In Honkai: Star Rail (HSR)Currency Wars is a game mode added to the game with the release of update 3.7. During it, players need to hire employees to build optimal teams, equip characters, and then fight various enemies, crossing 3 dimensions and defeating the boss at the end. As a reward, you will receive star jades, upgrade materials and passes.
In this guide, we will briefly look at the main mechanics of the mode, and also give useful tips on choosing heroes, activating connections, selecting equipment, boss battles and following optimal battle strategies.
How to take part in “Currency Wars” in HCP
Access to the mode opened on November 5, 2025, and will be valid indefinitely. However, to play it, you first have to fulfill a couple of conditions, which include:
- Reach at least Mastery level 21.
- Complete the mastery mission “Stranger in a Strange Land” from the “Farewell Penaconia” quest chain (optional).
Once you have met all the specified requirements, you should automatically begin the event's starting quest. If this does not happen, then look at the Travel Log, go to the page of the desired mode and click on the “Participate” button. Let's add that you can also use the Vision of Completeness function to start the event without going through the above task.
Description of the game mode

Hiring employees
First, open a character recruitment store and use gold coins to form a team of 8-10 allies who will have to fight various enemies. In this case, it will be necessary to choose different positions for the heroes: those on the field will fight on the front line, and characters outside the will will automatically use their abilities in battle.
If the hero is in a position suitable for him, then his unique new ability called “character improvement” will be activated, enhancing his basic skills or giving completely new combat skills.
Link Activation
Each character has his own bond. If you place a certain number of heroes with the same connection, you can activate the connection effect, which gives you a boost in battle. The more fighters with the same connection, the higher its level and the stronger the effect.
Equipment
Characters can be equipped with special equipment. Some items not only increase parameters, but also add unique combat effects. Thanks to the use of suitable equipment, you can significantly increase the hero’s combat capabilities.
Battle
Having prepared your squad and equipment, you can go directly to the battles, where players need to go through three Dimensions, fighting various enemies and bosses. As you progress through the levels, you will receive new resources, assemble better teams and increase your strength to defeat your main enemy.
Choosing a Strategy
In each round, players will be given a variety of investment environments and investment strategies to choose from, which can provide significant boosts to the entire team. You need to select them correctly to more effectively destroy enemies.
