Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

In Genshin ImpactDurin is a 5-star Pyro character who uses a one-handed sword in battle. In a team, he can play the role of a secondary damage dealer/support, dealing significant fire damage to enemies from the pocket and strengthening allies. In this guide, you can learn about his best build, weapons and artifacts, as well as units recommended with him.

Main features of Durin

How to get Durin

In the first phase of update 6.2 (Moon III), this cute little dragon finally appeared in the banner, increasing its drop rate. In the future, it will be possible to obtain this character only with the help of Prayers. Unfortunately, HoYoverse has never held an event where the reward would be a 5-star event fighter, so you definitely won’t be able to get this horned boy for free.

Durin's Abilities

Basic Attacks: Flame Wing Strike

When performing a normal attack, the hero performs up to 4 consecutive strikes with the sword, and with a charged attack, he spends a certain amount of stamina and makes a single slash in front of him. While performing a fall kick, he rushes to the ground, hitting all enemies in his path, and upon landing, deals damage in an area.

Elemental skill “Dualism: Fusion and Separation”

Receives the effect of Essence Transmutation for 6 seconds, during which, by quickly pressing an elemental skill, he can enter the state of Affirmation of Purity, and by pressing a normal attack, he can enter the state of Denial of Darkness. Both states provide different buffs to Durin, last 30 seconds, and allow him to unleash different elemental bursts.

When this effect is activated, his elemental skill turns into Transmute: Assert Purity, the use of which, in addition to transitioning to a new state, deals one-time Pyro damage in an area to nearby enemies.

When activating Essence Transmutation, his basic attack turns into a special elemental skill Transmutation: Denial of Darkness, the use of which, in addition to transitioning to a new state, deals three consecutive attacks with Pyro damage on enemies in front.

In addition, when the hero is on the field and enters the Statement of Purity or By denying darkness, he restores 33 energy units (at level 10). Energy can be restored in this way only once every 6 seconds.

Elemental explosion “Principle of Purity: When the Light Changes”

Depending on the state he is in as a result of Essence Transmutation, Durin is able to use different ultimates:

  • Principle of Purity: When the light changes, he uses it while in the state of Purity Affirmation. It deals three AoE Pyro damage to enemies in front and transforms into a White Flame Dragon, starting to follow the active character and periodically attack nearby enemies, dealing Pyro damage to them in an AoE. This damage is considered ult damage.
  • Principle of darkness: When the stars smolder – uses it when in a state of Denial of Purity. It deals Pyro damage three times to enemies in front and transforms into the Dragon of Black Decay, starting to follow the active character and periodically attack one nearby enemy, dealing Pyro damage. Such damage is considered ult damage.

If Durin does not have the Essence Transmutation effect, then when he activates his ult he will automatically apply the “Principle of Purity: When the Light Changes.”

Passive talents

The first of them is called “Light manifestation of divine calculation” and depending on the dragon form that Durin takes when using his ult, he is given different enhancements:

  • White Flame Dragon – when allies cause Overload, Burning, Pyro Crystal or Pyro Dispel reactions on an enemy, or inflict Dendro or Pyro damage to enemies with the Burning status, Pyro resistance and resistance to the elements of these enemies participating in the reaction drops by 20% for 6 seconds.
  • Black Decay Dragon – Damage from the Melt and Steam reactions that Durin causes increases by 40%.

Second – Chaos built like night– for 20 seconds after using the ult, gives the hero the effect of the Primordial Fusion of Forms, during which he receives 10 levels of the Primordial Fusion. When White Flame Dragon and Black Decay Dragon's periodic attacks deal damage, 1 stack is consumed and increases the damage dealt by 3% of the original damage for every 100 attack power. The maximum buff can be 75%, that is, to receive it you need to have 2500 attack from Durin.

When White Flame Dragon and Black Decay Dragon hit multiple enemies at the same time, only one level of Primordial Fusion is consumed. When an elemental explosion is used again, the number of levels of Primordial Fusion is reset.

As for the third passive “Echoes of the Seething Earth”, it increases the reward for expeditions carried out in Mondstadt and lasting 20 hours by 25%.

