There are more than 100 bosses in Black Myth Wukong, including optional and secret ones that are not so easy to find.
For each boss, especially the Yaoguai Kings, you can get valuable rewards, as well as achievements needed to complete the game in platinum.
Where to find and how to kill all the bosses of Black Myth Wukong, you can find out in our guide.
You can also see the detailed location of all important opponents on this interactive map.
Chapter 1: All Bosses of Black Wind Mountain
Cattleman: Yaogua Chieftain
The first major enemy you'll encounter early in the game is the Guardian Bull. To find him, follow the road from the Near Hills point in the Wolf Forest until you reach a wooden bridge. Cross this bridge and continue running forward. At the end of this road, turn left and you'll immediately see the Yaoguai Chieftain – the Cattleman's Guardian Bull.
How to beat the Herdsman
The Herdsman is capable of delivering fairly heavy attacks, but leaves quite large gaps between them. Use this moment to have time to dodge and deliver blows. The Herdsman is constantly on the move, so we recommend you use the target lock.
When the boss's health is reduced to half, a cutscene will begin in which the Guardian of the Mountain will teach you the first spell – “Immobilize”. With its help, the battle should end rather quickly.
Rewards
After defeating the Yaoguai, you can get the following items:
- Will x395
- Yarn x2
- Spell “Immobilization”
Guan-zhi: Chieftain of the Yaoguai
After exploring the Wolf Forest location, you will find another teleportation point – Forest (outside). To find the next enemy, follow forward from this save point, turn left at the first turn and immediately go right.
Run forward until you come across a chest. Take the materials from it and go further along the bridge, to the left of the chest. Then run along the path lit by torches, it will lead you straight to the arena with the next boss – Guan-zhi.
How to defeat Guan Zhi
Prepare in advance for this rather difficult fight. We advise you to stock up on Sparks, exterminating weaker mobs, and improve the spell “Immobilize” with their help.
Guan-zhi is a fairly fast boss, so heavy attacks will not be as effective against him, due to the long charge. Focus on light attacks and dodging the enemy's attacks.
In the screenshot, you can see Focus Points charging from a series of light attacks. Once the gauge is full, you can safely use a heavy attack without a time delay.
This boss uses attacks with fire damage, from which your hero can get the burning status.
To get rid of it, you need to roll on the ground several times, dodging. However, this method will not be entirely ideal, as it will reduce stamina.
For such cases, keep Cooling Powder in your inventory, which can be purchased at any altar.
Rewards
For killing this powerful enemy, you will gain access to the following rewards:
- Will x524
- Yarn x2
- Transformation spell “Red Tide”
Important: To avoid returning to this location later, hit the large bell located near the location of this fight to open the first of the secret bosses.
Wandering Wight
Return to the incense Forest (outside) and this time go forward, nowhere without turning. Soon you will reach a small bridge, from where you can see the boss in advance, walking between the trees.
How to defeat the Wandering Wight
Although the Wandering Wraith may come across you before Guan Zhi, it is recommended that you defeat the latter first to obtain the “Red Tide” spell. It is also recommended to reach at least level 10 before attempting to deal with the Wraith.
The Wandering Wraith can deal quite a lot of damage in one hit. The only thing you need to do is learn to determine the sequence of its attacks in order to dodge and strike in time.
This boss's primary attacks are various combinations of stomps, swings, punches, and a powerful head slam into the ground.
Try to keep the enemy off balance and deal as much damage as possible until they recover. Use Immobilize often, especially before the Wraith starts doing its powerful area attacks.
Rewards
After the battle with the Wandering Wight, you will be rewarded with the following items:
- Will of x688
- Oddity “Cat's Eye Beads”
- Spirit “Wandering Wight”
If you have not yet reached the Bamboo Grove location and have not received the necessary vessel, you will not be able to immediately absorb the spirit of the slain enemy. But you can do this later at any altar.
Ling Xuzi: The Yaoguai King
You can get to the necessary rest point from the place of the battle with the previous enemy, going down the dilapidated stairs directly to the Guanyin Temple. Activate the altar of the same name and enter the temple.
