In Genshin ImpactBeyond the Sky is a Natlan quest and part of the Tremors of Tonatiuh quest chain. During it, you will explore the sky city, collect burning firestones, take the Jade of Return, and restore it by solving several puzzles. Walkthrough of the quest “Beyond the Sky”
How to start the quest
Access to it opens automatically immediately after completing the previous quest of the chain called “Road to the Sky”. So just open the mission log and start tracking the desired quest. If this does not happen, then try logging out of your account, wait 20-30 minutes and log back in.
How to Return to the Legendary Tonatiuh in Case of a Fall
At the end of the previous quest, you will find yourself on floating islands, from which you can easily fall both at the beginning of the quest and while collecting fire stones. If this happens, you do not need to worry too much about it, since there is a teleport in the Legendary Tonatiuh, to which you can easily return (it opens automatically).
Explore Tonatiuh and Head to Bona
So, turn into a cornucopia, and then fly to the island in the northwest, where the already activated teleport is located. Next, fly to the large area further north while still in Saurian form and approach the pyrophosphorite to trigger a new cutscene.
Your Saurian companion will pick up the fire stone and walk towards the chasm. Follow him, then go to the console on the right and press the “Activate” button to create a light bridge. Approach the Saurian again and tell him to “Go!” Walk with him to the other side to Bona to start another cutscene.
Collect Burning Fire Stones
You will learn that you need a total of 4 fire stones to get to the very top. You have already collected one, so there are 3 more to go. We have shown their general locations on the map below. Below, we will tell you in detail how to get these items. Follow our instructions carefully so as not to get stuck later due to the inability to send the saurian to the altar.
First Burning Fire Stone (Northeast)
To collect the first Fire Stone, located on the northeastern floating island, cross the bridge to the right of the altar opposite Bona (see screenshot below), then take the elevator up.
Once up, walk forward a bit and your Saurian companion will appear on your left and start moving up. Open the regular chest, climb the ladder and approach your Tepetlisaur, who will be able to get past the stone gate into the room.
To get inside, turn right, go up the stairs and interact with the switch to activate the moving platforms. Start climbing them, collecting pyrocule along the way, and climb to the roof of the structure. Immediately after that, you will have to fight an automaton.
After defeating the enemy, climb the ledges and stairs to the top, open the rich chest and press another switch to open the grate just below. Now jump down to your Tepetlisaur.
Once at the bottom, open the gate by pressing the console, and then interact with your companion so that he starts walking towards the altar. You will need to simply follow the baby until he reaches the center of the location, where Bona is standing.
Second Burning Fire Stone (Northwest, Bottom)
Back at the altar, turn the mechanism of the floating island located to the right of Bona to create a passage leading to the northwestern island – cross the bridge to it. When your Saurian companion appears, follow him to the blazing flame on the pedestal, but as soon as you approach it, the guardian of the mysterious source will appear and take it.
Turn around, go to the cliff and transform into a cornucopia using the red transformation stone. Then fly to the other island to the passage where the pyrocole is hovering. Keep an eye on your phlogiston level, because if it runs out, you will start falling down. The gif below shows the whole process.
Once you reach the entrance, return to your normal form, enter the room and activate the switch to go down one level. In this case, the platform with the required fire stone will go down to the floor where you were just, that is, you need to go back.
After the cutscene ends, transform back into a Kukusaur using the stone and fly to the island ahead and to the right. Once you land, go right, examine the “Left Behind II” if you wish, and then start climbing the stairs up, opening a rich chest along the way. Enter the tower again to have your Saurian pick up the wisp. The gif below shows the entire process.
Go to the pedestal and press “Activate” to raise the platform up. Then ask the Tepetlisaur to return to the altar. Follow him until you reach the edge of the bridge. A cutscene will begin, during which Bona will change the location of the mechanism. Activate the lift to raise the bridge, and then interact with the baby again to have him carry the fire stone to the altar.
The third Burning Fire Stone (northwest, up)
Back at the altar, interact with the floating island mechanism located to the left of Bona (if you stand behind her) twice. This will rotate the entire structure, creating a dilapidated bridge to the next island in the northwest.
Run to the end of the bridge, click on the “Call Bona” sign so that she turns the platform again and, when the bridge starts to rise, wait until it is at an angle of 120 degrees and jump down from it to the next island. The whole process is shown in the gif below.
Once you get to the island, your Tepetlizaur will immediately appear, go to the fire stone and pick it up. Go to the baby and ask him to return to the altar. Suddenly, an automaton will appear, which you will need to defeat. After dealing with it, go down a little, open the precious chest and interact with the switch on the right to raise the bridge.
Then return to the Saurian companion and interact with him again to make him go to the altar. All you have to do is escort him to the center of the area.
Important: If when interacting with the Tepetlisaur it refuses to go, it means that you have not configured the bridge. In this case, you will have to go down and turn the mechanism until a yellow triangle with the ability to call Bona appears on the bridge facing the island you need, as shown in the picture below. Only in this case will you be able to call the elevator later while at the top.
Take the Jade of Return and Restore It
After collecting all the fire stones, go to the altar and start the offering. Then watch a short video in which the dragon steals the jade. After that, immediately turn into a cornucopia and start chasing the villain. In the first stage, you will need to simply fly after the enemy while your partner shoots at him.
Then the second stage will begin, where you will not only have to shoot the dragon, but also dodge its attacks and turret shots. In some places you will need to press the “Space” key. You will have to do this especially often at the end, when you catch up with the enemy, and Coco shoots him with a superlaser, knocking him to the ground. After watching the video, you will complete the task and receive a reward: 400 adventure points, 50 primogems, 30 thousand mora, 5 hero books and 4 magic ore of enhancement. Plus, you will have access to the next quest – “Awakening”.