Durin has a unique passive “Witch's Eve Ritual: Ode of Ascension”, which is activated after completing Witch Lessons: This World and if there are at least two witch characters in the team. It triggers the effect of “Witchcraft: Secret Rite”, which increases all effects (except duration) of the talent “Light Appearance of Divine Reckoning” by 75%.

As a result, if you combine Durin with Mona, Sucrose, Klee, Fischl, Razor, Albedo or Venti, then the resistance in the form of the dragon of light will be cut by 35%, and the damage from Melt and Steam will increase by 70%.

Durin constellations

To open them, you need to accumulate the character’s Luck, which is issued when duplicates of the hero appear, which, of course, is random. Given the low chance of getting 5-star characters, you will need to spend a lot of time and money to unlock all the constellations. However, even without them, Durin easily performs the function of a sub-DD.

The table below shows a list of all constellations with their description and benefits for the character.

NameDescriptionBenefit
Adam Deliverance

After using the ult and depending on which elemental explosion was activated, various effects occur:

  • Principle of Purity: When the light changes: All other party characters nearby gain 20 levels of Enlightenment Cycle for 20 seconds. When normal attacks, charged attacks, fall attacks, elemental skills, or elemental bursts of active characters with Enlightenment Cycle deal damage, 1 level of Enlightenment Cycle is consumed and increases the damage dealt by 60% of Durin's attack power. The number of activations for squad characters with levels of the Cycle of Enlightenment is calculated separately.
  • Principle of Darkness: When the Stars Fade: Durin receives 20 levels of the Cycle of Enlightenment for 20 seconds. When Durin deals elemental burst damage, 2 levels of Enlightenment Cycle are consumed and increase the damage dealt by 150% of Durin's attack power.

Activating an elemental burst refreshes the number of levels of the Cycle of Enlightenment.

An excellent constellation that either further increases the damage of allies, or increases the pocket damage of Durin himself. There is no need to perform any additional body movements.
Bottomless thoughtsFor 20 seconds after Durin's ult is used, and after allies inflict Steam, Melt, Burn, Pyro Dispel Overload or Pyro Crystal reactions on an enemy, or when they deal Pyro or Dendro damage to enemies with the Burning status, the Pyro damage and the damage of nearby party characters participating in the reactions increases by 50% for 6 seconds.Another great constellation that gives a truly huge elemental bonus to Durin and the main damage dealer, regardless of his element (the main thing is that he is also involved in the reaction).
Fire Mirror AppearanceThe level of the ult increases by three. Maximum level: 15th.It brings medium-high benefit to the hero, because it deals the main damage with an explosion of elements.
Overflowing SourceIncreases the damage of the ult by 40%. Plus, when activating the effect of spending levels of the Cycle of Enlightenment, constellations from the first constellation may not be consumed with a 30% probability. It brings average benefit, since the overall bonus to the ultimate is small, and the positive effect is random.
Bitter Flame BurstThe level of an elemental skill increases by three. Maximum level: 15th.Brings average benefit.
Double birth

Ultimate damage ignores 30% of the enemy's defense. Additionally, Elemental Bursts gain buffs:

  • When Principle of Purity: When the Light Changes and White Flame Dragon hit an enemy, the enemy's Defense is reduced by 30% for 6 seconds.
  • The damage of “Dark Principle: When the Stars Burn” and the Dragon of Black Decay additionally ignores 40% of the enemy's defense.
The constellation does not lead to a change in gameplay and does not change the role of Durin – he can still be a sub-damage dealer/support in the squad, dealing even more damage from the pocket or giving increased damage to allies.

If you decide to try your luck, we recommend that you stop at C1 and C2, which significantly increase the damage of both Durin himself and his allies, depending on the dragon form he uses while under the influence of his ult. Let’s add that if you have a choice between the first Constellation and a signature weapon, we recommend taking C1, since it will still bring a little more benefit, especially if there are two witch characters in the team. In addition, there are many good alternative one-handed swords for Durin.

