Bronze Castle in Genshin Impact: How to Find and Defeat

In Genshin Impact, the “Bronze Castle” is an elite enemy from the category of local legends of Natlan, which can be encountered on one of the hard-to-reach floating islands in Ochkanatlan. By defeating this dangerous mechanism in three different duels, you will unlock several achievements from the Duelist II collection.

From our guide, you will learn how to find, defeat, and get all the achievements for the battle with the Bronze Castle. We will tell you what attacks the mechanical legend uses and which units are suitable for victory.

Bronze Castle achievements: how to unlock them all

By meeting the following conditions while fighting the Bronze Castle, you will unlock three achievements:

• 1st Achievement (+5 Primogems): Defeat the Bronze Castle for the first time;
• 2nd Achievement (+10 Primogems): Defeat the Bronze Castle by shooting its core at least three times;
• 3rd Achievement (+20 Primogems): Defeat the Bronze Castle by enhancing its charged attack with four elements during the battle.

Remember that you can only unlock one achievement per battle. When you take on the last two, carefully monitor the conditions and, if you don’t have time before the legend is defeated, teleport away so you don’t have to wait 12 hours for him to respawn.

Where is the Bronze Castle

The Mechanical Legend is located on the high floating ruins with a teleporter in the east of Ochkanatlan, and there are several ways to get here. The easiest is to complete the target challenge on the island south of the end point (one of the Fire Flame Furnaces is here). Once you get here, go to the pool and, while in Koholosaurus form (or using Mualani), push the nearest yellow-orange target. There is no time limit for the challenge, the main thing is to hit all the targets.

Upon completion, a spiritual path, which leads straight to the ruins of the Bronze Castle. In addition to the legend, when you first visit this island, you will find one precious chest and a gold cloth to activate the furnace of fiery flame.

Battle techniques of the “Bronze Castle”

This legendary mechanical dragon uses the following techniques in battle:

• Melee

Foot stomp is activated if you get too close to the enemy.

Double head stomp is also used by the legend if your hero gets too close to him.

Tail Sweep is the final melee attack, during which the legend makes a sweeping slash in front of itself.

• Closing the Distance

The War Beast is quite slow, so it has several moves that close the distance with the opponent. For example, the legend jumps and lands at your location (at the moment of aiming).

Ramming acceleration helps the dragon catch up with the target and has a special feature – when it is activated, the core is used, which can be shot down and thus stun the enemy.

• Charged attack with bombs

A special move by the dragon, during which it absorbs the element of the attacker (or attacks geo) and releases a “rain” of elemental bombs (the legend absorbs no more than one element at a time).

Squads for the battle with the “Bronze Castle”

The most versatile squad, which is suitable for completing all achievements, should include:

• At least one archeror any hero capable of quickly knocking down the dragon's core;
• Consist of heroes of four different elements, attacking mainly with reactions.

In addition to being susceptible to damage from reactions, the dragon can be frozen, which means that packs of hydro+cryo characters are suitable for the battle with it. Below we will examine in detail the best combinations of units for the battle against the Bronze Castle.

• Epic units

From epic heroes (especially if they are not fully pumped) it is better to assemble squads from freezing:

• Keiyu (dd);
• Xing Qiu and Miku in support;
• Laila/Diona or Barbara for survivability.

For the last achievement, select those characters who can effectively impose on the legend of the status of its elements, for example [anemo+electro+pyro+hydro]:

• Heizo (DD);
• Ororon or Fischl (as a secondary damage dealer);
• Bennett as support;
• Barbara or Xing Qiu (bonus E-heal to Bennett's ultimate) to maintain the health of teammates and apply hydro status.

Bronze Castle can absorb any element, so the formation of the squad depends more on your preferences.

• Squads with legendary heroes

If you have Chaska on your account, it will be very easy for you not only to damage the enemy with a huge number of elements, but also to quickly dodge the bombardment. Furina's summons often hit the core with their attacks, so they are useful for a remote stun.

By surrounding Gan Yu with freeze-friendly supports (such as Ye Lan, Shen He, and Kokomi), you can literally stun the dragon core with charged shots in one hit and finish off the legend pretty quickly.

With the appearance of Mavuiki and Sitlali in the game, they can also be put in a pack with heroes like Raiden and Mualani – the archons will increase the damage of the main DD, and Sitlali will provide survivability and the imposition of the cryo status.

How to defeat the “Bronze Castle”

The best way to start a fight with any local legend is to use food buffs. Stock up on vials to enhance the main DD element, crits, and reduce stamina consumption (in combat, you will often have to dodge bombs or unexpected jumps/rams). The rest of the more situational tips are listed below:

• Shoot the core to immobilize the enemy.

If you don't get too close to the dragon, you can force it to cast its main attack almost after a blow: the enemy tries to close the distance with you (usually by jumping), and then uses a bomb attack. At this point, shoot down its core, deal damage to the lying target, and run away when it starts to get up – and do it all over again.

As shown in the video above, hitting the core is quite easy (even if you don't aim directly at the light source). The mechanism is immobilized long enough to knock off a decent amount of HP.

• Use units that play from damage reactions

The Bronze Castle, as has been said many times above, is well susceptible to damage from reactions: freeze, overload, steam, melting, bloom, etc. With squads that do not have a single repeating element, you will speed up your victory over the legend.

Tactics for getting the second achievement

The second achievement conditions mention a core – a source of light that begins to shine during a bombardment and ramming attack. It breaks with literally one attack, and is safest from a distance. If you immobilize the enemy at least three times during the battle, you will have the achievement in your hands.

The demonstration above shows how to shoot down the dragon's core at the moment when it begins to charge an attack with bombs.

When the enemy tries to ram our character, the core is also active. To break it at such a moment, support skills are suitable. For example, the video above shows how the core explodes from contact with Kuki's ticking ring, while the active hero successfully dodges the legend's attack.

Tactics for getting the third achievement

To complete the last achievement, you need to infuse the boss with different elements at least 4 times, that is, consistently hit with only one element until the bombardment begins. After making sure that the legend has dropped projectiles of the attacking element on you, switch to the next one and hit with it. You can do this at the very beginning of the battle, so that you can focus on dealing damage later.

How to repeat the fight with the “Bronze Castle”

Remember that the Bronze Castle respawns for as long as 12 hours after defeating it. If you notice that you do not have time to complete the conditions of some achievement before killing the mechanism, move away and return to try again, or ask to go to the world of another player.
