Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: A Guide to the Best Builds

In Honkai: Star RailFugue is a 5-star Fire type character from the Path of Nothingness. In a squad, she can act as a debuffer and support, aimed at breaking through enemy vulnerabilities. In this guide, you will learn about her best build, light cones, and relics. We will also tell you about the recommended teams with her.

Note: The clever girl of the fox people has not yet been officially released, so the information presented here is based on information obtained during beta testing. If necessary, we will update the guide when the heroine appears in the game.

Main features of Fugue

How to get Fugue

This character can only be obtained during the Jump event. In the near future, this banner will be launched during the second phase of patch 2.7 (December 25, 2024). If you want to be among the first to know about his next rerun, we recommend you bookmark this article.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: A Guide to the Best Builds

Let's add that HoYoverse has only given away a 5-star hero once for winning the “best mobile game of the year” nomination, and never for completing various events, so it's highly likely that you'll only be able to unlock this smart fox girl with the help of Jumps.

Fuga's Stat Progression

The table below shows how the heroine's basic stats change as she levels up.

LevelAttack PowerDefense HPSpeed
17976153102
20154148< /td>299102
40297285574102
60440421850102
805825581125102

Note that her critical damage, critical hit chance, and taunt are 50%, 5%, and 100 respectively at any level, and her energy reserve is 130 units.

Fugue's Abilities

When using her basic attack “Blazing Tail” deals 50~130% of her attack power as fire damage to the target enemy. At the same time, she restores 20 energy and penetrates the target for 30 tenacity.

When using the enhanced basic attack “Fire Caress”It deals fire damage to the target enemy and adjacent targets equal to 50~130% and 25-65% of its attack power, respectively. At the same time, it restores 20 units of energy and pierces the main and adjacent targets by 30 and 15 units of durability, respectively.

Explanation: Both the standard and enhanced basic attacks are nothing special, but you will still use them quite often, since Fugue's buffs last a long time – this is what makes her OH-positive, meaning she will bring your team additional skill points.

After using the skill Granting Grace, the heroine casts the Fox's Prayer effect on the selected ally and enters the Furious Scorch mode for 3 turns. The duration of this state is reduced by 1 turn at the beginning of each of her turns, and the buff only affects the last target of the skill.

Fox's Prayer increases the effect of target penetration by 15-37.5% and allows his strikes to reduce the tenacity of enemies even if they have a different type of vulnerability. This bonus is equal to 50% of the initial tenacity damage and cannot be stacked with other buffs that ignore enemy vulnerabilities.

In Furious Scorch mode, Fugue gains a strengthened basic attack. When an ally with Fox's Prayer attacks, the heroine has a 100% chance of reducing the attacked enemy's defense by 8-23% for two turns.

Explanation: Due to the long duration of the statuses, her rotation will resemble that of Ruan Mei, that is, use a skill, and then use strengthened basic attacks for two turns, dealing good damage for a support and giving the team skill points.

Thanks to the buff at skill level 10, the ally will receive +30% to the penetration effect and will be able to penetrate vulnerabilities of a different type, but with half the damage to tenacity, that is, he will essentially turn into Rappa under the ult (if the hero can already reduce the tenacity of a different type, for example, Acheron, then the damage will not decrease).

As for the debuff that cuts the enemy's defense, it lasts for two turns of the enemy, so it is advisable to slow him down as much as possible or speed up the damager so that he has time to move more than the enemy. Do not forget about the bonus attacks.

By activating the superpower “Blinding Flame”, the heroine deals fire damage to all enemies in the amount of 100-250% of her attack power. This blow reduces the durability of all enemies, regardless of their vulnerability types. Targets with durability pierced in this way receive the effect of piercing fire vulnerability.

Explanation: At first glance, it may seem that the developers made a mistake, essentially giving the debuffer/buffer an ult that simply deals damage. However, everything is not so simple. Firstly, given the relatively low benefit of the super ability, you may not strive to use it as often as possible, especially given its high cost (130 units), so the rope, for example, can be taken for the penetration effect, and not for the speed of energy recovery.

