Walking through the quest “Accidents Are Always Unexpected”
How to start the quest
Before you can take on this mission, you will need to meet certain conditions, namely:
- Reach at least Adventure Rank 40 (or 28 if you use the Quick Start feature; available until Patch 6.0).
- Reach Natlan.
Once you've met the above requirements, head to the western part of the Pyro Region and activate the Pyro Archon statue southeast of the Nightwind Lords settlement. Then, head west and jump off the cliff below. Fly toward the ledge with the wooden ladder and walk up to the platform (see screenshots below).
Here you will find a tablet that tells about the flying competition, and a red transformation stone that allows you to turn into a cornucopia. Use it, and then fly towards the ring with the pyrocoleum hanging inside and fly through it (the gif below shows the whole process).
Immediately after this, a conversation with Temach will start. Chat with him and agree to participate in training trials to receive a reward. After that, the corresponding task will appear in your mission log.
Go to the training track and try it out
After talking to Temach, while still in your Kukusaur form, go to the gaseous phlogiston and enter it to climb up. Once you're up the slope, chat with Sisyk and tell her you're ready for the challenge.
Transform into a cornucopia using the transformation stone, then fly a little higher (Space) and go into sprint (RMB), then start flying through the rings, getting points and restoring your phlogiston. At a certain point, reconnaissance targets (rings from the mark) will start appearing, which you will need to destroy with the attack button (LMB).
After destroying a few, you will see rings leading to landing. First, hover over them, and then start descending by holding down the corresponding button (Ctrl). As a result, having scored 100 points in each task of the trial, you will successfully complete it. The gif above shows a full walkthrough.
Find Lamizana and get a reward
After the trial, go down and approach Lamizana (a man in blue clothes). Chat with him. Then open the rich chest to collect your reward. Next, talk to Taruka, who is standing nearby. Once you do this, you will complete the quest.
As a reward for completing the task, you will receive 200 adventure points, 30 primogems and 35 thousand mora. Plus, you will have access to the next mission in the chain called “Make it in 24 hours”.
