According to the village gossip that circulates in the taverns, the waters of Troska are simply teeming with mysterious creatures. Stories about water spirits are especially common. Of course, these tales should not be taken seriously: if such creatures really settled in the local rivers and ponds… However, there is a grain of truth in every myth, perhaps it is worth checking this place out? After all, even if there is no monster in the water, the treasure may well be quite real.

How to Start the Hidden Quest About the Water Spirit
You can hear the story about the water spirit from two people:
- Zdenek Pustobrech in Tachov
- The innkeeper at the tavern at the Zheleevsky inn
To activate the quest, it is best to contact the second. Ask him “How are things here?» and among other rumors, he will mention two local guys who found the waterman's treasure.
If you ask the innkeeper about the place of residence water, then a marker will appear on your map associated with another task – “Axe in the Lake“. However, if you ask the questions “What did they find?” and “Where should I look for them?“, the innkeeper will tell you that the guys somehow got a lot of money, and will point to a swimming spot west of Zhelezhov. A corresponding mark will appear on your map. It is worth noting that both quests will send you to the same place.
Where to Find the Men by the Pond
Now that the right mark has appeared on the map, we set out and look for a place to swim at the Vežice Pond. Getting there is not so easy: if you go through Bozena's Hut (where Jindřich and Jan Ptáček were resting in the prologue), the path will be quite difficult. The easiest way is to stick to the road along the northern shore.
When you arrive at the location, pay attention to the pier, littered with all sorts of garbage: scattered clothes, scraps of food, and spilled wine are lying here. If you examine the water at the edge of the pier, you can find a drowned man. And if you go deeper, you will find a second corpse. Both obviously died in the water, drowned? But what is strange is that the depth here is small, and Indro can easily enter it.
Don't forget to search the bodies:
- One of the dead carries groschen and Carpenter's Distinction Plaque
- There are 138 groschen and Drowned Man Map in the bag on the pier
Having examined the found map in the inventory, you can see that there is a point marked on it, this is the place where the waterman's treasure is hidden. Let's go there.
How to Find the Vodyanoi's Treasure
The resulting map looks simple, but you can make out three main landmarks on it:
- Tavern at the Zheleevsky Inn (on the right)
- Lake (in the center)
- Pier (on the left)
To get to the treasure, move along the southern shore of the lake to the east, cross the gypsy camp and continue towards Bozena's hut. When you find yourself in the right place, a mark will automatically appear on the map.
What's Inside the Treasure
The jug contains 125 groschen – less than what was in the bag on the pier, but still a good reward. Hopefully, you'll be luckier than the poor souls who found the treasure first.
Luckily, Henry can't swim, so he won't run into a Vodyanoi, if such creatures even exist. However, if you want to take a risk and learn more, try completing the “Axe in the Lake” quest. You might be able to find even more treasure there. After all, the Vodyanoi's treasure is hidden just a few steps from his hut.
