In Dragon Age: The VeilguardRiddles are found both in missions and in the open world. Some of them are simple puzzles with a couple of obvious actions, while others are complex puzzles that require a lot of brain work. In this guide, we will consider the latter, indicating their locations and links to detailed solutions.
By solving such riddles, you will receive valuable rewards, including secret achievements, gold, unique equipment, the Overseer's power and access to secret rooms. We will add that some of these puzzles can be missed, so carefully explore the world.
Lighthouse and Crossroads
Statue Riddle
Already after the first arrival at the Lighthouse, which is a kind of hub in the game, where you will constantly return after completing key missions, you can take on the solution of the puzzle with the statues to open a portal to a secret area. However, you will be able to carry out the final actions only after completing the quest “Shadows of Corruption”, as well as joining the team of Emmrik and Taash.
By doing this, you will be able to get 500 units of Overseer's power and unlock the achievement “Like in the Old Days”. We have told you more about this in a separate guide.
Puzzle with statues in Evenan's Shelter
In the northwestern part of Elvhenan Haven, you can find a dilapidated bridge that leads to the elven ruins. To unlock the passage, you will need to solve the puzzle with the statues by turning them in the right directions. After crossing the bridge, you will find chests with armor for Bellara and Harding, as well as an altar of the Evanuris. Detailed information can be found in our separate article.
Arlathan Forest
The Crystal Riddle
When completing the story mission “In the Grip of Entropy”, helping Bellara find an elven artifact, you will find yourself in front of a locked door. To open it, you will need to find the second crystal. We described how to do this in detail in a separate guide.
How to break through the filth
During the main quest “The Singing Blade” you will find yourself at a dead end on a cliff, as the passage will be blocked by filth. You will have to destroy it to move on, but to do this you will first need to find another filth hidden in secluded corners. You can learn more about this from our separate material.
The Broken Bridge
While in the Jagged Ruins location and going east, you can find a passage blocked by a blue magical barrier. To remove it, you will need to use crystals and projectors. Then you will be able to restore the bridge. Having done this, you will be able to go to a new area and take on the quest “Magic of the Ancients”. We have described this in more detail in a separate guide.
Hossberg Bog
The Riddle with the Guardian Statues
When visiting the Hossberg Marsh location, near the Guardians' camp, you will be able to find three statues located next to a dilapidated tower covered in fel. To access the chest hidden in the tower, you need to solve a riddle by turning the statues to the correct position. You can read more about this in our separate guide.
Gaspin Manor Statue Puzzle
As part of the Academic Interest quest, you will be able to get to Gaspin Manor, located in the Hossberg Marshes. Having made your way deeper into the estate, you will find another puzzle with guardian sculptures, solving which you will be able to unlock a shortcut between different areas. We talked about this puzzle in more detail in a separate guide.
Rivain Coast
The Clifftop Skull and Brazier Riddle
The puzzle area is located near the Clifftop fast travel location. The cave itself with hidden treasures is located at the northernmost point on the map of the area. Near the blocked entrance, you can see six skulls that give a hint to solve the riddle. In total, you need to light 3 torches in a certain order, which depends on the number of skulls located nearby. We described how to do this in a separate article.
The riddle with the sculptures of the guardians
You can find the guardian sculptures by reaching the fort in the Clifftop location. The guards will be on the lower floor in the hall, behind three arches. As usual, you will need to rotate the statues correctly to get to the chest with the Great Griffin Helmet. We have provided detailed information on how to solve the puzzle in a separate article.
Tidal Flats Brazier Puzzle
You can only get to this Rivain Coast location via Taash's quest “The Lair of the Dragon King”. You will find four torches scattered around the area. To get the reward, you must light all four braziers within a limited time. You can light them randomly, but as quickly as possible.
As a result, you will be able to open the passage to the secret cave. Inside there is a large chest containing a unique armor for Taash and a memorable item “Tirdda Bright Axe”. We have described the solution to the puzzle in more detail in a separate guide.
