To complete his task, you will not only have to accumulate a considerable amount of gold, but also get topazes, diamonds, emeralds and rubies. In this guide, we will tell you in detail how to do this.

How to start the quest
First of all, you will need to find the Goblin King. He sits on the throne in his Forgotten Kingdom, which you can only get to after reaching level 10 and completing the prologue quest for Sensei Moro.
After fulfilling both requirements, teleport to the indicated area using the portal, and then run to the forge in the center of the city, but before reaching it, turn left. Continue running forward until you notice two orcs on the right, guarding the passage to a certain camp. Go through them inside, and you will find the character you need on the throne – chat with him to start the mission.
How to get topazes, diamonds and emeralds
In fact, this quest consists of several tasks at once, which are interconnected by one storyline. However, you shouldn’t count on a deep study of history here, since the Goblin King will simply constantly ask you for gold and rare ore, and each time his demands will increase:
- Give him 5,000 gold.
- Give him 10,000 gold and 3 topaz.
- Give him 15,000 gold and 5 diamonds.
- Give him 20,000 gold and 5 emeralds.
- Give him 25,000 gold and 5 rubies.
First, let's concentrate on solving the first four problems, since the extraction of topazes, emeralds and diamonds, in fact, is carried out from one source – basalt core. However, before you run into the mine for ore, be sure to stop by the potion shop in town and buy as many Luck Potions as possible., which increase luck by 20% for 300 seconds.
We remind you that each gem has its own chance of falling from different deposits. If we talk about the basalt core, then in its case the probability will be as follows:
- 1 in 143 that you will find Topaz.
- 1 in 192 that you will find Diamond.
- 1 in 363 that you will find Emerald.
As you can see, the odds are not in your favor, but you can improve them a little if you drink a good luck potion before you start mining. Plus, do not forget that when the deposit has about 40-50% strength left, you will be able to see what exactly is inside. If you notice that among the “pebbles” there is no topaz, emerald or diamond, then simply run to the next cobblestone, unless you need other ores to make money.
As for the basalt mining site, everything is simple – leave the Goblin King's camp, turn left, run forward a little, and then turn left again and start moving up. Then enter the Ruined Cave and you will almost immediately find the cobblestones you need.
How to earn gold
If we talk about making money, then collecting 20 thousand gold will be very difficult, especially at low levels. However, do not forget that when collecting topazes, emeralds and diamonds, you will probably also receive other resources. Of course, many of them will not be of great value, but under no circumstances should you sell them individually, as they can be put to more useful uses.
We recommend collecting all the useless ores in your inventory and then putting them into the forge to make Heavy Helmets and Heavy Chestpieces. The fact is that this equipment will cost much more than the ore from which it was made. Once you master the forging process, you can quickly earn large sums of money.
After completing each step, you can return to the Goblin King and give him the accumulated resources, or simply first collect all the necessary materials and only then come to him.
How to get rubies
At the end, this green beggar will become so impudent that he will ask you to bring him 25,000 gold and 5 rubies. At this stage of the game, there is a good chance that you have never encountered these gems, because they are mined only from Basalt Vein, which cannot be interacted with unless you have the appropriate equipment.
The fact is that these deposits can only be broken apart with a pickaxe that deals 78 units of damage or more. Inexpensive picks are not capable of destroying basalt veins. You will have to acquire, at a minimum, a Mythrill Pickaxe, which can be purchased for 67,500 gold in the Forgotten Kingdom store.
Having obtained the necessary tool, return to the Ruined Cave and turn into the right passage, above which there is still a sign with the inscription “Danger”. You will find yourself in Ashen Passage. Keep moving forward until you reach a dead end. Here you will find two basalt cores blocking your path – destroy them or roll over them to get to another part of the cave.
Continue forward along the only path, and in just a few seconds you will come across the first basalt vein. Drink the good luck potion again, and then start mining rubies, which drop out with a 1 in 487 chance.
Rewards for the Goblin King's quest in Forge
After mining 5 rubies and 25,000 gold, return to the Goblin King and give him the resources to complete the quest. At first he will laugh madly, and then simply disappear, but on his throne there will remain the Goblin Cave Key– pick it up. Now go right and open the lock on the stone door to enter a new area.
In this location you will discover a lot of valuable deposits that drop rare gems and ores, as well as slimes. In addition, this is where the cat Tomo is located, which is necessary to complete the task of the same name, but that’s another story.
