In Genshin Impact“Ichcahuipilla's Patronage” is another local legend of the Pyro region, with whom you can measure your strength in a combat test in the arena in the Kingdom of Night. During the fight with this boss, the player will have to understand all phases of the battle, learn how to gain power points in the Selection Zone and quickly leave the space so as not to lose too much HP and successfully use the damage buff for enhanced attacks on “Will of the Strong Scales”.
Thanks to our guide, you will learn how to find and defeat “Ichcahuipilla's Patronage”: we will consider all the attacks of the elite Dendro incarnation of Wyob, select squads and give advice on the battle and the conditions for completing three named achievements from the collection “Duelist I”.
Achievements “Ichcahuipilla's Patronage”: how to unlock all
The battle against “Ichkauipilly's Patronage” will increase your progress towards completing the “Duelist I” achievement collection, but only if you consistently fulfill the following requirements:
- 1st achievement (+5 Primogems): defeat “Ichkauipilly's Patronage” for the first time;
- 2nd achievement (+10 Primogems source): defeat “Ichcahuipilla's Patronage” by collecting 10 power-up points in the Selection Zone at least once per battle;
- 3rd achievement (+20 Primogems): defeat “Ichcahuipilla's Patronage” without being harmed by his combat moves.
You will have to select a separate fight to unlock each achievement; you cannot get all three at once. They are given out in turn, so you cannot jump from the first to the third and only then complete the second.
Where is “Ichcahuipilla's Patronage”
The obsidian totem that transports you to the boss field in the Night Realm is located in the lowlands north of Huitztli Hill (above the Tyrant Cuckoo Arena). Before you can touch it, you need to solve a three-stage puzzle: find three moving dust clots and use them to break the boulder in the center of the location. On the map above we have marked the places where the moles are hiding, and below we will analyze the solution in more detail.
Find a Dendro Saurian in the area or take Kinich into your party – their elemental skills will help you quickly deal with the obstacles preventing the moles from reaching their place in front of the boulder.
- The First Dust Clot
The first objective is in the eastern half of the area: go to the pond where the capybaras are resting and interact with the phlogiston crystal (Zavrian or Kinich's E-Shka), then follow it to the stopping point.
- Second Dust Clump
To free the second mole, climb inside the hollow tree in front of which there is a hut to the west locations (see screenshots above). Pick up the hook on the rock (Yumkasaurus E-Shka) and return to the street.
Go to the south side of the trunk (there's a square stone sticking out of it) and attach the resulting hook to the front wall of the obstacle («F»). Then move away a little and, pointing the camera at the structure, move it to the side («E»). Inside the barrel is another phlogiston crystal, using which («E»), you can release the second dust clot.
Follow the movement of the mole, which will enter the nearest tile in front of the cobblestone.
- The Third Dust Clump
The last mole will appear if you clear the bugs and crystalsa rock located in the northern half of the location. If you are running as a yumkasaurus or Kinich, pick up an exploding fruit in the area and throw it at the rock (first screenshot above). The emerging shrew will stop a couple of times, and you will need to look for it – do not lose sight of the dust cloud and interact with the golden beacons that appear at the places where it stops.
When all the moles return to the center of the location, the stone will split, and in its place will appear a luxurious chest and a black obelisk – use this teleport to get to the legend “Ichkauipilly's Patronage”.
The fight with “Ichkauipillia's Patronage” implies “Test of Decisions“: the enemy is able to move the player's team to the Selection Zone, from which you can almost immediately leave through the rift. In this phase, it is possible to earn a strong damage buff by defeating as many opponents as possible (up to 15). But with each accumulated buff point, the heroes will begin to lose HP more and more rapidly.
Ichkauipillia's Patronage Combat Techniques
This legend has a rather small list of attacks, but she is able to quickly switch between them. All of the Will of the Strong Scales' attacks are focused on long-range combat, let's take a closer look at them:
- Dendro Beam Shot
The only single attack is a charged volley of dendro beam. And although the technique is linear, Wyob is able to quickly turn towards the target almost before the shot.
- Area attacks
Basically, the legend casts various dendro fields in front of him. One of these techniques begins with a green mark under the hero's feet, and then in its place (even if you move) a radius of destruction appears – first one (pulsating burst of dendro energy, slightly expanding with each tick), and after a short interval two more in a row (not expanding).
And the second technique with fields is a simultaneous attack, at the beginning of which 7 areas of damage appear on the arena at once (in the shape of the letter Y), which explode after a couple of seconds with dendro damage. This attack always has blind spots to avoid damage.