How to defeat Ling Xu-tzu
Before entering the arena, we advise you to stop at the altar of Guanyin Temple and craft a new set of Pilgrim's clothes for additional protection. This set can also increase attacks during acceleration, which will come in handy during this fight.
Try to attack the boss from behind to stop his attacks in time. The pillar stance is also great for fighting Ling Xuzi, helping to avoid his area attacks.
During the fight, the enemy can periodically move along the roofs around the battlefield. At this moment, expect his attack and try to dodge when the enemy jumps down.
Awards
After killing this Yaoguai King, you can get the following rewards:
- Will x693
- Yarn x3
- Material “Mind Grain”
- Gray Wolf Mask
Guangmou: Yaoguai Chieftain
Reach the next location Bamboo Grove, to the point Snake Path. Before going to fight the next bosses, go up the stairs in front of you, where the Wise Mentor will be waiting for you. He will offer to upgrade your bottle, with which you can now absorb the souls of slain Yaoguai. Return to the altar, interact with it and select the “Return Souls” option.
To find the next boss, turn left from the altar, jump down to the river through a pile of stones. This way you can shorten the path quite well.
Climb to the shore and run to the right. When you reach the bamboo grove, follow the path lit by lights straight to the next enemy – Guan-mou.
How to defeat Guan-mou
During the fight, Guan-mou will summon additional snake enemies that can deal poison damage, which will reduce your Health Points. Stock up on Purifying Powder before the fight to quickly get rid of the Poison status.
Once the boss's health is reduced to half, he will summon snakes that throw poison bombs. Stock up on a charged Red Tide for this time to continue the battle without taking damage or poisoning.
Rewards
As a reward for defeating this Yaoguai Chieftain, you will receive the following:
- Will x528
- Stone Spirit x1
- Iron Ox Blood x1
- Guangmou Spirit
There is also a second bell near the battle site that must be activated.
Baoligulan: Yaoguai Chieftain
From the previous point Snake Path in the Bamboo Grove location, again jump over a pile of stones on the left, straight into the river. This time, follow the current forward, without going ashore. Having reached a small lake, you will be able to see a huge toad from afar.
How to defeat Baoligulan
This optional boss attacks with his head, as well as his hind legs, which he uses quite unpredictably. It is better to attack the enemy from the front and, if possible, do not go behind him.
Using the Red Tide transformation spell will also help you defeat the toad, causing fire damage, which will greatly reduce his health points.
Baoligulan's attacks will mainly be ground-oriented, so you can avoid them with Pillar Stance.
Rewards
After the fight with Baoligulan, you will be rewarded with the following useful items:
- Will 395
- Yarn 2
- Material “Tadpole”
- Spirit Bao-li-gu-lan
Xiucai in White Robes: Character
Reach the next save point White Mist Marsh in the Bamboo Grove location. Go forward through the wooden gate and run down the dilapidated stairs, straight to the lake.
How to Defeat White-Robe Xiucai
The fight with this powerful enemy is divided into two different phases. Save “Red Tide” until the second part of the fight, where it will be very useful to you. Improve this transformation in advance by using Sparks. Also before the fight, we recommend that you equip the Gray Wolf Mask, which deals additional damage to enemies with little health left.
The normal combo attacks in the first part of the battle are quite easy to counter if you try to move sideways.
In the second part, in addition to transformation, be sure to also use the spell “Immobilize”.
Rewards
After completing the battle with Xiucai, you will receive the following rewards:
- Will 687
- Stone Spirit x1
- Jade Fang Material
The last bell to summon the hidden boss can be found in the cave to the left of the arena itself.
Secret Boss Venerable Elder Jin-chi: Yaogui King
In order to open this Yaogui King, you need to activate three bells located near the arenas of some bosses. Having reached the last bell, use it and you will automatically move to a new location – Old Guanyin Temple.
How to defeat the Venerable Elder Jin-chi
Before striking the last bell, make a new Dual Snake Staff and Snake Scale Armor Set, which will be available after defeating the previous enemy.
In battle, the Venerable Elder will resemble the Wandering Wight. However, it is distinguished by slower but stronger attacks, capable of only taking out all your health points in one hit.