How to play as Durin

Despite the abundance of letters in his abilities and the presence of two different forms (stances), the gameplay for Durin is relatively simple. Let us note in advance that his basic attacks are nothing remarkable, so you can ignore them. So let's go straight to his elemental skill “Dualism: Fusion and Separation”, the first use of which allows you to choose one of two states:

  • Affirmation of Purity – allows you to then take the form of the White Flame Dragon.
  • Denial of Darkness – allows you to then take the form of the Dragon of Black Decay.

Each of these forms has different boosts and attack capabilities, so are designed for different commands and reactions. Next, we'll break down each stand individually so you understand how, when, and where to use them.

White Flame Dragon

To enter the Assertion of Purity state, you need to press the skill button again (the “E” key on a PC), after which Durin will jump up and hit the ground, causing Pyro damage in the area (at level 10 of the ability, the multiplier will be 190%, which is quite sparse). In addition, it will restore 33 energy units and create 4 energy particles.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

This state lasts 30 seconds (the skill itself cools down after 12 seconds, so you can easily be constantly in any of the selected modes), and when it is active, in the case of using an ult (costs 70 units), it activates the “Principle of Purity: When the Light Changes”, in which it turns into the form of the White Flame Dragon.

In it, he first deals Pyro damage in an area 3 times with a total multiplier of 589% (at 10th ability level) and then continues to hit enemies once every 1 second for 20 seconds, even from the pocket, with each hit multiplier being 170.4%. Pyro status is assigned once every 2 seconds.

Note: The cooldown of the ultimate is 18 seconds, so you can easily deal Pyro damage out of the field throughout the battle.

At the same time, do not forget about his bonus from the first passive. As a reminder, when team members causeOverload, Pyro Dissipation, Pyro Crystallization, or Burn(or inflicting Burning damage to Pyro/Dendro), enemy resistance to Pyro and the element involved in the reaction is reduced by 20% for 6 seconds. With the 2nd witch character, resistance is completely cut by 35%.

Note: If your main DD, for example, belongs to the Electro element, and there is also an Anemo support in the team, then you need to make sure that you first activate Overload, and not Pyro Dispersion, in order to cut off the Electro resistance of enemies. If the main damage dealer also belongs to Pyro, then, on the contrary, you must first activate one of the above reactions for Pyro’s resistance cut to work.

All this affects his rotation in this form, which looks like this:

  1. First, use Durin’s elemental skill, and then press the skill button again to go into the State of Purity Statement. If you have enough energy, you can immediately activate his ultimate.
  2. Now immediately switch to the main damage dealer and start hitting enemies, activating one of the above reactions to get a cut of resistance to the required element. If we are talking about Pyro main-DD, then you first need to cause some reaction from the above list.
  3. Note that Durin's ult cools down after 18 seconds, and his skill cools down after 12 seconds, but the Assertion of Purity state lasts 30 seconds, that is, at the start of the second rotation you will still be in it. So you can cheat a little and press E, and then perform an elemental explosion and then press the skill again, thereby receiving another 33 energy.

Dragon of Black Decay

To enter the Denial of Darkness state, after the first use of the E-shka, you need to press the normal attack button (LMB on a PC), after which Durin will swing his sword and deal a triple blow to the enemies in front of him (at the 10th level of the ability, the total multiplier will be 342%, which is more than the Affirmation of Purity, but not much). In addition, it will restore 33 energy units and create 4 energy particles.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

This state lasts 30 seconds (the skill itself cools down after 12 seconds, so you can easily be constantly in any of the selected modes), and when it is active, in the case of using an ult (costs 70 units), it activates the “Principle of Darkness: When the Stars Burn,” which transforms into the form of the Dragon of Black Decay.

In it, he first deals Pyro damage in an area 3 times with a total multiplier of 610% (by 10th level of the ability), and then continues to hit only one enemy once every 1.25 seconds for 20 seconds, even from the pocket, with a multiplier of each hit of 233.7%. Pyro status is assigned once every 2.5 seconds.

Note: The cooldown of the ultimate is 18 seconds, so you will be able to deal Pyro damage out of the field throughout the entire battle.