- Selection Zone
The most important move of the legend is moving the opponent to the Selection Zone. An animation runs across the screen, and we find ourselves in an area with a changed color filter. The main enemy disappears, and a pair of hostile warriors from the Descendants of Kron tribe appear in the arena.
After a few seconds, you will see the Night Soul Rift – you can leave the zone through it at any time.
Squad selection
When choosing heroes for the battle with the Patronage, take into account some features of the duel: the player should not rush to leave the Selection Zone, but if you get carried away with attacks and do not monitor your health loss, you can easily say goodbye to your main fighters. In this fight, it is very important to have one or several pumped up healers.
Note that shields do not protect against periodic decrease in HP.
To control the moment of exiting the Selection Zone, it is better to be as close to the rift as possible and destroy enemies from afar – archers or catalysts will help with this. If your main damage dealers hit close, try to take into your squadcharacters with accelerated movement skills (Ye Lan, Monu, Ayaka, Linette or Shilonen) – this way you will get to the rift faster and be able to dodge the blow of the boss, who often casts attacks immediately after we appear.
Now let's go over the pack options and gameplay:
- Epic squads
MAIN-DD | SUB-DD | SUPPORT | HILL/SHIELD |
---|---|---|---|
Yan Fei | Fischl | Bennett | Cookies |
Keya | Xing Qiu | Mika | Barbara |
Focus on pyro + electro or hydro + cryo hero combinations – the reactions of these elements are effective against the dendro boss. Above are a couple of build options, each of which has two healers – healing is more important than damage in this battle, because your attacks will already be greatly buffed after accumulating points in the Selection Zone.
- Squads with Legendary Heroes
MAIN-DD | SUB-DD | SUPPORT | HILL/SHIELD |
---|---|---|---|
Gan Yu | Kazuha | Shen He | Kokomi |
Eimiya | Ye Lan | Furina | Xian Yun |
The same principle applies to legendary heroes: give preference to packs from freezing, burning, or melting. If your damage dealers are melee heroes, and among other things, there is no one with fast movement, you can add anemo characters with controlled tie (Kazuha, Sukrose, or Venti) to the squad to knock enemies into piles or pull them closer to the rift.
If you don't have strong healers like Kokomi, you can choose heroes with partial healing. For example, one Furina is unlikely to be able to cover the need for HP regeneration from E-shka, but in the company of Xian Yun, Kuki or Qi Qi, several healing options will appear + the heroes will be useful to varying degrees in various reactions or the destruction of small opponents.
How to defeat “Ichkauipilly's Patronage”
Before any battle with the legend, do not forget to use food buffs: in this fight it would be a good idea to eat something to increase defense and restore the dodge scale, a buff to the main damager element and crits. Don't forget to stock up on food for healing, so that you can heal the characters in time if the healing skills have not yet rolled over.
The best tactics for getting the first and third achievements: dodge during the boss's attack phase, then gain an acceptable amount of buff points in the Selection Zone (if without risks, then no more than 6-7), and after exiting the rift, attack the enemy as quickly as possible (the boost lasts for a short time, about 20 seconds).
And most importantly: take your time, because when exiting the rift, you can easily miss the attack radius under your feet and catch the dendro status – and this is a reason to restart the challenge during the third achievement.
Tactics for getting the second achievement
So, according to the conditions of the second achievement, you need to “defeat 10 Night Spirits of the Abyss.” Each defeated small mob is equal to one point of enhancement (curse), the number of which is displayed on the scale in the upper corner of the screen. Therefore, if you destroy 10 enemies, you will receive a 10th level of damage buff (you can get no more than 15 in total).
Remember that as you increase your boost points, you start to lose HP faster: the active character suffers the most, but the debuff slowly affects the rest of the squad as well.
When in the Selection Zone, try to stand right on the rift and attract mobs to yourself – this makes it easier to catch the moment and get out of the trial without dying. We showed how to do this in the video above.
In addition to periodic HP depletion, you will be damaged by the dendro glade under the enemies – do not step on it if you attack with ranged heroes, or take a pyro character for attacks who can get rid of the green area under the mobs. In the video above we showed how Eimiya removes a green field under an enemy using pyro attacks.
How to repeat the fight with “Ichkauipilly's Patronage”
If you need to restart the battle or return to Teyvat, click “Retry the trial” under the mini-map (English key “P” on PC) during the battle – the squad will move to the black monument, with which you can restart or leave by returning to the totem in the north of Huitztli Hill.
