In Genshin Impact, Friend from Afar is a Patch 4.4 event where you have to cook various dishes by participating in special mini-games. As a reward, you will be given source stones, mora and valuable materials. You will also meet many old friends who have arrived from different parts of Teyvat. In this guide, we will tell you how to start the event and go through all its stages.
How to start the “Friend from Afar” event
The event started on February 21, 2024 at 10:00 server time , and it will end on March 4. Before you can participate in it, you will need to meet several conditions, namely:
- Reach at least Adventure Rank 28.
- Complete the story mission called “The Approach of a New Star.”
Once you deal with the specified requirements, you should automatically begin the first quest of the event, which is also its first test. If this does not happen, then go to the events menu, select the desired event and click on the “Add to task” button.

Move to the Wangshu Inn in Li Yue, and then jump down and go to the notice board that the marker will point to. You learn that the hotel needs a new chef for a while.
Return to the previous teleport so as not to waste time running up the stairs, and chat with the owner of the establishment. You learn that Yan Xiao burned his hand, so he needs a temporary replacement in the kitchen. Chat with the cook again to get started. You will also meet your old friends: Lini, Freminet and Lynette.
How to cook the “Wealth and Luxury” dish
So, you will need to please the Fontaines with delicious food. Go to the stove and start cooking, which will consist of three stages. Fortunately, you don’t have to look for ingredients for the dish.
Step I: Chopping
First, you will need to chop the snapdragons and shrimp. To do this, click on the left mouse button or the circle when the moving arrow is within the yellow cubes on the indicator.
Step II: Mixing
You will need to mix the flour and eggs and then add them to the shrimp. To do this, hold down the LMB until the moving strip is within the yellow cube, and then immediately lower it. You will need to repeat this process four times.
Step III: Cooking
Everything is quite simple here, since this mini-game is similar to the one used in regular cooking.
After finishing cooking, you will need to serve by choosing tableware, decorations and extras. Please note that these changes do not affect the reward in any way, so you can choose any options you like.
