In Genshin Impact, Bai Zhu is a 5-star character that belongs to the elemental Dendro and uses a catalyst in battle. In a squad, he can perform the function of an excellent support or a good sub-DD. In this guide, you will learn about his best builds, weapons and artifacts, as well as recommended commands for him.
Note: The Owner of Bubu Hut hasn't been officially released yet, so the data shown here is based on beta testing. We will update the guide as needed when the hero is available.
Bai Zhu Main Features
How to get Bai Zhu
In the second phase of patch 3.6 (starts on May 3), this character will appear in a banner, which will increase the chance of it falling out. Thus, it will be possible to get it only with the help of Prayers. Unfortunately, miHoYo has never hosted events where a 5-star fighter would be a reward, so you definitely won’t be able to get this catalyst for free.

Bai Zhu's advantages and disadvantages
With his abilities, he can heal and protect his allies, making it easier to fight bosses and other tough enemies. Its main advantages include:
- An extremely useful support for almost any Dendro squad, as it is able to not only heal allies alone, but also impose a shield on them (it will bring the greatest benefit in packs for Budding and its derivatives) and help in creating Dendro reactions, because thanks to the catalyst, all of its attacks deal elemental damage.
- The effectiveness of his healing and the strength of the shield depend on the maximum HP, which increases significantly when the hero ascends, which makes it much easier to create a balanced build of a hybrid support/sub-DD. If you need a pure support character, then it’s enough to upgrade just one characteristic.
- You can save food out of combat, since the character is able to heal allies by simply picking up some items while exploring locations.
- For To unlock its potential, it is not necessary to unlock the constellations, as well as put legendary weapons and ideal artifacts on it, which greatly simplifies the construction of its build for F2P players.
However, there were some disadvantages, many of which come straight from Bai Zhu's advantages:
- The shield is not very strong, so often breaks after one or two powerful enemy strikes. So it cannot provide stable interruption protection.
- Elemental Burst is quite expensive (80 units) and has a long cooldown (20 seconds), so it may require a high amount of Energy Regeneration.
- There are no really strong constellations that can dramatically improve the hero.
- It has relatively low base attack and defense values, so it is not recommended to use it as a main damage dealer.
- Suitable for use only in Dendro squads – in all other packs you simply won't be able to reveal all its capabilities .
- Significantly inferior to Nahid as a Dendro applicator. For example, his elemental skill has a cooldown of 10 seconds, during which Dendro Archon can use his skill twice (by tapping quickly).
Bai Zhu's Abilities
When performing a normal attack “Classic Acupuncture”, the character makes up to 4 shots with a catalyst in front of him, and when charged, he casts a short spell that deals area damage to Dendro and spends some stamina. When attacked while falling, it builds up energy and lands on the ground, attacking all enemies in its path and then dealing elemental damage in an area.
Explanation: The attacks look spectacular, but they hit lightly and not very far, so using it as a driver will be problematic, as this will reduce the overall damage of the squad.
In the case of using the elemental skill “Universal Diagnostics”, the character releases a flying spirit that attacks nearby enemies (up to 3), inflicting damage to Dendro. After performing three attacks or no mobs, he flies back and heals all heroes. Healing is based on Bai Zhu's max HP.
Holistic Restoration elemental explosion summons a Seamless Shield that refreshes every 2.5 seconds (Dendro absorbs damage at 250% efficiency). He also heals the active hero (healing amount based on Bai Zhu's max HP) and attacks enemies with ghostly arteries that deal damage to Dendro. Attacks occur when a new shield is created, expired, or destroyed.
Explanation: At skill level 10 and at 40,000 health, Bai Zhu's ult can on average provide an active character with 5-6 heals for 4-5 thousand health, which will keep almost any hypercarry alive even in the most difficult situations. As for the shield itself, it is not very strong, so you should not count on it much – its main task is to activate the treatment and impose Dendro status.
One cannot fail to mention the very useful passive talents of the owner of the Bubu Hut ”, namely:
- Benefit of Herbs – Gathering certain items (mostly plants) restores health to the active hero in the amount of 2.5% of Bai Zhu's maximum life bar.
- Eternal Cycle of the Elements – If the hero's health bar is below 50%, then he receives a 20% bonus to healing, and if above, then a 25% bonus to Dendro damage.
- Everything is born of the earth – characters healed by Seamless Shield receive the Year of Green Benefit effect, where every thousand points of Bai Zhu's maximum health (calculated up to 50 thousand HP) increases the damage of their reactions by 2% (Blossom, Budding, Vegetation and Burning) and 0.8% (Growing and Aggravation) for 6 seconds.
Bai Zhu Constellations
To open them, you need the Luck of the character, which is issued in the event of the loss of duplicates of the hero, which, of course, is random. Given the low drop rate of 5-star characters, it will take you a lot of money and time to unlock all the constellations. However, even without them, Bai Zhu can play the role of a support perfectly.
If you have enough resources to open constellations and want to strengthen the character as a sub-DD, then try to unlock C2 and C6, which increase Dendro's damage and increase his healing abilities as a bonus. The entire list of constellations is shown below.