What is the point of the dark stance, because based on the numbers it may seem that it is weaker, but this is not entirely true. If in the light form Durin's passive gave bonuses to his allies, then in this form he gives a buff to himself – the fact is that the reactions he causes, Steam and Melt, begin to cause 40% more damage. With the 2nd witch character, his bonus reaches 70%, which is equivalent to pumping up elemental mastery to 472 units.

All this affects his rotation in this form, which looks like this:

  1. First use Durin's elemental skill, and then press the normal attack button to enter the Darkness Denial state. If you have enough energy, you can immediately activate his ultimate.
  2. If your main damage dealer also belongs to the Pyro element, then first press through the abilities of Cryo or Hydro sub-DDs and supports, and only then switch to the main DD. In this case, it will be Durin who will have to close Steam and Melt, causing significant damage to enemies.
  3. Note that Durin’s ultimate cools down after 18 seconds, and the skill – 12 seconds, but at the same time, the Denial of Darkness state lasts 30 seconds, that is, at the beginning of the second rotation you will still be in it. So you can cheat a little and press E, and then perform an elemental explosion and only after that press the basic attack button, thereby receiving another 33 energy.

Advantages and disadvantages of Durin

Using his unique abilities, this hero can easily inflict significant damage from the pocket, both to single enemies and to large clusters of opponents. Its advantages also include:

  • He is an excellent and extremely versatile secondary damage dealer, capable of dealing significant Pyro damage from the pocket while consistently inflicting Pyro status on enemies. For this reason, he pairs well with a wide range of characters and can be a great addition to many teams.
  • Has two forms designed for different purposes. In short, one of them is aimed at reducing the resistance to the elements (Pyro, Electro, Dendro, Anemo and Geo) of enemies, and the second is aimed at increasing the damage from Steam and Melt caused by Durin himself. He can freely switch between them, which again contributes to his versatility.
  • In the form of the Dragon of Black Decay, it may well become the main damage dealer even from the pocket, covering the reactions of Steam and Melt. If you equip him with Bennett (C6), which gives Pyro an infusion, then he can even remain on the battlefield.
  • Being a witch character, he has an additional buff, which is activated if you take a second similar hero into the squad.
  • He can independently fill himself with energy when changing form, and in a significant amount (almost half of the cost of the ult), so he is very undemanding in terms of energy recovery, unlike many others sub-DD.
  • Allows you to obtain more resources in Mondstadt expeditions. We have been waiting for this for 5 whole years.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

However, name Durin is still not an ideal character, since he also has his drawbacks:

  • He is not able to cut off the Cryo and Hydro resistance of enemies, so it is not advisable to use him as a support (in the form of the White Flame Dragon) in Melt and Steam squads. In them, he is locked in the role of a sub-death dealer.
  • The buff from having a second witch character in the squad is quite high, so it is highly recommended to add him to the squad. However, there are not very many such heroes in the game now, so a large number of players may have problems with this.
  • As an applicator, Durin is not bad, but he is definitely not superior to Xiang Ling, so if you have her fully upgraded and has 6 constellations, then do not rush to replace her with a dragon.

The best build for Durin

The best weapon

When choosing a one-handed sword, priority should be given to those instances that increase critical damage, the chance of critical hits and strength attacks, and also enhance the explosion of the elements and give additional buffs to allies. The table below presents the most interesting options.

Name and rarityCharacteristics (level 1-90)Passive ability

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to best build

Atame artis (5 stars)

Base attack: 46-608

Crit chance: 7.2%-33%

Increases ultimate critical damage by 16-32%. If an elemental explosion hits an enemy, the Blade of Bright Day effect is created, which increases the owner’s attack power by 20-40%, and the active character (excluding the wearer) by 16-32% for 3 seconds. Plus, when the Witchcraft: Arcane Rite effect is active on the team, Bright Day Blade receives an additional 75% boost. These effects work even if the owner is not on the battlefield.

