In Lethal Company, you need to sell things and scrap metal to get the money needed to improve the ship and buy useful tools. However, the game doesn't give any hints on how to do this. For this reason, we decided to prepare a detailed guide on selling items. You will also learn when is the best time to sell your accumulated scrap for maximum profit.
How to sell things (scrap metal) in Lethal Company
The player is an employee of a corporation that collects scrap metal and other rubbish on abandoned satellites. The credits received are necessary to discover new moons and planets, as well as upgrade the starship and purchase additional items. At the very beginning of the game, you will need to collect a starting quota of 130 units of local currency.
Having collected enough scrap, return to your ship and go to the terminal – interact with it to go to the command menu. Then write the word moons in it, and you will see “The Company building” at the top of the list, next to which is the percentage (we will explain their meaning below).
Next, write the commands company and confirm to send the transport ship to the company building. Then look at the screen to the left of the terminal. If you see the inscription “Where the Company resides” on it, then you have arrived at the right place and can disembark from the ship by pulling the lever just below.
Note: After interacting with the terminal, you can also immediately enter the company building command to fly to the desired planet.
After landing, take the things you want to sell and get off the transporter. Next, go to the scrap reception area, highlighted in red, and place all the items on the counter (key “E”). After this, ring the bell 1-2 times and immediately move away from the counter. Soon a tentacle will appear that will take all the scrap metal.
If you press the bell for a long time or stand next to the counter, you will anger the monster, and then he can grab you and kill you. If you have more items for sale, do not immediately place them on the counter, but wait a few seconds and only then press the bell again. Try to also fulfill the quota given to you, otherwise you will receive disciplinary action.
When is the best time to sell things
Let's return to the percentages that we mentioned just above – they indicate at what cost the company will purchase the collected items from you. This figure will grow over time and only on the last day will it reach 100%, that is, then you will be able to sell scrap metal for its full price.
Note: The percentages are also displayed at the scrap metal counter near the company building.
In theory, to get the maximum benefit, it is best to wait until the last day and only then fly to the company building. But if you die, you will lose all accumulated resources. For this reason, when playing alone, we strongly recommend that you not try to wait that long, but sell materials as soon as you slightly exceed the quota.
If you are playing with friends, you can take a risk and hold out until the last day, but in this case one of the players must definitely stay on the transporter and monitor the terminal. Even if all the other crew members die, he will be able to fly away from the satellite, while retaining the collected scrap metal.
Sale prices
Note that different things are sold for different prices, so it makes sense to look for more expensive “junk”. The table below shows the names of all materials and their possible cost.
