After puzzles and a boss fight in the Shimizu Family House, in the final part of Silent Hill f the player will have to face an interesting mystery – a mural in the Hall of Treasures. In a mural with a procession of foxes, you need to insert three emblems in a strictly defined order. Below is a detailed guide for all possible endings.
A brief overview of the task and mechanics of the mural puzzle
You see a large mural with many foxes. The mural has 9 slots into which you can insert three previously found emblems: Coat of Arms with a fox mask, Coat of Arms with a white sparrow and Coat of Arms with a black sparrow.
A hint for the correct position of the coats of arms, as usual, is a small poem located to the left of the mural. It speaks in images and the solution requires interpretation of the lines in the context of the scene. The correct location depends on your ending in the game, which is determined before you get to Shimizu's house
Solution for each ending
1 ending (1 playthrough on any difficulty, Home to your nest)
Hint:“Prove the purity of your intentions with three coats of arms. Show me what is hidden in the depths of your heart. Let the line of foxes guide you. Offer your coats of arms and bare your soul. The black bird wants to take the white bird. The white bird prefers to resist. The fox leads his followers to triumph. He doesn’t notice that two birds are in conflict.”
Where to put the emblems:
- Fox mask – in the slot of the fox, who leads the whole group, in his fan
- White sparrow – the fox on the right side of the mural, which he holds lantern
- Black Sparrow – in the slot in the back of the fox, slightly to the right of the fox who holds the lantern
2 ending (Fox Wedding)
Hint: “The black bird is finally in the cage. The satisfied fox opens his fan. The white bird is in a daze. Everything changed completely while she was sleeping.”
Where to put the emblems:
- Fox mask – in the slot with the fan of the very first fox on the left
- White sparrow – a fox with a lantern, behind the sitting fox
- Black sparrow – in a lantern, which is held by a fox in a palanquin
3 ending (The fox wet his tail)
Hint:“The white bird breaks free from its cage. She is haunted by her own shadow. The fox raises the lantern, watching them fly away. Now he can’t change anything.”
Where to put the emblems:
- White sparrow – in the rightmost lantern slot held by the running fox
- Black sparrow – in the lantern slot diagonally from where you inserted the white emblem sparrow
- Fox mask – in a raised lantern in the hands of the fox above the palanquin
4 ending (Silence in Ebisugaoka)
Hint: “Two birds trust each other with secrets in their shells. The fox watches them in the light of the lantern. No one knows when the egg will hatch. Even the birds themselves don’t know when this will happen and whether it will happen at all.”
Where to put the emblems:
- White sparrow – in the lantern located at the bottom of the palanquin
- Black sparrow – in the slot inside the palanquin itself, next to the face of the fox sitting inside
- Fox mask – in the raised lantern in the hands of the fox, who stands above the palanquin
When the last emblem is in place and the mural has disintegrated, you will gain access to the door behind the mural and can continue to progress through the story.
