Halloween has finally arrived at99 Nights in the Woods. And with it came the Halloween Update, which introduced a new temporary store in the game where you can exchange candies for themed items, furniture, and even a unique class. Everything is decorated in the spirit of the holiday – pumpkins, cobwebs, a little spookiness and a lot of fun. If you want to decorate your hideout or just collect rare items, now is the time.
How the Halloween Store works
To get to the store, talk to the new NPC dressed as Jack Pumpkin – Happy the Halloween Guy in the lobby. This is a local lover of candy and holiday atmosphere, which will open access to trade.
The store offers 14 items, but not all are available immediately: 6 can be purchased now, and the remaining 8 appear gradually – two new items are added every two days.
Some of them are marked with a clock icon – this means that they will disappear after the end of the event, so if you want to get them, it is better not to delay.
What can you buy with candy
Candyis the main currency of the event. Below is a list of items available at the start of the update:
Class Trick or Treater – cost: 30 candies; a new class that allows you to complete quests faster and get more candy for visiting houses. Pay attention to the clock icon: the class is temporary.
Jack-o’-Lantern (Jack-o’-Lantern) – cost: 20 candies; classic halloween jack-o'-lantern. Can be placed as decoration in a shelter.
Spooky Table – cost: 20 candies; festive table covered with cobwebs. Pairs well with other Halloween items.
Creepy chairs(Spooky Chairs) – cost: 20 candies; a set of chairs matching the same style.
Pumpkin Bunny – cost: 150 candies; turns your tamed bunny into a pumpkin themed pet.
Skeleton Wolf – cost: 500 candies; Rare and expensive option: your wolf gets the skeleton style. It looks ominous, but impressive.
The developers promise to add the remaining items gradually, so it is worth checking the store updates from time to time.
How to get candy
The system for obtaining candy is also tied to Halloween traditions, namely, Trick or Treat. To start collecting sweets, you need to:
- Get candles. They drop from cultists or are in chests
- Light up NPC houses. Use candles to light up their homes
- Knock on their door at night. If the house glows, you can ask for a treat and receive candy
In addition, candy can be found in the game lobby: look around every corner, look behind the scarecrow or the board with updates. Sometimes sweets appear there after the end of the round – the exact respawn time is unknown, but if you are careful, you can collect a lot of sweets.
And finally, there is a little secret: if you talk to Happy the Halloween Guy in a certain order, he will give you three candies for free. Here is the correct sequence of dialogue:
- “I have a question”
- “Who are you?” (Who are you?)
- “How do you stay so happy?” (How do you manage to stay so happy?)
- “Way too deep man, can I have some candy?” (Too deep, can I have some candy?)
This is a one-time reward, but that makes it no less pleasant, especially at the beginning, when every candy counts.
Is it worth spending time on the event?
Yes, and how. The Halloween event is not just a reason to collect decorations, but also a chance to get a unique class and pet customization. Even if you are not a fan of decoration, the new class gives a tangible advantage when farming candies and candles.
If you are a beginner and are just starting to understand the mechanics of the game, we recommend that you first read our guide for new players – it explains the basics of survival, collecting resources and interacting with NPCs. Then you can make the most of the Halloween event.