Try to keep your distance and as soon as the Elder stops attacking, use this opportunity to deal damage to him. Try to use the “Immobilize” spell as often as possible, especially when the attacks start following one another.
Around the Venerable Elder, you can notice a lot of zombies that are in no hurry to attack you. But you can notice that they can heal your character if you try to kill them. However, they can play a cruel joke on you: as soon as the boss commands them, they will gather around you and start to explode.
As soon as half of the elder's health is reduced, he will begin to hover in the air and zombies, approaching him, will be able to heal the bossalmost to a full health bar. Try to kill all his assistants until they get close to him.
Rewards
After the fight with Jin-chi, you will be able to get the following new items in your inventory:
- Will 2000
- Artifact “Fire Cape”, which must be taken from the corpse hanging on the tree next to the last bell.
King Black Wind: King of the Yaoguai
You can get to the next boss from the place of the battle with Xiucai. Proceed deeper into the cave to the next altar Cave (inside), location Black Wind Cave.
From this point, just go forward, open the gate and go into the room where the next Yaoguai King – Black Wind – will be waiting for you.
How to defeat the Black Wind King
After the last fight with the hidden boss, you will be able to craft a new Bronze Armor Set and Bronze Staff of Clouds. Before the battle, also equip the Gray Wolf Mask.
Black Wind's attacks are quite difficult to dodge. He can turn into wind, and then, after a short time, suddenly attack.
Try to keep your distance and manage to dodge strong blows. Save all your spells for the last phase of the fight to deal with this yaoguai faster.
Rewards
Once you defeat the Yaoguai King, you will receive the following new items:
- Will x696
- Cloud Walk Spell
- Agate Vessel Oddity (found in the chest to the left of where the boss was waiting for you)
Black Guai Bear: Yaoguai King
This final enemy of the first chapter can be found at the top of the mountain, as the previous yaoguai said at the end of the battle.
Go further along the Black Wind Cave location from the place of the fight with the previous enemy, and activate the Bodhi Peak point.
The path to the top will be quite straight: just climb all the stairs leading to the very top.
How to defeat Black Bear Guai
Although the Black Bear is essentially another form of the Black Wind King, he is a stronger opponent. His attacks will also be strikingly different.
Use the “Agate Vessel”, found near the previous boss. This oddity is capable of giving a medium bonus to defense, which will not be superfluous in a fight with a bear.
In the initial phase of the battle, the Black Bear will hit your character with its paws. However, you can only attack it in response after several of its blows. Try to use light attacks so as not to waste precious time charging heavy ones.
In the final part of the battle, The Black Bear will transform into a burning ball. This transformation will make him temporarily invulnerable to any damage. Wait out this phase and prepare for an immediate attack after he turns back into a bear.
Also in the second part of the battle there will be new fire attacks that can cause burning. Use the artifact “Fire Cape”, received as a reward after the fight with the Elder, to minimize fire damage.
Rewards
As a reward for the battle with the final boss, you will receive special items:
- Will x990
- Yarn x5
- Silk x2
- Stone Spirit
- Yaoguai Grain
- Black-Gold Flame
- Mind Grain
- Relic “Greedy Eyes”
Red Long: The Yaoguai King
You can only gain access to this hidden boss after receiving a special item in the next chapter: Moon Scale. How to get Moon Scale and find Red Moon in the first chapter, read this guide.
How to defeat Red Moon
This dragon is an extremely difficult opponent for an unprepared player. We recommend finding him closer to the middle of the game and leveling up well before the battle.
Red Loon deals a lot of lightning damage. In order to remove the debuff, you will need Anti-Shock Powder in battle. You can make it at any incense altar.
Try to destroy the pots located on the moon's back to inflict even more additional damage. Do not forget to use spirits in battle, in particular the spirit Wandering Wight, effective against larger enemies.
Awards
As a reward for defeating the first boss of the Lun quest, you will receive the following items:
- Will x1374
- Yaoguai Grain x2
- Thunder Tail
- Boshan Incense Curiosity
The last two items must be taken from the golden chest that appears after the death of Red Lun.
The guide is in the process of being written…
