In Genshin ImpactThe local legends of Natlan are a kind of mini-bosses that can be encountered in the Pyro region. Killing them usually gives precious chests, secret achievements, and various upgrade materials. Often, you need to use special battle tactics to defeat them. In this guide, you will learn where to find all these opponents and how to kill them.
How to defeat the local legends of Natlan
At the moment, all these mini-bosses can be divided into two main types:
- Enemies from the Trials of the Night, that is, they are located in special limited arenas, and to defeat them you need to use certain mechanics and techniques, that is, regular blows will not do here.
- Enemies from the open world, that is, they can be encountered while exploring Natlan, and in terms of their behavior they are not much different from their prototypes, but they have increased health and attack power.
Next, we will describe each type of enemy in a little more detail so that you have a rough idea of how to fight them.
Local legends from the Trials of the Night
Before fighting these local legends, you will definitely need to study the instructions for fighting him. Without following certain rules, it will be extremely difficult to defeat such an opponent, since your normal attacks will cause minimal damage to him.
Sometimes you will be deprived of your team at all, leaving only the Traveler under control, capable of flying off to another world from two or three enemy blows. As a result, in such battles, it is not important how well you have pumped up your heroes, but your reaction speed and overall gaming experience. We have described in detail what tactics should be used against certain local legends in their separate guides, links to which are given in the article.
Local legends from the open world
As we noted above, these mini-bosses are significantly strengthened versions of standard enemies, that is, they have similar attacks and damage resistance, but their health and the damage they cause are much increased. For this reason, you should use your most pumped up characters.
Be sure to take good shielders and/or healers to your party to protect and heal your characters if necessary. Of course, it is necessary to use various dishes before the battle to increase crits, attack power and resistance to elemental damage.
Where to find local legends in Natlan
There are 16 local legends to find in this Pyro region as of patch 5.2. Their approximate locations are shown on the map below. Below we will tell you in detail how to find them.
Patronage of Ichcahuipilla
The obsidian totem that teleports you to the boss field in the Night Realm is located in a lowland north of Huitztli Hill (above the Tyrant Kukusaur arena). Before you can touch it, you need to solve a three-stage puzzle: find three moving clots of dust and use them to break the boulder in the center of the location. On the map above we have marked the places where the moles are hiding, and below we will analyze the solution in more detail.
Find a Dendro Saurian in the area or take Kinich into your party – their elemental skills will help you quickly deal with the obstacles that prevent the moles from reaching their place in front of the boulder.
- The First Dust Clump
The first objective is in the eastern half of the location: go to the pond where the capybaras are resting and interact with the phlogiston crystal (E-shka of a saurian or Kinich), and then follow it to the place where you are staying.
- Second Dust Clump
To free the second mole, climb inside the hollow tree in front of which there is a hut in the west of the location (see screenshots above). Pick up the hook on the rock (Yumkasavr's E-Shka) and return to the street.
Go to the southern side of the trunk (there is a square stone sticking out of it) and attach the resulting hook to the front wall of the barrier («F»). Then move back a little and, pointing the camera at the structure, move it to the side («E»). Inside the barrel there is another phlogiston crystal, using which («E»), you can release the second clot of dust.
Follow the movement of the mole, which will enter the nearest tile in front of the cobblestone.
- The Third Dust Clump
The last mole will appear if cleared of bugs and crystalsa rock located in the northern half of the location. If you are running as a yumkasaurus or Kinich, pick up an exploding fruit in the area and throw it at the rock (first screenshot above). The emerging shrew will stop a couple of times, and you will need to look for it – do not lose sight of the dust cloud and interact with the golden beacons that appear at the places where it stops.
When all the moles return to the center of the location, the stone will split, and in its place will appear a luxurious chest and a black obelisk – use this teleport to get to the legend “Patronage of Ichcahuipilla”.
The encounter with “Ichcahuipilla's Patronage” involves “Test of Decisions“: the enemy is able to move the player's team to the Selection Zone, from which you can almost immediately leave through the Rift. In this phase, it is possible to earn a strong damage buff by defeating as many enemies as possible (up to 15). But with each accumulated buff point, the heroes will begin to lose HP more and more rapidly. More detailed information on destroying this monster can be found in our separate guide.
Shadow of Chimalya
To get to the special arena for the battle with the “Shadow of Chimalya”, move to the center of the Ancestral Temple, and then go down to the lower level of the western half of the location – in the corner of the cliff, not far from the waterfall, there is an obsidian totem that opens the way to the Kingdom of Night.
The battle against the “Shadow of Chimalya” is called the “Trial of Sealing»: in the battle, you will need heroes of the cryo element, which will help with freezing some of the creature's skills for counterattacks, knocking down the hydro shield and protecting against powerful techniques. More detailed information on destroying this monster can be found in our separate guide.
Blessing of Atlatl
The “Blessing of Atlatl” awaits the player in the arena in the underground kingdom of Natlan, which can be accessed through a specific obsidian obelisk. To find this stone, move to the northern slope of Mount Coatepec (for example, to the Fire Ruins or Ancient Watchtower) and move to the top of the waterfall, under which there is a rest area for the Saurian companion – there is a bridge leading to an underground location in the rock. Move forward until you see a cave with lava lakes.