A signature for Durin, which gives all the bonuses he needs, and even strengthens the main damage control when he becomes an active character. But for its full implementation, a second witch character must be present in the team. In addition, this sword performs worse in teams where the dragon becomes the main damage dealer. In view of all these conditions, we still advise you to knock out C1 first, and only then try to get a signature weapon.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Precious pool (5 stars)

Critical hit chance: 9.6%~44.1%

Base attack: 44-542

Increases the hero's health by 20%~40% and gives an attack bonus equal to 1.2%~2.4%  of the hero's maximum health.

Significantly increases crit. Durin's chance, which will be very useful to him. Plus, it gives a significant increase in attack power, making it much easier to gain 2500 units. In addition, it slightly increases his survivability due to the increase in health. As a result, this sword lags behind the signature by only 5-7% if the team does not have a second witch character.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Splitting Mist (5 stars)

Critical damage: 9.6~44.1%

Base Attack: 48~674

Gives a bonus to elemental damage of 12~24 percent. When dealing elemental damage with normal attacks or an elemental explosion, special seals are issued that provide up to an additional 56 percent bonus to elemental damage.

One of the best options if you plan to use Durin as an active damage dealer, combining him with Bennett (C6). True, the chance of crit will have to be obtained from artifacts. However, it is also suitable for sub-DD in Melt and Steam teams, since the passive is activated not only by regular hits, but also by the ultimate.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Oath of Freedom (5 stars)

Elemental Mastery: 43~198

Base Attack: 46-608

Increases damage dealt by 10 percent and accumulates inspiration talismans, even if the character is not on the battlefield. After collecting two talismans, they disappear, increasing allies' damage from normal and charged attacks by 16 percent, and their attack power by 20 percent.

Unlike the previous version, this sword, on the contrary, is best suited for Durin in the role of support, that is, in the form of the White Flame Dragon, when he cuts off elemental resistance. In terms of effectiveness, it can be equal to the signature if the main damage dealer deals damage with regular and/or charged attacks, and his damage scales with the strength of the attack. Let us add that Durin does not need MC in such commands, unless he is involved in the Bloom reaction.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Azure Radiance (5 stars)

Base attack: 48-674

Crit chance: 4.8%-22%

After using an elemental skill, the owner's attack power increases by 24-48% for 12 seconds. If at this moment the wearer runs out of energy, the attack power additionally increases by 24-48%, and critical damage by 40-80%.

After using an elemental skill, the owner's attack power is increased by 24-48% for 12 seconds. If at this moment the wearer runs out of energy, the attack power additionally increases by 24-48%, and critical damage by 40-80%.    Basically just a gun for crits, since Durin will not be able to fully implement the weapon’s passive, because, on the contrary, he constantly generates energy.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Haran geppaku futsu (5 stars)

Crit chance hits: 7.2~33.1%

Base attack: 46~608

Increases the damage bonus to all elements by 12~24 percent. When elemental skills are activated by other team members, the sword owner receives the 1st level of Spike Wave. The maximum you can get is 2 levels. The effect occurs once every 0.3 seconds. If the hero uses his elemental ability, then all Spike Waves are spent, and each level increases damage from normal attacks by 20~40 percent for 8 seconds.

Another gun for a chance to crit, since in the role of a sub-damage dealer/support, its passive will be mostly useless for him. He can only make any use of it if you make him an active DD playing with Bennett (C6).

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Absolution (5 stars)

Critical damage: 9.6%~44.1%

Base attack: 44~542

Increases critical damage by 20-40%. As Life Debt increases, the damage dealt by the blade's owner increases by 16-32% for 6 seconds. The bonus stacks up to three times.

Again, this is just a crit gun. damage, and it increases this parameter significantly, so in artifacts the main attention can be paid to the crit chance. Durin will not be able to use the second part of the passive, unless it can be activated during battles with opponents who impose Life Debt on characters.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Wolf Fang (4 stars)

Crit chance. hits: 6~27.6%

Base attack: 42~510

Increases damage from skills and ults by 16~32%. When a skill or elemental explosion hits an enemy, his crit chance increases by 2~4%. Bonuses can work simultaneously. Each of them lasts 10 seconds and stacks up to four times. Can appear once every 0.1 second.

