In Genshin ImpactThe Golden Flame Kukusaur Tyrant is a massive Saurian and elite boss added to the game with the release of the 5.0 update. Holawaki Ngubu drops the Mark of Binding Blessing, which is required to Ascend certain characters. This guide will tell you where to find this enemy, what team to prepare to fight it, the fastest way to defeat it, and what achievements you can unlock.
Where to Find the Golden Flame Kukusaur Tyrant
There are no special requirements to unlock this boss, so you can essentially get to it right after completing the Archon quest “Song of Dragon Freedom”. However, we still recommend that you start with the Natlan quest chain first.
So, first of all, get to Natlan by moving to the opened teleporter west of the Hadramavet desert. Then get to the statue of Pyro Archon, located east of the Stadium of the Holy Flame. From there, start moving along the road to the northwest. Enter the gorge ahead, in front of the entrance to which there are wooden buildings.
Continue moving forward along the canyon until you see the entrance to a cave. Enter it and continue deeper into the dungeon. Fly to the other side, where you can see a waterfall, and activate the teleporter. A little lower and ahead, you will find an empty arena with a red dragon circling above. The entire route is shown on the map above.
Kukuzavr-Tyrant of the Golden Flame Respawn
After you defeat this boss, it will respawn almost instantly – you will need to teleport to another area or re-enter the game for the huge Saurian to respawn. Also remember that you will have to spend 40 units of Primordial Resin to collect rewards from it.
Characteristics of the Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur
Even in its normal state, this enemy has 70% resistance to Pyro, but its resistance to other types of damage (including physical) is only 10%. When the boss throws a shield on himself, he becomes invulnerable to any attacks. All this imposes certain restrictions on the selection of characters for fighting this enemy.
If we talk about the combat parameters of this red dragon, it has average health indicators, but its attack power significantly exceeds similar values of the Monstrous Baptist or Unut Setekh. For example, at level 90, its base HP is 460 thousand units (the Baptist has 371 thousand), and ATK is 19 thousand units (the Baptist has 15.2 thousand). You can see all the enemy's stats in the image below (2P, 3P, and 4P show the stats when playing in co-op).
You can also try to assemble a pack for physical damage, which often consists of main DD and sub-DD related to Cryo and Electro elements. This way you will be able to not only inflict great physical damage, but also destroy the dragon's shield. We will add that archers will be very useful, who will be able to get the boss when he goes into the Golden Flame state.
As for the supports, they can be of any element, since their main task will be to increase the elemental damage of damage dealers, that is, they will still attack the enemy infrequently. This also applies to shielders and healers.
Optimal teams
Considering the above information, we have prepared several of the most suitable squads with which it will be easiest for you to deal with the Emperor of Fire and Iron. They are shown in the table below.
< /table>
Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur's Attacks and Moves
Fire Wave
The boss rises up a bit, then slams its paws on the ground, dealing Fire damage around it.
Wing Sweep
The boss does a sweeping wing slash, dealing Pyro damage, then immediately does the Fire Wave described above.
Dash
Dashes towards the character, dealing Pyro damage when attacking, then performs two sweeping wing strikes in front of him. If the first strike hits the player, the second strike will deal half as much damage.
Spin and Dash
The boss first spins around himself, dealing area damage, and then flies towards the character like a drill. Just run to the side to avoid getting hit by the enemy.
Golden Flame State
The boss enters the Golden Flame form, receiving a fire shield that gives immunity to any damage. This mode lasts 45 seconds, but destroying the shield will cause Holawaka Ngubu to exit this state early.
After the transformation, the dragon flies into the sky, so it will no longer be possible to hit it with melee attacks. In this form, it will fire 2 volleys of fiery homing feathers, dealing Pyro damage. Then it will release a 3rd huge feather, which deals increased explosive damage.
This feather will remain floating above the ground, and you can destroy it with elemental reactions. The dragon will always dive towards the feather to pick it up. If it is destroyed, the saurian will continue to fly near the ground, allowing you to deal melee damage to it. Otherwise, it will perform an explosive attack and take off again.
Let's add that the fastest way to destroy the fire shield of the Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur is with Hydro attacks. Next in effectiveness are Electro attacks. The barrier is destroyed the slowest by Anemo, Geo, Dendro and Cryo attacks.
How to defeat the Golden Flame Tyrant Kukusaur
Preparing for battle
Before the battle, you can eat dishes that increase attack power, critical damage and critical hit chance. It would be a good idea to drink potions that increase certain elemental damage to strengthen your damage dealers. In this case, the following will be useful:
- Whirlpool Oil – increases Hydro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
- Forest Oil – Increases Dendro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
- Frost Oil – Increases Cryo damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
- Thunder Oil – Increases Electro damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
- Essence of Stillness – Increases Geo damage by 25% for 5 minutes.
Soon, Holawaka Ngubu will transform into a golden dragon and fly into the sky. If you have an archer, switch to him and try to launch several charged arrows at him to deal elemental damage. However, doing so is dangerous, as the boss will launch homing projectiles at you.
After two volleys, he will release one large feather at you, which will not disappear after landing on the ground. Start attacking it with elemental attacks to destroy it. If you are not sure that you will have time to destroy it, then try to run away from it in time, as the boss will soon fly up to it and cause a powerful explosion.
