Borderlands Blanks in Genshin Impact are materials needed to create crafting weapons in Natlan. Despite their rarity, there are many ways to obtain the blanks – we will cover each of them in this guide.
How to Get Borderlands Blanks
Dungeons of Punishment
When fighting the weekly bosses of Natlan, you have a small chance to get one of the required blanks.
As of patch 5.1, there are NO weekly bosses in the game that you can get blanks from, but they will probably appear in the next updates.
Alchemy
On the alchemy workbench, select the second tab to go to the item creation menu. There, you can create the required material from the core lands/northern blank. The transformation will require 2 Dream Solvents, which can be obtained in any punishment dungeons.
Tona's Fire
Pyro Seal Offerings in Natlan allow you to obtain one blank for each type of weapon for reaching certain levels of the Circle of Tona:
- Level 3 – One-Handed Sword Blank
- Level 13 – Two-Handed Sword Blank
- Level 23 – Spear Blank
- Level 33 – Catalyst Blank
- Level 43 – Bow Blank
Boxes with blanks
You can get a box for completing some events, the Imaginarium Theater, or for offering systems such as the Lightstone Adjuvant or the Treasured Jade. The Borderlands Box with blanks can only be obtained for reaching the highest reputation level with any two tribes of Natlan. However, you can also choose materials from other boxes and use alchemy.
Shops
At the time of patch 5.1, you can only buy Northerner Blanks in the souvenir shops of Mondstadt and Liyue for Anemo or Geo Seals – they cannot be purchased in other regions. After that, you can use the alchemy workbench again and create the necessary material.
How to Use Borderlands Blanks
To craft a weapon from a blank, you will first have to buy a diagram from the Natlan blacksmith Alom. After studying the drawing, you will be able to create the necessary weapon in any forge using the blank and ore.
