In Genshin Impact Between Promise and Oblivion is a quest chain in Natlan that allows you to better explore the Pyro region and its tribes. As part of it, you will have to save a cub by breaking rocks, open a barrier, search ruins, unlock a mechanism, go through lava and defeat Pakal. In this guide, we will tell you how to start this line, and provide links to complete all the quests.
How to start the chain “Between Promise and Oblivion”
Before you can start the first quest of this line, you will have to meet a couple of conditions, namely:
- Reach at least adventure rank 40.
- Complete the Archon quest “Flowers Under the Burning Sun”, which is the first chapter of the fifth volume of the main storyline.

Lost Children of the Forest
As part of the first task, you will need to defeat the Rift Hounds and chat with the giant beast, then break the rocks and save the cub. You need to choose a name for the cub and follow the Saurian companion. As a reward for completing this mission, you will receive 150 adventure points, 20 Primogems, 25 thousand Mora, and a Confirmed Naming Agreement. Ritual of the Brave
In the second quest, head to the Sacred Flame Stadium, then to the Children of Echoes tribe and chat with Manku. Move to the duel site and fight Pakal. At the end, talk to Manku again. As a reward for completing this mission, you will receive 200 adventure points, 30 Primogems, and 35 thousand Mora. A detailed walkthrough of the quest is presented in our separate material.
Revelations of the Past
Next, go to the ruins and install the talisman, then unlock the barrier and examine the ruins. You will need to activate the mechanism and study the drawing. Then continue the test and go through the lava. Deal with all the enemies and get the gift.
As a reward for completing this mission, you will receive 450 adventure points, 50 source stones, 50 thousand mora, 5 hero books, 4 units of magic ore of enhancement and the Cornerstone of Stars and Flames. A detailed walkthrough of the quest is presented in our separate material.
