In Genshin Impact, the Forest and the Princess is a quest in the world of Simulanka, during which you have to take the test of Princess Simest, and then go through it with her and touch the relic. If you have difficulty accepting and completing this mission, then study our guide.
Completing the quest “The Forest and the Princess” in Genshin Impact
How to start the quest
First of all, you will need to get to Simulanka by starting the story quest “The Story Begins in the Forest Where There Is No Rain.” After that, go to the Kingdom of Winds and Bells, located in the northern part of the Forest of Blessings, and climb the huge tree with the house. To the right of the local teleport you will find two nameless flying squirrels with an exclamation mark hanging over them. Approach them for a cutscene that starts the mission.
Talk to Princess Simest and accept the challenge
Next, glide north, jumping off the cliff, and chat with Simest. Agree to take part in her test. She will briefly explain its rules to you.
First test
So, approach the flying squirrel, which will sit near the cliff, and press the “T” key to tie it to you. Next, hold down the attack button (LMB) and stand in such a way that Simest can fly through all the rings and reach the flower. Then change your position again so that when the princess returns (press LMB again) to you, she will again fly through all the rings. The gif below shows the whole process.

Next, use the springboards to fly to the ledge ahead, where there are more rings and a flower that creates a wind flow. The pictures below show the exact location.
Hold down the LMB again and select the correct position so that the flying squirrel can fly through all the rings in front, and then fly into the air flow and fly to the right. Follow her using the next springboard. Then stand behind the princess and call her – she must fly through three rings. The gif below shows the whole process.

After completing the last challenge, stand on the springboard and climb onto the ledge with the sleeping flower and new rings. The exact location is shown in the images below.
First you will need to activate the flower – to do this, shoot the princess into it, thereby creating an air flow. Now choose the right position and send the flying squirrel into flight so that it passes through all the rings. Get to the other side using the springboards. At the end, call Simest, standing so that she flies through all the rings.
Complete the challenge with Princess Simest
After talking with the flying squirrel, go northwest and find Simest near the huge dragon footprint. You will need to pass four tests and pick up the relic lying below.
First test
Approach the flying squirrel and press the “T” key to make it fly towards you, and rings will appear for Simest to fly through and touch the flower ahead. Then jump down and stand so as to cover all the rings and only then call the princess to you. Note that the rings will move, so you will have to slowly go left. The gif below shows the whole process.

To begin, launch the flying squirrel into the bud located to the left and in front to activate the air flow. Now wait until the moving rings are close to the central ones and shoot the princess through them. Next, go to the right, stand under the remaining rings and call Simeste to you. After talking to the princess, you will need to complete two more tests. Press the “T” key to call the squirrel to you, and then stand on the ledge on the right. Wait until the four rings are close to each other and launch Simest through them, as shown in the gif below.
Fourth Challenge
Go a little southeast to the next set of rings. First, launch the squirrel into the bud to create an air current, and only then shoot it through the hoops. Then go a little to the right and call the princess back, allowing her to fly through the last rings.
Next a group of hilichurls will appear with which you will have to figure out. Then the princess will say that she will cope with the last test herself – you just need to wait a little without leaving the testing area.
Touch the relic
Now go down to the dragon's trail and touch the purple star. Chat with the princess again. This will bring the task to an end. As a reward, you will receive 250 adventure points, 30 primogems, 30 thousand mora and 2 hero books.