Secondly, her ultimate can drain 20 stamina from all enemies in the arena at once, ignoring their vulnerability type. Thus, you can use it to knock down the stamina of enemies at the right moment, for example, before the DD's turn, so that his attack is guaranteed to penetrate their vulnerabilities. In general, the ultimate turned out to be neither good nor bad – it just suits Fugue's gameplay.

As for the heroine's passive talent – “Blessing of Kindness”, then thanks to it, while Fugue is in the arena, enemies are given the Cloud Flame Glitter status equal to 40% of their maximum tenacity. When their original tenacity drops to 0, their new status begins to deplete. Once it drops to 0, the enemy again receives vulnerability piercing damage. When an ally hits a target with a pierced vulnerability, the tenacity damage of this attack is converted to 50-125% of super piercing damage 1 time.

Explanation: The enemy essentially gets a second bar of durability (i.e. after the first one is broken, he is stunned), after which he again receives damage penetration – this will allow you to deal such damage more often. In addition, this defense can be reduced by any element. When allies attack such an enemy with a broken vulnerability, they will deal him super-penetration damage at 100% at the 10th level of the talent (the buff is similar to the ult of the imaginary Pathfinder).

Let's add that for heroes with physical and fire attributes, such double penetration is always beneficial, since they have a double multiplier in penetration damage, but with imaginary and quantum characters, problems may arise, since their multiplier is 0.5. They will benefit only from enemies whose maximum durability exceeds 200 units. However, it cannot be said that this is a significant problem, so most of the time you can ignore it.

We also cannot fail to mention the technique “Angry Flame”, which applies the Dizziness effect to enemies in a certain area for 10 seconds. Enemies with this debuff cannot attack the team. After attacking an enemy with this status, Fugue's duration moves forward by 40%. Plus, it has a 100% chance of applying the skill's defense reduction effect to all mobs for two turns.

Fuga's Traces

In addition to the above abilities, the character's upgrade tree also includes other buffs that provide passive bonuses or permanent increases to stats. These are mainly about increasing the penetration effect, HP, and speed. You can see them all in the picture below.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: A Guide to the Best Builds

Next, we will briefly consider special traces with their own mechanics:

  • Revival of Zelenat – when an ally penetrates an enemy's vulnerability, the latter's action is delayed by an additional 15%. The delay is small if compared to Ruan Mei, but it works constantly.
  • Tushan's Riddles – Increases the heroine's penetration effect by 30%. After the first use of the skill in battle, 1 skill point is immediately restored. Simplifies balancing the EP at the beginning of the battle and makes it easier for Fugue to gain the required amount of EP.
  • Thecda's Essence – When penetrating an enemy's vulnerability, the penetration effect of all allies increases by 6%. If the heroine's EP is equal to or exceeds 220%, then the EP increase bonus is additionally increased by 12% for two turns. This buff can be stacked up to two times. The main motivator for finishing off 220% EP in Fugue, because in this case you can almost constantly give your allies a 24% bonus to the penetration effect.

Fuga's Eidolons

To unlock them, you need materials of the same name, which are given out when duplicates of the heroine drop, which, of course, is random. And given the rarity of 5-star characters, be prepared to spend a lot of money and time on this. Fortunately, even without eidolons, Fugue can easily perform the function of a debuffer/buffer in the squad.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

The table below presents all the eidolons and their benefits for the character:

