How to get a gauss gun in Stalker 2
The gauss gun is capable of inflicting maximum damage at any distance, thanks to its high accuracy and zero recoil. With this rifle, you can destroy the enemy in almost one shot.
This gun uses only specialbattery ammunition, which you can only find from traders.
You can purchase a gauss gun closer to the end of the game from Bison in Pripyat. You can find him in the Energetik Community Center building.
You can also pick up this rifle from dead Monolith soldiers. However, the chance of getting a rifle is very low.
In the Pripyat cinema
Go to the very north of the Pripyat region and find the Prometheus Cinema. Approach it from the south side and look for the entrance under the sign with the name of the cinema. Your goal is the closed iron gate.
Use grenades, to destroy the barricade behind the gate and go inside the room. There, on the desk, you will find one of the free copies of this weapon.
In the quest “In the name of science”
Also, you can get another gauss gun at the end of the quest “In the name of science” sciences”. You will be able to start this quest only after meeting Dvupalov and his graduate student Shcherba. After some time, Shcherba will contact you and ask for your help. Agree to help him find several collars scattered across different regions (Zaton, Malachite, Red Forest and Wild Island).
After all the collars are collected, Shcherba will send you to deal with the strange signal that is jamming the collars and to disable the device.
Here you will have two choices: disable the jammer or recalibrate it to deactivate the collars.
We advise you to disable the jammer, so that the quest continues and you can get a powerful sniper rifle.
After disabling the device, return to the Chemical Plant to Shcherba and Dvupalov and wait for the mission to end. At the end, you will receive a slightly battered Gauss gun as a reward from the professor.
How to upgrade a gauss gun
There is no standard upgrade for this weapon. The only thing you can find in the open world to upgrade the gun is an extended magazine.

An alternative version of the Gauss gun store is located in the Pripyat region, in the Druzhba Kindergarten location. Go to the eastern entrance to the building and get inside through the first window to the left of the entrance.
The store will be in the bag, under the Operator's exoskeleton.