At the edge of the scorching magma, you can see a geosaur transmigration mark — use it to become a dragon, burrow into the ground, and move along the right wall to the area with the tent (avoid the lava to keep your dragon form).
Next, go to the right and use the dragon movement skill again: climb onto the right half of the cave and move through the narrow opening ahead, get to Phlogiston Rift, click “Enter” on it, and the saurian will automatically head to the end of the area – this is where the totem is. Touch the black stone and it will transport you to the Night Realm.
The “Atlatl's Blessing” fight is a “Test of Endurance“, which only the Traveler can participate in. While you are fighting the “Will of the Nimble Feathers”, all elemental techniques are disabled, but the hero can use Block (E-key), with which you can parry enemy attacks and accumulate stacks for Strengthened Attack in Standing (Q-key). For more information on destroying this monster, read our separate guide.
Tlatzacuillotl
To get to the arena of interest, head to the lower level in the northeastern half of the Sulfur Veins. The black obsidian that will teleport you to the Night Realm is hidden behind a stone wall inside the cliff – to free the path, you will have to solve a small puzzle.
Pay attention to the map screenshot at the beginning of the point: near the rock in the marked place there is a phlogiston cube, to interact with which you will have to transform into a geo-saurian (point the camera at the dragon → “T” on PC), or use the elemental skills of Kachina or Shilonen. Push the amber ore, and then pass the test, the process of which we showed in the video below:
You need to sequentially push 6 pulsating areas. The puzzle is not limited in time, but if you hesitate, the process will fail and you will have to repeat it from the very beginning.
After solving the puzzle, a passage will appear in the wall, and in front of it there will be a rich chest. At the end of the opened cave there is a black monument, touching which you will be transported to the Kingdom of Night.
The fight against “Tlatzacuilotl” is a “Test of Mobility” – if you dodge the enemy's attacks in time, you will receive stacks and be able to counterattack, causing increased damage. For more information on destroying this monster, read our separate guide.
Never Dying
The Spectral Beast is located in the Night Realm, and the Obsidian Obelisk that teleports to itlocated in front of a small lake on Mount Coatepec, east of the Temple of the Ancestors.
The Capybara fight is a “Test of Might” that requires the use of heavy moves to interrupt the Never Dies' charged attacks. The player will need to dodge frequently to avoid being hit by the dangerous beast's attacks, and use charged attacks or reaction damage in time to avoid the Special Technique: Colossal Clash. For more information on defeating this monster, check out our separate guide.
Chimera Bone Sihuacoatl
To get to the arena to fight Cihuacoatl Chimera Bone, go to the western slope of Mount Coatepec: first, teleport to Tetikpak Peak (see the mark on the map above), and then run towards the waters of Ameyalco. On the descent, you will see a dark obelisk with glowing symbols, through which you can move to the Realm of Night.
The area where Sihuacoatl awaits is the location of the Accuracy Test, during which you need to demonstrate your skills in destroying the dendro mounts along which the enemy moves with the Grappling Hook. The battle will begin as soon as you approach the ghost warrior. For more information on defeating this monster, please read our separate guide.
Balachko
To begin the battle with the shadow assassin, reminiscent of the Fatui agent pyro, go deep into the cave, which is adjacent to the dungeon “Sanctuary of Myriad Spirits”. From the area with a group of local bandits, you need to turn left – in front of you there will be a passage leading to the arena of the mini-boss.
As soon as you enter the earthen clearing, the battle will begin automatically. Make all the preparations in advance, or go around the cave on the left side (there is a safe climb, on which the precious chest and pyrocule were located during the first visit). You can read more detailed information on destroying this monster in our separate guide.
If the passage to the arena is closed, take a look at our separate guide – there we have discussed in detail how to find two keys to something and open the cave with Balachko.
Cosiho
The enemy is located on the territory of the Folk of the Springs tribe. Teleport to the statue of the Seven Archons at the Waters of Ameyalco, and then turn to the southeast. A round arena will be visible near the water – this is where Cosiho will appear.
Initially, the opponent is not at the location. To lure the turtle out, you need to destroy several groups of electric crystals located around the perimeter of the arena. This can be done using Pyro attacks.
When all the crystals are destroyed, Kosiho will appear in the very center of the arena, and you can engage in battle with her. More detailed information on destroying this monster can be found in our separate guide.
Sappho Among the Waves
The enemy we are interested in is sitting on the northern slope of Mount Coatepec, not far from the “Fiery Ruins” dungeon. Around it is an improvised arena marked with boulders, as well as several local animals. Here you can also find graffiti hinting at a manitou puzzle – we told you about its solution in a separate guide (item 2-3).
Sappho will not attack first, but it is quite easy to challenge her to a duel – attack firstor scare away any of the animals surrounding the lutenist. Later, if you leave during the fight, the girl will be waiting for you already in combat readiness. More detailed information on destroying this monster can be found in our separate guide.
Three Polychrome Stars
Head to the northwest part of the Pyro region. The Three Fatui are located near the teleportation point at the top of Huitztli Hill. The easiest way to get there is by using the Geo Saurian's abilities – you can pick it up at the foot of the hill.
Turn west from the teleportation point – there will be Three Polychrome Stars behind some small thickets near the edge of the map. For more information on defeating this monster, read our separate guide.