NameDescriptionBenefit
Mortality has faded, the path to ascensionIncreases the effectiveness of penetrating the vulnerability of an ally under the Fox's Prayer by 50%.Copies the main advantage of Ruan Mei, so Fugue with E1 can partially replace it, and in combination with it, give 100% penetration efficiency, doubling the damage of Super Penetration. Provides high benefit.
Approaching Fortune grants chastityWhen penetrating an enemy's vulnerability, Fugue restores 3 units of energy. After using the ult, all allies move forward by 24%.Allows you to use the ult more often and replaces the light cone “Dance! Dance! Dance!”, which Fugue, unfortunately, cannot use. Provides medium-high benefit.
Heart filled, mind subduedSkill level increases by two, and base attack by one. The maximum level of the former increases to 15, and the latter to 10.Provides average benefit.
Minds disunited, names burnedIncreases penetration damage by 20% for an ally under the Fox's Prayer. An additional multiplier, meaning that the damage of super probtion and penetration can be multiplied by another 1.2 times. Provides medium-high benefit.
Patronage Growth, Heir of NirvanaThe level of the ult and talent increases by two. The maximum level of both increases to 15.Provides average benefit.
The End of Creation, the Beginnings of the UniverseIncreases the effectiveness of Fugue's vulnerability penetration by 50%. While the heroine is in the Furious Burn state, the buffs from the Fox's Prayer are applied to all allies.Increases the frequency of cutting off enemy defenses and strengthens the entire team as a whole. However, E6 is not worth the resources spent on it, so it provides medium-high benefit.

If you plan to knock out eidolons and you have a limited budget, then you can stop at E1 and E2, which will significantly increase her capabilities as a support. If you have a choice between a signature weapon and the first eidolon, then we advise you to take a signature weapon, as it will bring more benefit.

How to Play Fugu

An extremely easy-to-use character whose main function is to apply debuffs to enemies and buffs to allies. You can cut enemy defense, increase the penetration effect of team members, give them the ability to drain stamina regardless of the types of vulnerabilities of enemies, and even increase the frequency of penetration of mobs.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

At the same time, thanks to the long-lasting effect of buffs, as well as the presence of an enhanced basic attack and a powerful ult, Fuga will be able to not only bring skill points to the team, but also deal good damage. Her optimal rotation will look like this:

  1. Try to activate the Fuga technique before the start of the battle to advance its action and reduce the defense of enemies.
  2. When it's Fugue's turn, immediately use her skill on the main damage dealer to increase his penetration effect and give him the ability to drain the enemy's durability, regardless of his vulnerability type.
  3. Fugue herself will enter Furious Scorch mode and begin to deal enhanced basic attacks – hit them for the next 2 turns to bring additional skill points to the team.
  4. As for the ult, it does not provide any buffs/debuffs, but simply deals damage, so use it when ready, but try not to take away the ability of the main DD to penetrate enemies, so as not to reduce the overall DPS of the pack.

Advantages and disadvantages of Fugue

Thanks to her abilities, she can fulfill several roles on the battlefield at once, significantly strengthening the squad. Her advantages also include:

  • Before us is a universal support for penetration, which will suit many damage dealers, turning any team into a squad for penetration.
  • It can not only increase the effect of penetration for allies, but also allow them to penetrate any enemy vulnerability and increase the frequency of damage penetration due to the addition of a second bar of durability to enemies.
  • Can reduce enemy defense, thereby further increasing the damage inflicted by damage dealers. Moreover, the debuff lasts exactly 2 turns of the enemy, so the main DD may well have time to take advantage of this advantage for 3 turns or more.
  • Partially plays the role of a sub-DD, as she can deal good fire damage with her enhanced basic attacks and super ability, which also ignores the type of enemy vulnerability.
  • Thanks to the long-lasting effect of buffs and the lack of an urgent need for the ult, she does not need to activate the skill every turn, so most often she will use basic attacks, bringing additional skill points to the team.
  • Independently increases the important penetration effect for herself with the help of Traces, simplifying the set of this stat to the desired value.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

However, you shouldn't consider this savvy fox an ideal character, as she also has her own shortcomings, namely:

  • Due to the inability to activate the passive of the Clockmaker of Sleepy Machinations, she is still slightly inferior to the imaginary Pathfinder, if you take into account only the buffs of the penetration effect.
  • To get maximum buffs, you need to get 220% EP from Fugue, and this will be quite difficult, especially without a signature weapon.
  • Fugue is aimed specifically at breaking through commands, so it cannot be called universal in the general sense. It will not be much better than the same Pela, if we are talking only about applying debuffs.

