debuff. At the moment, the only hero who uses a one-handed sword and is able to apply this debuff to himself is Clorinda. Let's look at how to properly use this weapon on her.
Clorinda imposes a life debt equal to 80% of the healing, so it is important to stock up healers for the team. Kokomi or Barbara would be great options, as they heal long enough and don't require switching to themselves. Then everything is simple: press the healing abilities of the supports, switch to main damage dealer Clorinda, use her elemental skill and perform 2-3 normal attacks. The life debt will activate, and then the sword's passive will trigger. As soon as the treatment is over and the life debt subsides (press E-shka again), press the ult – it will update the debuff we need so much. Do it all over again.
