In Genshin Impact, The Last Night of the Turning Flame is a quest in the Natlan world, as well as part of the quest lines “Yupanqui's Turning Flame” and “A Deal with Kinich”. During it, you will have to take part in a ceremony, light the pillars of the Sacred Flame, cleanse the area of Abyssal energy, light the braziers, and defeat the Mountain King. Walkthrough of the world quest “The Last Night of the Flame of the Turning”
How to start the quest
First of all, you will need to complete the previous mission of the line called “I, the Firebringer”. After that, the new quest should start automatically. If this does not happen, try logging out of your account, wait 20-30 minutes and log back in.
Next, scroll through the time using the Paimon menu to the next day (18:00-20:00). Then move to the settlement of the Descendants of Kron and go to the elder Trinidad – chat with him.
Light the Pillars of the Sacred Flame
The game will warn you that you will not be able to change the composition of the squad in the future, so you should take a well-pumped team in advance, including Pyro damagers. The fact is that you will have to fight the Mountain King boss. If you are up for the challenge, then select the “Time to go” answer.
After moving to a new location, talk to Kinich. He will explain the rules of the ceremony. You will need to light several pillars in a certain sequence. The correct order is shown on the map. Below we will tell you in detail how to pass this test.
When you're ready, chat with Wayna standing nearby. Next, take the spark and transform into a Yumkasaurus using the transformation stone (key “T”) installed nearby. Next, you will need to light 9 pillars – to do this, you just need to walk next to them. Pull yourself to the first seal in front (key “E”), which will allow you to immediately activate the first torch.
Then, using the Jumkasaurus, light the next 3 pillars as shown in the first screenshot below. Remember to get close to the braziers to activate them. Next, turn the camera to the right and light 2 more torches along the way. Continue moving to the right side, activating 2 more braziers.
When you reach the 8th torch, red platforms will appear under your feet – start walking along them to the highest pole and light it. Note that you can watch the entire testing process in the video below.
Clear the area from the energy of the Abyss and light the braziers
Next, drop down into the crevice below, pulling yourself towards some seals. Once at the bottom, approach the marker to light the brazier. Then, head forward to the end of the waterfall and drop down into the cave. Transform back into a Yumkasaurus using the Transformation Stone. Then you will need to light 6 braziers (they are marked with a purple glow).
To do this, you will need to throw flame grenades at them. Jump down onto the green platform, pulling yourself towards the seal. Then start picking up bombs and throwing them at the torches (hold down the “E” key for an aimed throw). When you light 4 torches here, go down the waterfall even further and activate the 2 remaining flames. The video below shows the entire process.
Light the final torches and altar
Next, climb up to the red platform above to take on the final challenge. You'll need to light 6 torches by walking past them with the help of the yumkasaurus – just move from one seal to another in a circle. The gif below shows the entire process. You'll light the final altar as part of a cutscene.
Defeat the Mountain King
Next, you will enter into a fight with a boss who is an exact copy of the Ravenous Mountain King-Yumkasaurus, about which we have a separate guide. In short, we do not advise you to use Dendro characters against him, as he has high resistance to this element.
Sometimes the enemy will drop flame grenades, which you will need to set on fire with Pyro's attacks as quickly as possible. In this case, you will not only prevent the boss from performing a dangerous move, but also stun him for a while. When the Mountain King's health drops to about 5%, a new cutscene will start.
After the cutscene ends, talk to Wayna, who will be waiting for you in the settlement. Then move to the teleporter near the crevice and talk to Kinich, who is standing on the edge of the cliff.
