Task “Hot on the heels of following” in ARC RaidersThis is one of the research type quests where you have to find traces of ARC forces activity. At first glance, the task seems simple, but due to the lack of direct clues, many players spend a lot of time trying to figure out where exactly to look for the necessary objects. In this guide, we explain in detail where you need to go and what to interact with in order to successfully complete the mission.
General information and preparation for the quest
The quest is given to Shani after completing several starting quests and opens access to a new area called the Blue Gate. To complete the mission, you need to visit two points – Wasteland and Adorned Ruins. In each location you need to find a specific object and interact with it.
You don't have to destroy enemies or collect resources, you just need to explore the environment. However, it is worth remembering that both locations are on the outskirts of the map, where ARC patrols and individual groups of opponents are still encountered. Therefore, it is recommended to take light equipment and weapons with a good rate of fire in order to quickly fight back in case of an attack.
Wasteland – traces of ARC activity
The first point of the route is at Wasteland, located in the western part of the Blue Gate region. This point is not clearly marked on the map, but the area itself is visible due to the massive metal remains – this is the body of the destroyed ARC.
When you arrive at the place, examine the giant machine. Next, you need to find the articular part of the leg – the hinge, which lies not far from the fur. This is where the interaction zone is located. When approaching, a prompt “Inspect the object” will appear. Press the interact key and wait for the short inspection animation to complete. After this, the game will count the first part of the task as completed.
The area around the Wasteland is relatively safe, but sometimes drones and raiders appear here. If they notice you, it is better not to engage in battle; it is easier to take cover behind the wreckage of the hull or wait until the enemies leave the area. Since the quest does not require survival, you don’t have to worry about leaving the raid after inspecting the object – your progress is saved immediately.
Adorned Ruins – Communication Device
The second part of the quest takes place in the south of the Wasteland, in an area called Adorned Ruins. This is a relatively small area with many metal fragments and an antenna sticking out of a pile of rubble. Your goal is a small computer terminal on the table next to the antenna.
As you get closer, you will see cables running from the terminal to the central part of the destroyed equipment. This is the right guideline. Press the interaction key to examine the communication device. After a short pause, a notification about the completion of the mission will appear.
As in the first part, combat here is optional. There are few enemies nearby, but some patrols may appear from the east. It is better to act quickly: approach, activate the terminal and move towards the safe zone. There is no need to leave the map to complete the task – progress is updated instantly.
Rewards
After completing both goals, the mission is considered completely completed. Returning to Shani, you will receive rewards:
Looting Mk.2 module – increases inventory capacity and adds an additional slot for a safe pocket.
Medium shield – provides increased protection compared to light, but slightly reduces the character’s mobility.