At the 5th awakening, it is almost very close to the above 5-star swords, and at the 1st, it is only slightly superior to the free options. However, you can only get it from the Battle Pass, therefore, we do not recommend deliberately knocking out this blade for Durin – it is better to spend extra resources on obtaining a signature. In addition, you may have difficulty reaching 2500 attack power.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Grand finale of the depths (4 stars)

Attack power: 6~27.6%

Base attack: 44~565

When using an elemental skill, ATK increases by 12~24% for 15 seconds. Plus, an Oath of Life is imposed in the amount of 25% of the wearer’s maximum health (can appear once every 10 seconds). After removing this tag, attack power increases by an additional 2.4~4.8% of the given HP (max. 150~300 units) for 15 seconds. The oath takes away the healing received by the hero.

A good free option for Durin that allows him to easily reach 2500 attack power. However, the hero will be able to fully realize the potential of this sword only if there is a good healer in the team, which may not be the case in all squads.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Dragon Roar (4 stars)

Attack power: 9%~41.3%

Base attack: 42~510

Increases damage by 20-36% when fighting enemies who are under the influence of Electro or Pyro elements.

It also gives a noticeable increase in attack power, making it easier to gain 2500 units, but its full potential can only be realized in teams playing through Overload.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Dawn of the Moonspinner

Base attack: 43.7-564.7 Attack power: 6-27.5%

Ultimate damage increases by 20-40%. If the wearer has no more than 60/40 units of maximum energy reserve, then the ultimate damage is additionally boosted by another 16% (and up to 32% for a reserve of 60 units)/28% (up to 56% – maximum bonus for a reserve of ≤ 40 units or less).

At the 5th awakening it is only slightly inferior to Wolf Fang (R5), and at the 1st it will be worse than previous options if they are used to their maximum potential. It gives a noticeable increase in attack power and enhances the ultimate, however, it will not be possible to fully take advantage of its passive, since the cost of an explosion of Durin’s element exceeds 60 units. Its main advantage is that it is free, because this blade can be obtained for completing a quest.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Black Sword (4 stars)

Crit chance. hits: 6~27.6%

Base attack: 42~510

Increases damage from normal and charged attacks by 20%. When critical damage is caused by these blows, health is restored in the amount of 60% of the attack value. The effect appears once every 5 seconds.

Best artifacts

As for artifacts, we recommend taking sets that can increase attack power, speed up energy recovery (optional), enhance elemental explosions, and give additional buffs to allies. The table below shows the best options.

ArtifactsBonusesBenefits

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Ceremony of the ancient nobility

2 parts: increases damage from elemental explosions by 20%.

4 parts: when using an “ult”, the attack power of all team members increases by 20% for 12 seconds. The effect does not stack.

The optimal option for Durin, which not only enhances his elemental explosion, but also gives a noticeable buff to attack power, which will be useful both for the dragon himself and for the main damage dealer if his damage is scaled by this parameter. But this set may well already be worn by your support, for example, Bennett or Chevreuse, and the bonuses from it do not stack, so you may need to use another set.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Emblem of Shattered Fate

2 parts: increase the rate of energy regeneration by 20%.

4 parts: damage from an elemental explosion increases by an amount equal to 25% of the energy recovery rate. The maximum bonus can be increased to 75%.

A good alternative to the previous option if you want to be guaranteed to activate the ultimate on cooldown (in VE artifacts you can completely ignore it) and increase Durin’s personal damage.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

The End of the Gladiator/Memories of Shimenawa, Cinnabar Afterlife/Echoes of Offering, Night Whispers in the Forest, Fragment of Harmonic Fantasy, Unfinished Dreams

2 parts: increase attack power by 18%.You can also collect incomplete sets, for example, 2 parts of the Ceremony of the Ancient Nobility and the Burning Scarlet Witch will help increase Durin’s personal damage, and 2 parts of artifacts for attack power will increase this parameter to 2500 units. Half sets are much easier to select based on stats.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Ceremony of the ancient nobility

2 parts: increases damage from elemental explosions by 20%.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Burning Scarlet Witch

2 parts: increases attack power by 18%.

