In Genshin Impact, The Secret of Tecoloapan Beach is a quest in the world of Natlan, during which you will have to unravel the secret of an island hidden in the fog. To do this, you will need to remove a number of seals by solving several puzzles, and then fight the incarnation of Wyob, who has turned into a monster of the Abyss. Walkthrough of the quest “The Secret of Tecoloapan Beach”
How to start the quest
There are no special requirements to start this mission, so you can take it on immediately after arriving in Natlan, meaning you don't even have to complete the Pyro Region quest chain. Once there, head to the western part of the region, where the Nightwind Lords settlement is located. Continue west toward the beach. You should see a foggy area ahead on the map and from the ground.
Next, transform into any Koholasaurus swimming in the water, and then start swimming towards that foggy area to the west. Soon, you will hear someone's faint voice warning you of a mysterious enemy. When he stops talking, the corresponding mission will automatically appear in your journal.
How to Solve the Secret of the Island in the Fog
Get on land and turn into an Ictomisaurus standing near a stone tombstone, then climb to the top of the stone path, hold down the attack button (LMB), point the camera at the glowing circle (you need to stand at the right angle for it to glow) and release the button. Then watch a short video and listen to a menacing and weak voice.
How to Remove the Seal from the Island
Turn around and you will see the next mark in the distance on top of the mountain. Start moving towards this large rock. You don’t have to fight the enemies you encounter along the way. In the marked area, you will find an arrow painted on the rock pointing upwards – approach it.
Transform into an Ictomysaurus if you aren't already, then hold down LMB, point the camera at the glowing rune, and release. Then press the “E” key, select an empty space, and release it to create an air flow that will allow you to rise up. Drop down to the ledge on the right and do the same with the second sign to climb even higher. The entire process is shown in the gif below.
Then restore the phlogiston and start jumping (hold the spacebar) on the wooden platforms, climbing even higher and collecting phlogiston along the way. When you reach the platform with the ladder, scan the wall on the right to create another air flow. Continue jumping upward until you reach the top of the cliff. The entire route is demonstrated in the gif below.
Once at the top, take the contents of the rich chest, and then stand on the edge of the cliff so as to connect the two parts of the circle into one, and scan it with the ability of the Ictomysaurus. This will remove the second seal. Listen to the menacing and weak voice again.
How to continue removing the seal from the island (1)
After removing the seal, fly to another cliff just below and transform into a cornucopia using the red transformation stone, then start flying towards the distant island in the northwest, indicated by the marker. Land right next to the locked chest near which two spirits are standing and deal with them.
Next, turn into an ictomisaur using the blue stone hovering near the water, fly up to the rock where the spirits previously stood, hold down LMB, point the camera at the drawing on the wall and release the button. As a result, you will unlock the passage to the cave – enter it and move forward.
After going down, listen to the faint voice, and then fly up to drawing on the floor. Use the Ictomysaurus ability on it to reveal a passage on the floor. Note that if the hole does not appear, then try to stand closer to the wall, as shown in the 3rd screenshot below (a white light with a marker should appear).
Solving the Torch Puzzle
Jump down the hole to reach a new room with a puzzle. Transform into an Ictomisaurus. On the walls in the main room you will see drawings of two torches – use the Saurian scan on either one to pick it up, then place it on the blue dot near the passage leading to the small room.
Next, enter this small room and scan the torch drawing on the wall, then return to the main hall and place the torch on any of the three blue dots. Do the same with the remaining two torch drawings. The full solution to the puzzle is demonstrated in the gif above.
Once you solve the puzzle, you will be attacked by three Saurian-like warrior spirits. Deal with them, and then jump down the hole in the floor. Transform into an Ictomysaur and scan another blue rune on the wall to remove the seal and summon an air flow.
How to Continue Removing the Seal from the Island (2)
Use the air flow to rise to the top. Open the rich chest and activate the teleporter, then start moving east to the highlighted area by walking or swimming along the river. Once you reach the desired point, enter the air flow that will appear next to the Ictomisaurus.
Then start to rise higher and higher with the help of the emerging air currents until a short cutscene begins, in which you will be shown a floating island where part of the rune you need will be located.
Land on the platform and turn into an Ictomysaurus. Then start jumping from one platform to another until an air current appears. Use it to fly to the floating island and while gliding down, scan the piece of wall with the rune part to pick it up.
Next, go down to the base of the island and place the wall on the blue dot (press “E”), then simply scan the whole glowing circle (try different angles if you can't do it the first time). The whole process is demonstrated in the gif above.
How to defeat the incarnation of Wyob (The villain who deceived countless priests)
After removing all four seals, glide towards the circular structure with the blue barrier in the center. Before doing this, we recommend that you assemble a powerful team of Pyro and/or Electro fighters in advance, as a mini-boss battle awaits you further. Land on the blue seal to immediately be transported to the Realm of Night.
Here you will find two Incarnations of Wyoob fighting each other, as one of them will be infected with the Void. Next, you will need to deal with the enemy. Overall, this is not a very strong enemy, but beware of its area attacks, which will be highlighted by blue stripes on the ground, and laser shots.
Your main task is to quickly destroy the enemy's Cryo shield. The fastest way to do this is with Pyro and Electro attacks. Sometimes the boss will send summoned mobs to your ally. In this case, try to quickly help Wyoob, and only then start destroying the main enemy again.
After destroying the enemy, talk to the weakened incarnation of Wyob. After that, you will be returned to Natlan, and a luxurious chest will appear in front of you. The quest will come to an end. As a reward, you will receive 450 adventure points, 50 primogems, 50 thousand mora, 5 hero books and 4 magic power-up ore.
In addition, the fog from the archipelago will clear, and you will see that it is called Tecoloapan Bay. You will also unlock the trophy “The Truth Cannot Be Forged”, for which they give an additional 5 Primogems.
