In The Forge (Forging) Armor is extremely important a role no less than a weapon, because good armor can protect your character from damage and increase his maximum health, allowing him to withstand even the deadliest enemy attacks. However, due to the large number of different types of armor, it can be quite difficult to know which ones are best suited for your hero.
In this guide, we will indicate all the types of armor in the game, show the basic characteristics of the equipment and tell you how to forge it, giving some useful tips. At the end, we will list the best armor recipes for the initial, middle and late stages of passage.
All types of armor in The Forge
At this point in time, there are 15 armor options in The Forge, which can be divided into three types:
- Helmet
- Chestplate
- Greaves (Leggings)
At the same time, they can also be divided into three main classes:
- Light armor – used at the very beginning of the game, when you still don’t have enough resources. It's quick to create and costs little, but provides minimal protection.
- Medium armor is the best choice for the midgame, when you need stronger armor, but without having to spend a lot of rare ore.
- Heavy armor – great for the late game, where bosses and other strong opponents are encountered. Provides maximum protection and excellent buffs, but requires a lot of rare ore.

The tables below show all types of armor in the game. We've also shown their base stats, drop rate, selling price, and the approximate amount of ore needed to craft them.

Let us add once again that the table shows exactly the basic parameters of the armor, which can noticeably change for the better when using rare materials with unique effects and ideally completing mini-games during forging. Plus, your race should be taken into account. For example, a mobile Angel will need armor that further increases his mobility, while a Golem, on the contrary, will need equipment with maximum protection.
How to forge armor in The Forge
Let us immediately note that we have described in detail the mini-games during forging and the effect of ore on the result in a separate guide. Here we will touch upon the creation of armor. First of all, get the ore you need, and then go to any forge (the one in the first world will do) and interact with the crucible to open the forging menu.

Then select the “Armor” section and Place three or four types of different ores you have in your inventory into the empty slots below. Note that the more different materials you add, the higher the likelihood of getting heavier armor. The rarity of the ore used will affect the quality of the forged equipment.

To complete the forging process, you will need to go through three mini-games: blowing bellows to smelt ore, pouring liquid metal into a mold and giving it the desired shape with a blow of a blacksmith's hammer. Again, we covered all of these challenges in detail in our forging guide, so we advise you to familiarize yourself with it.

By completing all mini-games, you will see the stats of the forged armor, which will then be added to your inventory. Next, you have to decide whether to sell it for money or improve it with runes and essences for personal use.

General tips for forging high-quality armor
At first glance, it may seem that there is nothing complicated in making armor, but in reality, the quality of the finished equipment is influenced by a considerable number of factors. Therefore, we decided to list a few tips and tricks that will allow you to craft stronger armor in the game without wasting time trying again:
- Try to use high rarity ore, such as Demonite and Darkryte, to increase your chances of getting armor with increased parameters.
- Never combine low and high rarity ore (for example, uncommon and mythical), as the likelihood of getting a good copy will immediately decrease sharply.
- Try to put as much ore as possible if you want to get heavier armor, such as Samurai, Knight or Dark Knight.
However, to truly obtain the best armor, you will need to use certain recipes that include specific ores in fixed quantities. Below we have listed all the most interesting options.
Recipes for the best armor in The Forge
The best armor at the beginning of the game
Of course, already at the initial stages you want to have more or less strong protection. Ores of epic rarity can provide it. However, don't expect any additional properties from them. The table below shows the recipes.
| Armor type | Recipe | Characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| Breastplate |
| Protection: 134 units |
| Greaves |
| Defense: 117.8 units |
| Helmet |
| Defense: 98.7 units |
Best mid-game armor
At this stage, you most likely won't have a magma or arcane pickaxe with which you can mine the rarest ores, so you will still have access to the most powerful types of armor. However, you can easily make excellent options from legendary and epic level materials, and even get some good effects.
| Armor type | Recipe | Characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| Breastplate |
|
|
| Greaves |
|
|
| Helmet |

Note that the bonus from uranium does not stack when used in different types of wearable armor, so we recommend adding it only when making a helmet.
Best armor at the end of the game
This is where things get a little interesting as you can either go defensive or speed and dodge. Let's start with the first option, since it is considered more traditional. So, with access to mythical ore, you can craft incredibly durable armor that will not only provide maximum protection, but will also deal additional burning damage to enemies. The best recipes are listed below.
| Armour Type | Recipe | Characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| Breastplate |
|
|
| Greaves |

| Helmet |

If you want to sacrifice protection, but at the same time significantly increase your movement speed by turning into a local Flash, then we recommend that you create end-game armor from Lightite. However, it will still provide you with good protection. The table below shows all the best recipes.
| Armor Type | Recipe | Characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| Breastplate |
|
|
| Greaves |
|
|
| Helmet |

We would like to add that this armor set goes perfectly with races that have innate bonuses to movement speed, for example, Shadow and Angel. Using this set, you will be able to move extremely quickly through locations and easily dodge enemy attacks, easily going behind them and dealing damage without fear of receiving retaliatory blows from them.

This is all the useful information about armor in The Forge. We hope that it will help you choose the best armor sets for yourself that will provide you with the necessary protection and useful effects.
