InThe Forge (Forging)Any of your armor or weapons start not from monsters, but from ore that you broke with a pickaxe. The more powerful the tool, the faster you move through the game: more ore, higher chance of rare finds, less time to farm. Therefore, your pickaxe is the main engine of your progress, and not just a piece of hardware for starting tasks.
The main types of pickaxes and what distinguishes them
In the game, pickaxes are divided according to two main characteristics: mining speed and luck bonus. Speed determines the pace of farming, and luck allows you to extract rare minerals needed for top recipes. Later, runes also come into play: pickaxes with empty slots can be strengthened, adjusting them to your playstyle.

Starting pickaxes
Stone Pickaxe
Your first tool that is issued automatically. Only gets the starting stones. There are no bonuses, the power is minimal. Good for exactly the first ten minutes.

Bronze pickaxe
First purchase from Fred's shop in Stonewake's Cross. Tiny power upgrade. In the long term, it is of no value.

Iron pickaxe
Initial balanced option. Its power is enough to complete early quests. Gives a little luck, but does not open significant horizons.

Early pickaxes stage
Golden Pickaxe
The first tool that gives a noticeable bonus to luck. Convenient if you want to knock out rare crystals a little earlier than other players. The power is still not enough.

Pickaxe Stonewake
This is the very pickaxe with which the real game begins. Yes, it swings slowly, but its damage is high, and with it you can break almost all the boulders in the starting area.

Mid-game pickaxes
This is where the serious mining begins, and the choice of pickaxe determines whether you can mine from basalt rocks.
Cobalt Pickaxe
The cheapest in Forgotten Kingdom (Forgotten Kingdom). It works noticeably better than the starting ones, but is limited in power. Suitable if at least some versatility for little money is important to you.

Titanium pickaxe
A little more powerful, with a nice chance of dropping valuable resources. A good working option.

Uranium Pickaxe
Higher power, slightly lower luck. Good if you want to quickly open dense stone, and not hunt for rare minerals.

Mithril pickaxe
The first pickaxe that reliably opens Basalt Veins. Easy, effective, with a solid increase in luck. For the middle game – one of the best investments.

Lightite pickaxe
Strong, fast and bright, but with only one slot for runes. Good, but not perfect. Allows you to speed up farming, but competes with pickaxes that have more flexibility.

Late game pickaxes
These pickaxes open the way to Volcanic Depths and allow you to mine the resources on which the entire endgame is built.
Magma pickaxe
High power and good luck. It can be found in Ashen Passage, and it gives you all the options for confident mining in volcanic caves.

Arcane pickaxe
The most versatile late game pickaxe. Three rune slots, great luck, good power. It is chosen by those who value the rarest materials. Unlocks after finding the Unknown Key and gaining access to Fallen Angel's Cave. The key can be found in the quest The Missing Guitar.

Demonic pickaxe
The most powerful pickaxe in the game. Its damage is a pass into any layer of volcanic depths. A little less luck than Arkanova, but sheer power makes up for it. Has three slots for runes. Created at the Altar of the Demonic Pickaxe.

How to understand that it’s time for you to change your pickaxe
If there is a stone in front of you that you cannot break, or mining has begun to take twice as long as usual, it means that you have long outgrown your current tool. In The Forge, capping power is a natural marker of progress. The deeper you go into the caves, the more often you will have to update your equipment.
You don’t have to chase every new tool – it’s important to understand what stage of the game you are at and what really limits your farming. If you feel that the pick is not pulling, then it’s time to change it. And there it’s not far to those very demonic depths in which mining begins to bring real income.