The best build for Fugue

The best light cones

When selecting weapons, we recommend paying attention to those options that increase the chance of effects hitting and attack power, as well as impose additional weakening and strengthen existing debuffs. The table below shows the most interesting cones.

NameStatsAbility

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

Home at the End of a Long Journey (5 stars)

HP: 43~952

Attack Power: 21~476

Defense: 30~61

Increases the wearer's Penetration Effect by 60-100%. When an enemy's Vulnerability is penetrated, the wearer has a 100% chance of placing a Burning debuff on them, increasing their Penetration Damage taken by 18-30% for two turns. This effect can stack up to two times.

A signature for Fugue, which even without overlapping gives more EP than any other cone with upgrades. In addition, it, like E4, gives an additional multiplier for super penetration, and for the entire squad at once. In general, the signature weapon will be better than the first eidolon, so we advise you to drop it.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

Determination Shines Like Pearls of Sweat (4 Stars)

HP: 952

ATK: 476

DEF: 330

With a 60~100% chance, traps the affected enemy (if they haven't already fallen into one), reducing their defense by 12-16% for one turn.

A universal cone that will also work for Fugue. It is advisable to get at least 3 overlays to cut off more defense. Let us remind you that these debuffs can stack, which can significantly increase the damage inflicted by damage dealers.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: A Guide to the Best Builds

Before the start of the training mission (4 stars)

HP: 43~952

Attack Power: 21~476

Defense: 15~330

Increases the chance of hitting effects by 24~40%. When striking an enemy with reduced defense, the cone restores 4 units of energy to the character.

Increases the character's required SPE, and the second part of the passive will be triggered regularly, since Fugue is able to independently cut off enemy defense. Thus, you will be able to receive additional energy and ult more often.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

Lone Healing (5 stars)

HP: 48~1058

Attack Power: 24~529

Defense: 18~396

Increases the penetration effect by 20-40%. Activating the ult increases periodic damage by 24-48% for two turns. When an enemy with a status that inflicts DoT is destroyed, the owner recovers 4-6 units of energy.

If you need to increase the penetration effect, then this option will be better than the previous two, since with the 5th overlay it can increase this parameter by a significant amount. Plus, you will be able to increase the damage from Burning, which is what the ult will apply in case of penetration of the enemy vulnerability.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

Fermata (4 stars)

HP: 952

ATK: 476

DEF: 330

Increases the penetration effect by 16-32%, as well as the damage dealt to enemies with the Weathering and Shock status by 16-32%. The bonus also affects periodic damage.

This option can be an alternative to the previous cone. It gives less penetration effect, and the second part of the passive will only work if there are characters in the squad who can apply the corresponding debuffs. In general, take “Lone Healing” if possible.

Best Relics

As for the choice of common relics mined in the Caves of Corrosion, we recommend paying attention to sets that increase speed, penetration effect and chance of hitting effects, as well as in one way or another covering weakening and buffs for allies in their bonuses. The table below shows the best options.

NameBonusesAdvantages

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: A Guide to the Best Builds

Meteor Thief

2 pieces: Increases the penetration effect by 16%.

4 pieces: Increases the penetration effect by another 16%. When the wearer penetrates an enemy's vulnerability, restores 3 units of energy.

Allows you to maximize the heroine's penetration effect, simplifying the 220% set to receive an additional 12% EP buff for allies. Plus, you will be able to ult more often. In addition, it is very easy to choose the right stats for this set due to its prevalence.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

Iron Cavalry

2 parts: increase the penetration effect by 16%.

4 parts: if the penetration effect is equal to or exceeds 150%, then in case of dealing penetration damage, the wearer ignores 10% of the enemy's defense. If the EP is equal to or exceeds 250%, then the super-penetration damage dealt by the owner ignores another 15% of the defense.

