In Honkai: Star Rail, “Frankenweenie” is a secret achievement that opens during battle with the Howling Coffin, a new enemy type from Lofu. To get it, you will have to sacrifice one ally and allow the robot to make a fatal blow to a hero who has the negative “Horror” condition active.
In the guide we will tell you how to find a suitable opponent and ensure that he hits the member squad with a frightened status.
In the battle against the Howling Coffin, along with the “Frankenweenie” achievement, you can unlock another achievement – “No big deal”, about the method for obtaining it was described in a separate guide.
How to Unlock the Frankenweenie Achievement in Honkai: Star Rail
The condition for opening the achievement “Frankenweenie” is the defeat of any allied unit by the steel claws of the Howling Coffin, while the hero must be under the debuff “Horror”. If successful, a new achievement will appear in the set “Thirst for Battle” and will bring us +5 Star Jade.
Enter the battle with the Howling Coffin
The battle with this large mechanical monster, made in the likeness of the Borisinians, happens twice during the story campaign “Duel under the Azure Sky I”:
- The first time we encounter it in the quest “The Bark of a Watchdog, Sweet Words”, where the mecha turns out to be a specific cargo of the KMM;
- And the second time – in the quest “Clear Conscience and a Broken Cage”, during a surprise attack on the crew of the Star Express and Hanyu in the House of Shackles.
Later, the robot will appear in different modes of the Virtual Universe, the Hall of Oblivion, Pure Fiction or Illusion of the End.
In addition to story missions and endgame content, the Howling Coffin enemy is encountered on the -3rd floor of the underwater prison, southeast of the “Scorching Prison” teleporter.
The monster guards a luxurious chest, which we talked about in the guide to all the chests in the House of Shackles (see point 30).
How to Get Defeated by Howling Coffin under Horror status
In the duel, the Howling Coffin gradually enters a mode in which a special substance (lupotoxin) is released, characteristic of biological prototypes of robots, the Borisins.
When a red eye mark appears over a squad member's portrait and “Haunting Horror” is activated, they can fall into “Horror” for several turns – the character's icon is shrouded in a scarlet haze, and the hero becomes scared and cannot act for at least 2 turns (after the time expires, the effect is neutralized on its own, but it can also be removed by allies' abilities).
In the guide to the “No big deal” achievement, we explained how you can neutralize “Haunting Horror,” and now we’ll give you some tips on how to hold out until you get “Horror” and not kill the enemy before he hits at least one member of your squad:
- If the Howling Coffin is in the company of other monsters, initially focus on protecting allies and neutralizing all small enemies – if they are not removed, the enemies may accidentally finish off the hero struck by “Terror” instead of the mechanical wolf. In addition to such tactics, you can simply take shield warriors into the squad, who will protect us until the status is activated;
- The robot is vulnerable to wind, imaginary and electric damage types, but breaking through its durability bar will only complicate and slow down the process. It is better not to take heroes of these elements, as well as highly pumped DD – this way you risk killing the mech before he puts up a debuff or finishes off a frightened ally;
- Do not use heroes with skills that remove debuffs (such as March 7, Lynx, Locha or Hoho) – this will reduce the chance of activating “Horror” and the debuffs preceding it to zero.
So, if you take your time weakening the Howling Coffin, let it cast Stalking Terror on the character, keep it on until Terror is cast, and then let the metal wolf hit the scared unit, you will unlock the Frankenweenie achievement. Collecting it will give you the standard reward of 5 Star Jade.
