In Zenless Zone Zero, Tracks in the Dark is an exploration mission and part of the Midnight Quest quest chain. During it, you will have to restore power to the Ballett Twins. To do this, you will need to visit the control room and generator room, as well as find Etheric Fuel and get to the high-rise gallery. How to start the quest
During the Midnight Quest, you will need to reach Internot level 36, then call Lycaon and find out what they have managed to find out over the past few days – this will lead to a new story order.
Next, interact with the HDD system and find the corresponding task in the “Main Line”. The game will advise you to take Ethereal and Ice characters of at least level 36, but we just used the trial heroes: Lycaon and Rina (don't worry, this is how it should be, that is, you can only take two agents) – we had no problems destroying monsters with this team.
Head to the Main Control Room
After talking to the Victoria members, you will be transported to the playing field. Having gained control over the banbu, start moving left along the only path. By the way, the right direction will be shown by the cells with arrows here. Watch a short scene with a blue banbu and stand on the cell with a doll to get a Handheld Xenon Flashlight, with which you can drive away ghosts (red flaming enemies).
Go to the arrow on the left and continue moving in the direction indicated. A ghost will appear at the top, which you need to drive away with the light of the flashlight (key “R”). Then go to the funnel located in the lower left corner of the area. You will move to another area of the field. Collect the shesterlings on the lower left and move towards the arrow on the left side. Before that, stand on the cell with the doll to get a charge for the flashlight.
Go left, collect the sixlings and destroy the ghost with a flashlight, and then run up to the next arrow. Continue north, picking up another gear and a doll (flashlight charge) along the way. Take the new sixling and turn right. Be careful, as there is a ghost near the gear (drive it away with a flashlight if necessary).
On the right, take out another enemy by shining your light on him, then grab the cogwheel and doll at the top. Then enter the vortex in the lower right corner of the area to move to a new area of the location. Inspect this small area for cogwheels, and head up to the arrow. Stand on the cage with the doll, taking the lantern charge, and drive away all the ghosts around you.
Then move left to the arrow and pick up 1 surveillance data package. After that, immediately stand on the cage with the doll to listen to the audio recording. Treadmills will appear on the bottom right, but do not stand on them yet – instead, move left to get to a secret warehouse with a bunch of shesterlings and a golden suitcase. After collecting them all, you can stand on the escalators.
After going down, pick up Denny on the left, and then stand in the observation zone even lower. You will see the control room below. Lycaon will engage in a fight with the etheryls. Help him by standing on the battle cell. Then a combat test will begin, where you can only use Lycaon and Rina. You will mainly have to fight ghosts, arimans and other ordinary mobs.
With Rina's help, return to the starting point
After dealing with the enemies, watch Lycaon turn on the lights in the control room. Next, go downstairs and open the shutter, spending 5,000 sixlings to collect the denny and gold suitcase in the small area. Go back and interact with all the red levers, turning them green. As a result, coins will appear in the center.
After collecting them, go to the locked door on the left and activate the infrared camera to phantom walk to your ethereal friend (blue banbu) and ask him to open the door for you. Enter this small area and collect all the materials. Now you can approach Rina so that she can escort you to Ellen and Corinne.
Go to the generator room
When the girls join you, start going right and up the only path. Then pick up the 2nd Surveillance Data Pack just before entering the generator room. Start walking clockwise along the broken light bulbs and interact with the idle generators. You will realize that they are missing fuel cells.
After going down, go left and enter the funnel. A combat test will begin, in which you will have to deal with a group of Ethereals on an upward elevator. You will control Ellen and Corin, who are quite strong damage dealers, so there should be no problems with the enemies.
Find Etheric Fuel
After climbing into a new area, start looking for fuel, which will be marked with the appropriate icons. When you regain control, activate the infrared flashlight and stand as a phantom on the cage with the ethereal friend so that he removes the protection from the switch. Then interact with the lever to turn the piston to the left – stand on it.
You will fly to the right. Take the 1st Ether Fuel at the bottom and turn the lever on the upper right once so that the piston points up – stand on it. You will move up. Activate the infrared camera again and phantom to the blue banbu, which will unlock the lever for you. Interact with the handle to turn the piston to the right, and use it.
After flying to the other side, take the 2nd Ether Fuel and go down to pick up Denny and the briefcase. Then go back using the same piston and move up. Take the 3rd Ether Fuel. The entire route is shown in the picture above. After taking the last fuel cell, go into the funnel at the top.
Start the Power Generators
Now start walking counterclockwise, stopping at the generators and installing fuel in them. You will need to start all three devices. Doing so will turn on the lights in the building. Chat with the Victoria members.
Go to the High Gallery
After the conversation, start going down to the opened door and pick up the 3rd Surveillance Data Packet along the way. Continue moving along the only path. Suddenly, you will encounter a ghost. You can use the flashlight (if you still have charges) or just stand on the treadmill on the right.
Avoid or banish a few more enemies on your way. Then the light will activate and you will be reunited with your friends. Now stand on the flag square to begin the final challenge.
As part of it, you will have to fight the boss Puppet under the Gray Veil, which is vulnerable to ice and ethereal attacks. Most of her attacks can be parried, so do not forget to use Perfect Assist and Dodge with Counterattack.
Beware of her spin attack, however, which is difficult to parry (since it is performed multiple times) – it is better to simply bounce away from the enemy and wait for them to stop spinning.
