Genshin Impact 5.3 Release Date
HoYoverse usually releases updates every six weeks, so the next patch should be released January 1, 2025(unlikely, but no other information yet). It will be replaced by version 5.4 around February 12 of the same year.
You can pre-download the client a few days before its release. The developers will likely carry out maintenance, which can last up to 5 hours. Players are usually compensated with 300-600 Primogems.
Genshin Impact 5.3 Live Stream
miHoYo Studio almost always holds special streams 1.5-2 weeks before the release of a new update. They usually take place on Friday-Sunday. For this reason, the live stream for version 5.3 should take place December 20-22, 2024 at 15:00 Moscow time. During it, three promo codes for 300 Primogems will be posted.
New characters and banners
The miHoYo team has not yet officially introduced new characters, but it is highly likely that the following will be released in the upcoming patch: Mavuika, Sitlali, and Lanya. Insiders shared information about their abilities and reruns of other heroes.
Phase One Banners
Informants suggest that the following fighters will be featured in banners in the first half of the patch:
- 5-star – Mavuika (Pyro, two-handed sword) and Xian Yun (Anemo, catalyst).
- 4-star – Lanya (Anemo, spear).
Mavuika is the current Pyro Archon of Natlan, waging a war against the Void. According to existing leaks, she will be able to inflict a fire status on enemies using a special field, as well as mount her motorcycle and attack enemies with it. Apparently, she will be awarded the role of the main or secondary damage dealer in the squad.
As for Lanya, there is very little information about her. It is known that she is from Liyue and is a master of polearms. Perhaps we are talking about another disciple of one of the Disciples.
In “Incarnation of the Divine”, you will be able to get the signature bow Mavuiki, the name of which is still unknown, and the catalyst Sonorous Crane Key (Xian Yun signature).
Phase 2 Banners
The following fighters will most likely be released in the second half of the update (starts on January 22):
- 5-star – Sitlali (Cryo, catalyst) and Shen He (Cryo, spear).
- 4-star – unknown at this time.
Sitlali is a long-lived shaman of the Night Wind Lords clan. Leaked data indicates that she will be able to use E to create an icy web that deals regular damage to enemies, and an elemental explosion to create a shield that absorbs damage and heals allies after it breaks. Apparently, she will play the role of a sub-DD/support in the squad.
As for the weapon banner, it may feature the signature weapon Citlali and the spear Calm the Calamity (Shen He signature).
Pyro the Traveler
Apparently, it is in patch 5.3 that the main character will finally get a new element at his disposal. According to rumors, he will be able to master the Pyro element at the end of the Natlan story arc, when Mavuika gives him the heart of a god. Insider Seele notes that Pyro Traveler will be able to summon a fire ring and regularly deal Pyro damage, inflicting the corresponding status on enemies. Some call him a fire version of Xing Qiu.
New Locations
Due to the fact that version 5.3 will focus on Liyue, there will be no expansion of the Natlan map, UTeyvat shared. And this is logical, considering that patch 5.2 released three new locations at once: Tezcatepetonco Ridge, Cuahuacan Cliff, and Ochkanatlan. Apparently, the events of the new storyline will unfold in existing locations.
