In Genshin ImpactAwakening is a Natlan world quest and part of the Tremors of Tonatiuh quest chain. During it, you will first have to track down an evil dragon, then defeat it and talk to it. At the end, you will need to find answers in Och-kan's memories and receive a golden petition. If you have difficulties returning to the crater and completing the quest, then study our guide.
Walking through the Awakening quest
How to start the quest
Access to it opens automatically immediately after completing the previous quest in the chain called “Beyond the Sky”. So just open the mission log and start tracking the desired quest. If this does not happen, then try logging out of your account, wait 20-30 minutes and log back in.
Note that if you accidentally went to another location, it’s not a problem. Just move to the teleporter at the top of Ochkanatlan (see screenshot below), then turn into a cornucopia and start flying to the island in the northwest. The energy of the saurian should be enough for you to fly to the crater without any problems.
How to Track the Evil Dragon
Start descending to the bottom of the crater, gliding with your character or cornucopia. Once at the very bottom, run deep into the cave, following the fiery stripes on the ground. Soon you will find yourself in a spacious dungeon. Activate the teleporter and continue moving forward until a new cutscene begins.
How to Defeat the Evil Dragon (Och-kana)
You will learn that Coco and the evil dragon are Ochkan, the former ruler of Ochkanatlan. He will ask you to free him from the curse by defeating the monster. After the cutscene ends, the boss battle will begin.
Let's note in advance that the battle with Och-kan is in many ways reminiscent of the battle with the Golden Flame Tyrant Cucuzaurus, but there are several striking differences. First, the enemy will sometimes go into charging mode, during which you need to hit him with elemental attacks (preferably with the Night Spirit characteristic) to quickly knock down his shield and knock him to the ground. Otherwise, he will perform a powerful area attack.
Secondly, Och-kan will also rise into the air, but will not turn into a phoenix like the Tyrant Kukusaur. Instead, he will start releasing a powerful laser from his mouth, while following the player. Use dashes to dodge this attack. Otherwise, the battle tactics will be quite simple – hit the enemy with any blows to quickly reduce his health.

How to find answers in Och-kan's memories
You will start controlling another character, and from the first person. Run forward, and then start viewing various memories from the past of the “evil dragon”. Then talk to the dragon sage, who will tell you the history of dragons.
After returning to reality, approach the dragon's body and pick up the Golden Petition from the ground. This will end the mission, as will the entire chain. As a reward, you will receive 250 adventure points, 30 primogems, 20 thousand mora, 2 hero books and 3 magic ore of enhancement. Plus, you will have access to the next quest “The Promise of the Chosen One”.