- Close Watch – Increases the number of elemental skill charges by 1.
- Sharp Insight – Creates a flying spirit: slash when hitting enemies with an active hero that Deals Dendro damage equal to 250% of Bai Zhu's attack power and heals allies for 20% of E-shki's healing. The effect can occur once every 5 seconds.
- Stabilization of Eight Aspects – Increases the elemental explosion level by three. Maximum level: 15th.
- Ancient art of perception – after using the ultimate, the mastery of the elements of all team members increases by 80.
- Latent currents – the level of elemental skill increases by three. Max level: 15.
- Remove Malicious Energy – Increases the damage dealt by ghostly arteries by 8% of the hero's maximum health. Hitting enemies with a flying spirit creates a seamless shield.
How to play as Bai Zhu
We are talking about a universal support, which in a team playing through Reaction Dendro can fill several roles at once: healer, shielder and applicator. With it, you can heal allies, quickly inflict Burning, Stimulate or Budding and buff them, protect the active hero, and even deal relatively good damage.
Even so, he won't take much time from a main damage dealer, since Bai Zhu's main ability doesn't require him to be on the battlefield. The rotation is not much different from whether you use this hero as a support or a sub-DD. It looks like this:
- First, use Bai Zhu's elemental skill to heal the squad and apply the Dendro status to opponents (this step can be skipped if the characters are at full health and you do not need energy for the ult).
- Use the abilities of other supports and sub-DD , giving buffs and inflicting statuses from your pocket.
- Use Bai Zhu's ult to get a shield and activate the healing process.
- Switch to main-DD to deal basic damage to enemies. While under the effect of the shield and constantly healing, he does not have to worry about enemy attacks.
Such a rotation is also suitable for hypercarries like Saino or al-Haytham, who should be on the battlefield almost all the time. In this case, Bai Zhu can only be released to apply an elemental explosion on cooldown.
Best Bai Zhu builds
Support
The easiest build to create, since basically you will only need to increase the HP and energy recovery (to use the cooldown ult) of the character. The following catalysts can be used as weapons.
Name and rarity | Stats (level 1 -90) | Passive |
---|---|---|
Splendor of the Azure Vault (5 Stars) | HP: 10.8~49.6% Basic Attack: 46~608< /p> | When using an ult or shielding, the equipped hero gains the status of a Willstone for 3 seconds, during which 4.5 units of energy are restored to him every 2.5 seconds, and the damage bonus of the corresponding element increases by 0.3% for every thousand points of maximum health (Maximum may increase by 12%). The effect occurs even if the character is in the pocket. A signature for Bai Zhu that empowers him to cast Elemental Burst more frequently, increases his HP by increasing his healing and shield, and increases his damage dealt. Therefore, both support and sub-DD can use this catalyst. |
Eternal Moonlight (5 Stars) | HP: 10.8~49.6% Basic Attack: 46~608< /p> | Increases healing bonus by 10-20% and normal hit damage by 1-3% of the hero's maximum health. After using the ult for 12 seconds, all normal hits on the enemy restore 0.6 units of energy. A good option for both support and sub-DD as a driver. The former gains a significant boost in healing abilities, while the latter will be able to deal much more damage with normal attacks while permanently inflicting a Dendro status on enemies. |
Dragon Slayer Epic (3 Stars) | HP : 7.7~35.2% Basic attack: 39~401 | When changing hero, increases the active character's attack power by 24-48% for 10 seconds. The bonus occurs every 20 seconds. Another good free weapon for a support to buff Bai Zhu's main damage and healing abilities. True, the lack of energy will have to be compensated with artifacts. |
Prototype: Amber (4 stars) | HP: 9~41.3% Basic attack: 42~510 | Restores 4-6 energy every 2 seconds after using the ult for 6 seconds. Regenerates 4-6% health for all team members every 2 seconds. Great free option for a support, increasing his healing and defensive abilities, as well as providing additional energy needed to cast an ult on cooldown. |
Code Favonia (4 stars) | Energy Regen: 10~ 45.9% Basic Attack: 42~510 | Critical hits have a 60~100% chance to spawn elemental particles that restore 6 energy. The effect appears once every 12~6 seconds. Allows you to solve the problem of energy accumulation not only for Bai Zhu, but for the entire pack as a whole. However, you will have to gain more crits and HP from artifacts. |
As for artifacts, we advise you to take two incomplete sets for support, which allow you to ult more often and enhance the hero's buffs:
- Millelite's Fortitude (or Sweet Dew Radiance): 2 parts – Increases HP by 20%. Can be obtained from the Mountain Watch dungeon.
- Emblem of Sundered Fate: 2 pieces – Increases your energy regeneration rate by 20%. Dropped from the Maple Hall dungeon.
If your weapon has no energy regeneration issues, you can combine Millelite's Fortitude (Sweet Dew Radiance) with two pieces of Sea Color Clam or Beloved Maiden, which increase healing by 15%. The first set can be obtained in the Dreaming Garden, and the second set in the Valley of Memories.