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

Flower of the Lost Paradise

2 parts: increase elemental mastery by 80 units.

4 parts: damage from reactions such as Flowering, Vegetation and Budding increases by 40%. Plus, if these reactions are activated by the very hero who is wearing this set, then the effect will increase by 25%. The bonus can stack up to four times and appear once per second, with each stack lasting ten seconds. The effect can occur even if the fighter wearing the set is not on the battlefield.

Can be used if you plan to put Durin on a team playing through Blossom. In all other units, this set will be useless.

As for the characteristics of artifacts, you must choose as follows:

  • Hourglass: attack power% or elemental mastery (only in Bloom teams)
  • Cup (chalice): bonus Pyro damage (priority) or attack power% (at C2 there will be better)
  • Crown (hat): crit. chance/crit. damage in a ratio of 1 to 2
  • Additional characteristics: energy recovery (to the desired value) > crit chance = crit. damage > attack power% > elemental mastery (for Bloom)

Durin in Genshin Impact: guide to the best build

If we talk about optimal indicators of the heroine's attributes, then they look like this:

  • Attack power: 2000-2500 (it is advisable to reach the upper limit to get the maximum buff)
  • Critical hit chance: 60-70%+
  • Critical damage: 200%+
  • Energy recovery: 110-150% (depending on the presence of a second Pyro character in the squad and Favonius’ weapon)
  • Elemental Mastery: 100+ (for Blossom)

Best commands for Durin

As we noted above, Durin is an extremely versatile character who, thanks to his two forms, can fulfill different roles in the squad:

  • In Light Dragon form, he is primarily a support, cutting off elemental resistances from enemies and constantly inflicting Pyro status on them, helping to trigger reactions while away from the battlefield. He shines best in squads that play through Overload, Burn, Pyro Dispersal, Pyro Crystal and Bloom.
  • In Dark Dragon form, he becomes a full-fledged sub-detonator, dealing significant damage from the pocket, covering Melt and Steam reactions. In some cases, it can even outshine the main damage dealer in terms of damage. If you combine him with Bennett (C6), who gives out Pyro infusion, you can even use Durin as an active damage dealer.

At the same time, we recommend that you try to combine Durin with other witch characters, for example, with Fischl, Klee, Razor, Albedo, Venti, Mona or Sucrose, in order to get an even greater buff to your passive. However, even without it, he is able to perfectly perform his main roles. In the table below we have shown the optimal commands with it.

Upgrading Durin

How to improve skills

You will have to search and collect a wide variety of materials, namely:

  • Teachings, instructions and philosophies about “Poetry” – obtained on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays in the Forgotten Canyon dungeon.
  • Tattered Mandate, Flawless Mandate and Frosted Mandate – dropped by the guardsmen of Fatui, bought with Star Shine, or created using Alchemy.
  • Corrupted Solar Flame – Dropped by the weekly boss Lord of the Corrupted Primal Flame.
  • Crown of Epiphany – can be obtained during events, as well as by upgrading the Sacred Sakura, Permafrost Tree, Dream Tree, Lucin Fountain and Tona Fire.

If we talk about the priority of pumping up talents, then you should simultaneously increase the elemental skill and elemental explosion, since the first is an important source of energy, and the second, in fact, deals the main damage. You can skip regular attacks or take them on last if you plan to use Durin as an active damage dealer.

How to level up your character

Get ready to search and collect a large number of different materials. Their list and methods of extraction are shown below.

Agate crystals Agnidus falls from the hypostasis pyro and the orchid, the semi-eternal observation operator matrix algorithm and the ancient geovishap. They can also be obtained after completing such weekly bosses as the Wolf Lord, Ajdaha and Signora. They are also sold in the souvenir shop. The Kuuwiaki Cyclic War Core drops from the Super-Heavy Land Cruiser: Mobile Fortress. The frost flower is a local curiosity of Nod Land. We indicated its location in a separate guide.
