Where to get a gun in Silent Hill 2
If there is no key to the corridor (2nd floor)
The gun is located in the Woodside Residential Complex in apartment number 217. If you just found yourself in this building, then to get the gun you need to find the key to the corridor on the second floor. Take the floor maps from the wall in the lobby, explore the concierge’s room and use the main staircase to go up to the second floor.
On the second floor, go to apartment 202. In the far corner of its living room is a chest of drawers, in the drawer of which you will find the key to the exit to the garbage chute. Do not forget to take the flashlight with you, which is hanging on the mannequin.
Go down to the first floor again in the lobby and go to the right side of the corridor, passing the concierge room. Just around the corner there will be a door to the courtyard of the complex, open it with the key you found.
In the yard, move the trash can to climb into the window of apartment 112. After exploring it, go to the corridor, go right and visit room 109, where you can find ammo. Returning to the corridor, go to the iron grate and try to get the keys lying on the floor. After a short cutscene, open the door nearby and go out into the yard.
Go back to the lobby, but turn left immediately after entering the building. Now the door to the right side of the corridor on the first floor is open. Go to the iron bars and pick up the Keys to the corridor (2nd floor). On the way back, don't forget to visit room 108, which contains the Golden Apple Handle.

If you have a key to the corridor (2nd floor)
If you managed to get the key to the corridor (2nd floor) in the Woodside Residential Complex, then getting to the pistol will not be difficult. Go up to the second floor using the main stairs in the lobby, turn left and open the door from the corridor using the key. Almost at the very end of this corridor (before reaching the iron grate with Pyramid Head) is apartment number 213.

In apartment 213, go through the gap in the wall, after which you will find yourself in the corridor again. Go along the corridor to the end and enter apartment 217. There in the middle A red cart with a gun will be waiting for you in the room. Now you will be able to deal with monsters much more effectively.
