Genshin Impact Sand Competition is the second task of the spring Triumph of the Mind event, continuing the events of the ceremonial part of the opening of the festival. Participants and reviewers will head to the desert for the second stage of the holiday challenges, and our guide will tell you how to start and successfully complete this quest.
How to start the quest “Competition in the sand”
This quest is the second part of the Spring Festival storyline in Sumeru, so you can start it only after completing the introductory part of the events. The opening of the festival and the prerequisites for starting this chain are described in the previous article. If all requirements are met, the mission will automatically appear in your quest log and will be opened in the Darshan Tournament section of the festival tab in the game events window.

Wait until 10:00 am the day after tomorrow
To keep the narrative logic, you need to wait a couple of days before the start of the next stage of the contest, so you can either pass the hours with other game activities, or rewind time forward to start the quest immediately.
Go to the tournament ground in Aaru Village
The second round of tests is carried out in the desert. Use the teleport in the village of Aaru and cross the bridge to the other side of the gorge. As soon as you get close to the jury table, a cut-scene will start, starting the next stage of the competition. This time, the participants will have to find and disable three jammers hidden underground, and the player, as before, is assigned the role of an observer.
Find Tignari
The favorite of the first stage is Tignari, so it is proposed to start watching the competition from him. Open the map, find the desired icon and put its location on tracking, so you can quickly find the target even on the mini-map. Get to the hut on the western slope of the settlement and observe the events.
Show Tignari to the resting place
Glide from the top of the canyon down to cooler, sun-sheltered crevices. Witness a dialogue worthy of being immortalized in the pages of the Mondstadt Library, then return to watching the tournament.
Find Faruzan
It's time to move on to the next member. Faruzan is now on the northern slope, as you can see on your map. Move to the nearest teleportation point and just talk to the professor. She's getting busy, so we need to move on.
Write down what Kaveh does

Faruzan's former teammate is looking for a generator on the opposite side of the mountain ridge. A pack of little pranksters became attached to the architect, and care for desert foxes outweighed the craving for victory in Kaveh.
Return to the tournament site in the village of Aaru
Now hurry up to the jury – Sayno has just reported on the first found generator, which means that the winner has been determined. But what about the other two prizes?
Write down what other tournament participants are doing
Notice the three dots next to Layla's icon on the map. The girl seems to have some news, so it's time to check her condition.
Follow the “other Layla”
Layla felt better, but at the same time she changed a lot, allowing her to take control of the mind of her other personality. Run after her while listening to an entertaining lecture on the nature of the arteries of the earth, and very soon the search for the generator will be crowned with success.
Find Kaveh and Faruzan
The last remaining participants in the desert settled down near the place where you recently left Kaveh with the cubs. Surprisingly, the favorites of this stage can now only hope for the last prize.
Return to the tournament site to find out the results
It remains to return to the jury table and sum up the results of this stage of the tournament. Depending on the point of view, the results may seem unexpected or natural, but the tournament is far from over. As a reward for covering this challenge, you will receive 30 Source Stones, 3 Hero XP, 30,000 Mora, and 6 Magic Enhancement Ore.

After completing this quest, you will immediately gain access to the next quest – Suspicious Circumstances.