If you want to slightly increase Bai Zhu's personal damage, you can give him a full set of Nautical Color Clam. If all 4 parts are used, then when healing allies, the hero will begin to create bubbles of sea paints that fix the restored health points, and then explode, dealing damage to enemies in the amount of 90 percent of the calculated amount of treatment. A bubble can occur once every 3.5 seconds and lock up to 40,000 HP regenerated. Only one bubble can exist at a time. It occurs even when the character is not on the battlefield.
If we talk about the choice of the main characteristics for artifacts, then take the hourglass for HP (or the restoration of energy in case of its shortage), the bowl – for HP, the crown – for HP. The priority of choosing additional parameters is as follows: HP%, Energy Recovery%, Elemental Mastery.
Secondary DPS
It will be more difficult to assemble this assembly, as you will have to maintain a balance between the characteristics. We recommend getting an Elemental or Crit Mastery weapon to increase your damage output:
Name and rarity | Ability (level 1-90) | Passive |
---|---|---|
Azure Vault Splendor (5 Stars) | HP: 10.8~49.6% Basic Attack: 46~608 | When using an ult or shield, the equipped hero gains the status of a Willstone for 3 seconds, during which every 2.5 seconds he recovers 4.5 energy, and the damage bonus of the corresponding element increases by 0.3% for every thousand points of maximum health (the maximum can increase by 12%). The effect occurs even if the character is in the pocket. A signature for Bai Zhu that empowers him to cast Elemental Burst more frequently, increases his HP to increase his healing and shield, and increases his damage dealt. Therefore, both support and sub-DD can use this catalyst. |
Eternal Moonlight (5 Stars) | HP: 10.8~49.6% < /p> Basic Attack: 46~608 | Increases healing bonus by 10-20% and normal hit damage by 1-3% of the hero's maximum health. |
Thousand Nights Dreaming (5 Stars) | Skill Elemental: 58~265 Basic Attack: 44~542 | Increases the character's elemental mastery by 32 if there are fighters of the same element in the squad, or increases his elemental damage by 10% if the elements of other team members do not match. In addition, all party members (except for the one equipped with this weapon) have an increase in MS by 40 units. Grants a huge amount of Elemental Mastery, which will greatly enhance Dendro's reactions generated by Bai Zhu. |
Wanderer's Song (4 Stars) | Crit. damage: 12%~55.1% Basic attack: 42~510 | After switching to the character, a random melody plays, which can increase attack power (by 60 percent), elemental damage (by 48 percent), or elemental mastery (by 240 points). The effect lasts for 10 seconds and can appear once every half a minute. Almost all buffs will be useful to sub-DD, especially elemental mastery. The weapon will greatly increase Bai Zhu's personal damage output. |
Marine Atlas (4 stars) | Elemental Mastery: 24~110 Basic Attack: 42 ~510 | Increases elemental damage by 8%~16% for 10 seconds after triggering an elemental reaction. The bonus stacks up to two times. Another good option that a secondary damage dealer can use, as it increases Dendro's damage and MS. |
< p> Ceremonial Memoir (4 stars) | Elemental Mastery: 48~221 Basic Attack: 41~454 | When an elemental skill deals damage, it has a 40~80% chance to instantly restore its cooldown. The effect occurs every 30-16 seconds. Its main advantage is to provide Bai Zhu with a lot of MS. Passive, on the other hand, allows you to use E-shka much more often, with which the character can accelerate the accumulation of energy for the ultimate. |
Roaming Star (4 stars) | Elemental Mastery: 36~ 165 Basic attack: 42~510 | Every ten seconds, the character's attack power increases by 24%~48% of their elemental mastery, even when not on the battlefield. The effect lasts for 12 seconds, and nearby team members receive 30% of the bonus. The effect is stacked if other members of the group have this weapon. Increases the damage of the hero's abilities and gives a small buff to his allies. |
Magic Guide (4 stars) | Elemental Mastery: 41~187 Basic attack: 38~354 | Increases damage by 12%~24% when fighting enemies that are affected by Electro or Hydro elements. A free variant that can be used in both Stimulate and Bud commands. |
If we talk about artifacts, then we advise you to collect a full set of Memories of the Deep Forest, 2 parts of which increase Dendro's damage bonus by 15%, and 4 parts – in case of hit by an ult or elemental skill, reduce the enemy's resistance to Dendro damage by 30% for 8 seconds. The bonus is activated even if the character is not on the battlefield. It can be found in the Spire of Lonely Enlightenment dungeon.
If the entire set is not available, you can temporarily combine it with two pieces of Millelite's Fortitude (Sweet Dew Radiance), which will increase the character's maximum health by 20%, or Gilded Dreams (Wandering Ensemble, Flower of Lost Paradise), which will increase elemental mastery by 80 points. The latter can be obtained from elite bosses or the Spire of Lonely Enlightenment.
As for the main characteristics of the artifacts, take the hourglass for mastery of the elements (or restore energy if it is lacking), the goblet (chalice) – for the Dendro bonus damage, and a hat (crown) – for critical damage/critical hit chance in a ratio of 2 to 1 (or mastery of the elements). Among the additional options, choose HP%, Energy Recovery, Elemental Mastery, and Crits.
The best commands for Bai Zhu
