In this article, we will tell you exactly when Update 5.4 will be released for Genshin Impact, what new banners, characters, events, quests, locations and opponents await players, as well as what weapons, bosses and maps for the Sacred Summon of the Seven will appear in the game. We will gradually update the article, so we recommend adding it to your bookmarks.
Note: At present, the information below is based not only on statements by the developers, but also on leaks and files obtained by data miners and testers, so it is not 100% reliable and may change over time.
Genshin Impact 5.4 Release Date
HoYoverse typically releases updates every six weeks, so the next patch is set to be released on February 12, 2025. It will then be replaced by version 5.5 around March 26 of the same year.
The client will be available for pre-download a few days before its release. The developers will likely carry out maintenance work, which can last up to 5 hours. Players are usually given compensation in the amount of 300-600 Primogems.
Genshin Impact 5.4 Live Stream
miHoYo Studio almost always holds special streams one and a half to two weeks before the release of a new update. They usually take place on Friday. For this reason, the live stream for version 5.4 should take place January 31, 2025 at 15:00 Moscow time. During it, three promo codes for 300 Primogems will be posted.
New characters and banners
The miHoYo team has not yet officially introduced new characters, but Yumemizuki Mizuki will most likely be released in the upcoming patch. Insiders shared information about her abilities and reruns of other heroes.
Phase One Banners
Informants suggest that the following fighters will be featured in banners in the first half of the patch:
- 5-star – Mizuki (Anemo, catalyst) and Risley (Cryo, catalyst) or Venti (Anemo, bow).
- 4-star – unknown so far.
There is very little information about Yumemizuki Mizuki: it is assumed that she is originally from Inazuma, but lives in Natlan, and her field of activity is related to cooking (or she works as a waitress). Her abilities allow her to deal Anemo damage from the pocket, pull enemies to one point, and heal allies. Apparently, she will be able to play the role of a sub-DD/support in the squad.
In “Incarnation of the Divine”, you will be able to get Mizuki's signature catalyst called “Spring Morning”, as well as the signature of Risley (Treasury Oversight) or Venti (Elegy of Doom).
Phase 2 Banners
The following fighters will most likely be released in the second half of the update (starts on March 5):
- 5-star – Xian Yun (Anemo, catalyst) and Furina (Hydro, one-handed sword).
- 4-star – unknown so far.
The last time Furina was shown was in mid-summer last year, and Xian Yun was only present in one banner, which was presented about a year ago. So their rerun is quite justified, but again, all this is just rumors for now.
As for the weapon banner, it may feature Furina and Xian Yun's signature weapons: the one-handed sword Glitter of Still Waters and the catalyst Sonorous Cry of the Crane.
Prayer of the Chronicles
Informants speculate that this banner in patch 5.4 may be dedicated to Inazuma, so we will see the following characters in it: Eimiya (Pyro, bow), Ayaka (Cryo, one-handed sword), Ayato (Hydro, one-handed sword), Itto (Geo, greatsword), Kokomi (Hydro, catalyst), Raiden (Electro, spear), and Yae Miko (Electro, catalyst).
New Locations
At this point in time, insiders report that the developers are unlikely to add new locations in patch 5.4, which is rather strange, given that the previous update also did without adding new areas. At the same time, the two remaining tribes in Natlan have not yet been shown.
