In Wuthering Waves, a guarantor is a special system that makes it possible with a 100% probability to get a 5-star character or weapon through a certain number of Convene ). In this guide, we will tell you how this mechanism works, and how the soft guarantor and 50/50 in WuV are calculated.
In the final section, using the example of different banners, we will indicate the number of twists and Astrits required to obtain certain heroes and weapons. This will allow you to at least roughly calculate your future costs.
How the guarantor system works in Wuthering Waves
This refers to the number of Convokes you need to complete during the gacha before you are guaranteed to get a fighter or weapon of 4 or 5 star rarity. However, there is always a chance of obtaining these objects without reaching the appropriate number of attempts.
Number of Convocations for a guaranteed drop:
< ul>
This means that if after the 9th convocation you still have not received a 4-star weapon or hero, then on the 10th attempt you are guaranteed to get drop with a rarity of 4 stars or higher.
This also applies to rarer items – if after the 79th spin you still have not received 5-star equipment or a fighter, then your next attempt is 100% likely to bring legendary drop for you.
Important: These rules apply to the standard “Tidal Chorus” banner, event Calls for characters and weapons, as well as the second newcomer banner with a hero selection selector and the permanent banner with a weapon selection selector.
Why you need to know the guarantor
By completing convocations in standard or event banners, you will, in any case, sooner or later, receive a legendary weapon or hero. However, knowing approximately how many attempts you have left before the drop appears, you will be able to spend your available astrits and tides (Tides) more efficiently.
How to determine the number of spins before the guarantor
You don’t You need to record information about all the characters and weapons you receive, as it can be viewed in the banner menu in the “Records” section. The said page lists all the 4 and 5 star drops so you can easily calculate how many attempts you have left to get the hero or weapon you want.
Note: Each banner has its own guarantor counter ( read more about this below), so on the left side of the screen you can select the required type of Convocation.
Soft Guarantor
While the base chance of getting a 5-star character is 0.8%, players have discovered a hidden drop system called soft pity that increases this chance after a certain number of attempts. After the 64th spin in the event, standard and beginner banners, the probability of 0.8% will gradually increase to 20%, and then reach 100% on the 80th jump (hard guarantee or hard pity), that is, starting from 65- th attempts, you will have an increased chance of getting a 5-star hero.
The same applies to the weapons banner, and it has a soft the guarantor also starts around the 65th spin, also increasing the base 0.8% to 20% on the final attempts, and then reaching a 100% chance at the 80th jump.
Important: If on the 10th attempt you received a legendary rather than an epic character (weapon), then a 4-star item is guaranteed to drop on your next spin.
50/50 rule: random characters drop
When you receive a hero with a 5-star rarity in an event Convocation, there is a 50% chance that it will be a fighter that does not belong to the banner on which you are making spins. This situation is called the 50/50 rule.
If you did not receive the hero indicated in the banner, then you are guaranteed to get it at the next soft or hard guarantor. In this case, the countdown will begin from scratch.
An illustrative example: Let's say you started spinning the “Prevail the Lasting Night” banner, hoping to knock out Jiyan, but on the 50th attempt you unexpectedly received an Encore. This situation is a 50/50 loss, so you will need to complete from 1 to 80 convocations again in order to now have a 100% chance of getting Jiyan.
If you are lucky and you win 50/50, then the guarantee for the next drop of a specific hero in the event banner will still be 50%. This will continue until you draw a standard legendary character again.
Note: This rule does not apply to the second beginner banner and weapon banners, since in them you can independently choose the desired character and weapon, which are guaranteed to drop from the 1st to the 80th attempt.
Banner counters and transfer of the guarantor
Each banner (event and standard for weapons and characters) has its own transferable guarantor counter. It resets when you receive a drop of 5 star rarity.
Note: This rule does not apply to newbie banners that disappear from the list after the 50th and 80th attempts. But on the basis of the first, the reroll method is built, which allows you to get the desired 5-star hero at the very beginning of the game.
If a temporary banner on a hero or weapon ends, its counter is transferred to the next event banner. Let's say you spent 68 jumps to drop Yinlin, but didn't have time to get it because the convocation on Changli began. In this case, you will not need to start all over again, that is, the Magistrate's Advisor is guaranteed to appear on the 12th spin (unless a soft guarantee occurs or you do not lose 50/50).
Add that you do not have to spin one banner sequentially for the guarantor system to work, since attempts for each of them are counted separately. Obtaining a rare character or weapon in one of them resets the counter only in that one, without affecting the others.
Note: The counter does not have any time limit, which means you can easily miss several banners and still have a guarantee. However, some information on dropped items may be lost in the history, which will make it more difficult for you to keep a personal count.
Weapon guarantee in the event and standard banner
With weapons everything is much simpler. The developers decided not to torture players like in Genshin Impact, so in the event banner you are guaranteed to receive the 5-star item indicated in it on the 80th spin (or earlier). But epic weapons have a 50/50 system, that is, if on the 10th attempt (or earlier) you did not receive any of the three options marked in the banner, then it will appear with a 100% probability on the next 10th convocation (or earlier).
As for the permanent standard banner, everything is very easy here too – choose one of 5 types of weapons to choose from and start performing spins, and on the 80th attempt (or earlier) you are guaranteed to receive the selected item. Epic characters and weapons are randomly selected from a list (shown below).
Examples of calculating the guarantor for different banners
Convocation events: Character
As an example, let's take the “Prevail the Lasting Night” banner, which allows you to get characters such as Jiyan, Mortefi, Danjin and Chixia with an increased probability. The table below shows how many twists and astrits you will have to spend to be guaranteed to receive the specified heroes.
Character | Number of attempts to get the guarantor | Astrit |
---|---|---|
160 | 25,600 | |
Any 5-star character | 80 | 12,800 |
20 | 3,200 | |
Any 4-star character | 10 | 1,600 |
Weapon banner
As an example, let's take a banner that allows you to get weapons such as Verdant Summit, Augment, Hollow Mirage and Dauntless Evernight with an increased probability. The table below shows how many twists and astritis you will have to spend to be guaranteed to obtain the specified weapon.
Weapon | Number of attempts to get the guarantor | Astrit |
---|---|---|
80 | 12,800 | |
Any 5-star weapon | 80 | 12,800 |
20 | 3,200 | |
Any 4-star weapon | 10 | 1,600 |

Light cones and characters | Number of attempts until the guarantor | Star Jades |
---|---|---|
Any 5-star character or weapon from the list | 80 | 12,800 |
Any 4-star character or weapon from the list | 10 | 1,600 |
We hope that the information about the guarantor in Wuthering Waves will help you better distribute convocations to obtain the desired characters and weapons.
