Yesterday afternoon, the official stream of update 3.0 for Honkai: Star Rail took place, during which the developers revealed a lot of new details about the patch, the release of which is scheduled for January 15, 2025 years. In this short article we will tell you the main details of this broadcast.
New Characters and Banners
As usual, let's start by looking at jumps. This time, the developers decided to provide players with 4 banners to choose from in one phase: one new and three reruns. It is not yet clear why the banner system was changed and whether it will remain the same in future patches. Still, there are noticeably fewer characters in Star Rail than in Genshin Impact, but the latter still only gives you two Prayers to choose from.
So, in the first phase, gamers will find the following 5-star characters:
- Great Gerta (Erudition: Ice) is a member of the “Society of Geniuses” and one of the authors of the Virtual Universe. She is a talented inventor with a very eccentric character, so she prefers not to communicate with people directly, using her dolls for communication.
- Jasper (Erudition: Quantum)
- Lingsha (Abundance: Fire)
- Feixiao (Hunt: Wind)
They will be joined by the following epic heroes: Asta (Harmony: Fire), Motse (Hunt: Electric), and Natasha (Abundance: Physical). In the weapon banner, you should expect signature cones of the above fighters: “Towards the Undeniable” (Erudition), “But Hope is Priceless” (Erudition), “I'm Going Hunting” (Hunt), “Only the Scent Remains” (Abundance), “Only Silence Remains” (Hunt), “Landau's Choice” (Preservation), and “Genius' Rest” (Erudition).

- Aglaya (Memory: Electric) is an important person on Amphoreus, whom the members of the Star Express will meet almost at the very beginning of their journey on the new planet.
- Boothill (Hunt: Physical)
- Robin (Harmony: Physical)
- Silver Wolf (Nonexistence: Quantum)
Along with them, the following 4-star characters will be rerun: Hanyi (Harmony: Physical), Tingyun (Harmony: Electric), and Sushan (Hunt: Physical). In the Sparkling Fixation, you can expect: “Time Woven into Gold” (Memory), “Fleeting Night Lights” (Harmony), “Sailing Away to a Second Life” (Hunt), “Incessant Rain” (Non-Existence), “Greetings from the Geniuses” (Memory), “More Subscriptions!” (Hunt), and “Dance! Dance! Dance!” (Harmony).
Let's add that a new path for Pioneer – Memory will finally be released, and the main character will begin to deal Ice damage. He will also be able to summon his own spirit, which will participate in battles and have its own characteristics.
New missions
The game's main storyline will continue with the release of the first chapter of the Amphoreus arc, which will be called “Tales of the Flame-Chasing Heroes.” Within it, players will be able to get acquainted with the main factions of the “Eternal Land” and its main representatives, as well as learn what their main conflict is.
Of course, players will find a lot of additional tasks, secret quests and assignments that will unfold on the territory of the new world. They will allow you to delve deeper into the lore and history of the planet.
New locations
As promised earlier, the developers will finally add a completely new planet to the game – Amphoraeus. Unlike other worlds, here the region will be divided into several cities with their own architecture and factions. The following locations will be available at first:
- The Eternal Sacred City of Ochem
- The Ruins of Discord of the Kremnos Castrum
- The Bloody Battlefield of the Kremnos Castrum
- The Vortex of Creation
- The Pool of Fate of Janusopolis
Naturally, on the territory of these locations you can find over a hundred new chests, a lot of different puzzles and other activities that will be interesting to solve and explore, receiving all sorts of rewards.
Deserves special mention Vortex of Creation, which is a kind of store. By collecting special items, you can increase the level of this vessel, thereby receiving various rewards, including Constellations for the Pathfinder (Memory).
New enemies
On the new planet, players will encounter new enemies, including elite enemies. For now, they will be associated with the titan of discord. Their exact characteristics are still unknown, but you can see their appearance.
New relics
A new corrosion cave, “The Path of Singing with Accompaniment”, will appear on the territory of Amphoraeus, where you can get two new sets of artifacts, namely:
- Epic Hero: 2 parts – increases the attack power of the wearer; 4 parts – increases the owner's speed when their Memory Spirit is on the battlefield. After the Memory Spirit attacks, the critical damage of the wearer and the spirit increases for two turns.
- Elegy-Singing Rhapsode: 2 parts – increases quantum damage; 4 parts – decreases the owner's speed, but at the same time increases the critical hit chance of the wearer and their Memory Spirit.
New events
Lucky Star Cosmic Prize – allows you to get a fixed reward of 100 Star Jades or a special jackpot of 500,000 Star Jades.
Character costume March 7 (Save) – you just need to log in to the game to get a free 4-star outfit for the heroine. This is the first skin in the game.
Memo Gift – Allows you to get 10 additional special Star Passes for Jumps.
Comet Gift – a classic event that allows you to get 10 special Star Passes if you log in to the game every day for 7 days in a row.
Ilias's Travel Notes – will allow you to better explore Amphoraeus: its locations, mysteries and enemies.
Mysterious Hypogeum and Secret Twilight are small events related to combat and research trials.
Planar Rift and Garden of Many are classic events that allow you to get more materials while farming them.
Innovations game mechanics
The developers continue to improve the game, changing some of its mechanics and adding additional options. For example, they decided to increase the limit of Development energy to 300 units, and the number of dive keys to 12. This will allow players to get more pumping materials.