This set should be chosen by those who want to increase the personal damage of Fugue, turning it into a full-fledged sub-DD. However, getting 250% EP will be extremely problematic.

The Messenger Wandering in Hackerspace/The Thorny Path of the Priest

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

The Clockmaker of Sleepy Machinations/The Thief of the Falling Meteora/Iron Cavalry

2 pieces: Increases acceleration by 6%.

2 pieces: increases the penetration effect by 16%.

You can either take 2 sets for speed +12% to reach 161 speed, or take 2 sets for EP, or 2 sets for speed and EP. All options show good results, especially with suitable stats.

Now we move on to planar decorations that are obtained in the Virtual Universe. The list below shows the recommended options (the numbers indicate the choice priority):

Planar DecorationBonusesReasons for Choosing

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: A Guide to the Best Builds

1) Thalia – the Land of Bandits

2 parts: increases the penetration effect by 16%. Increases this indicator by another 20% if the wearer's speed is equal to or exceeds 145 units.A universal option that simplifies the acquisition of EP, but it will require increasing the speed to the specified value, which can be quite difficult.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

2) Lotus Lantern of the Palace

2 parts: increases the wearer's speed by 6%. When striking an enemy with fire vulnerability, the wearer's penetration effect increases by 40% for 1 turn. The best option if you plan to put Fugue with Firefly, because the latter will add the corresponding vulnerability to opponents.

As for the characteristics of relics, you need to choose as follows:

  • Body: chance of hitting effects
  • Legs: speed
  • Planar Sphere: HP|defense
  • Connecting Rope: Penetration Effect
  • Additional stats: Speed (until you reach the required stat) -> Penetration Effect -> Effect Hit Chance -> Health/Defense

As for the heroine's optimal attribute stats, they look like this:

  • Penetration Effect: Ideally, you should reach 220%, but if you use her with other supports, such as the False Pathfinder or Ruan Mei, you can get by with a smaller value.
  • Haste: At least 145, ideally 161.
  • Chance to hit effects: 67%, so the base chance is 100%.

Best Teams for Fugue

Given Fugue's focus, she pairs best with damage dealers who play around super penetration damage. As of patch 2.7, this includes Firefly, Rappa, and Boothill. Add in supports (Ruan Mei, the supposed Pathfinder) and healers (Linsha and Gallagher) who use the same mechanic, and you have a perfect team.

However, the heroine is also suitable for other types of teams. For example, she can significantly strengthen Acheron, especially if she lacks E2, since she will give her damage buffs and will apply debuffs to enemies.

That being said, Fuga can easily turn many other squads into penetration teams thanks to her ton of universal buffs, so you can easily pair her with Himeko (helps build up charges for bonus attacks), Shuei (speeds up ult penetration), Kafka, Sushan, or Marth 7 (Hunt). All optimal teams are shown in the table below.

Upgrading Fugue

How to increase abilities (what to pump first)

The pictures below show the materials and their quantities needed to fully pump the basic attack, skill, super ability and talent.

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

Fuga in Honkai Star Rail: a guide to the best builds

  • Fire Spirit, Starfire Essence, and Heavenly Cremator are obtained from the Sepal located in the Alchemy Commission (Lofu Xianzhou), or through Synthesis.
  • Sprouts of Immortality, Ethereal Flower of Immortality, and Branch of Immortal Glory are obtained from Abominations of Abundance, errands, and enemies in the Virtual Universe, or through Synthesis.
  • Repentance of the Eternal False Body – obtained from fighting the boss in the Echo of War, located in the Scaly gorge.
  • Footprints of Destiny – obtained in the Virtual Universe, issued by the Battle Pass and purchased for Everlasting Ash in the Pom-Pom store. Sometimes they are a reward in temporary events.

As for the priority of leveling up abilities, it is advisable to first increase the talent, and then take on the skill (should be 1-2 levels behind). Then you can level up the ult and only at the end take on the basic attack.

How to level up a character
