In Genshin Impact, Journey to the Mysterious Island is a quest chain in Natlan and part of a larger story called “Where the Springs Return.” During it, you will visit the village of Mualani, study the work of the phlogiston nodes, go to the underground cave and thoroughly explore it. How to Start the “Journey to the Mysterious Island” Chain
Before you can begin the first quests of this line, you will need to meet several conditions, namely:
- Reach at least Adventure Rank 40.
- Complete the world quests “Seekers of the Mysterious Island” and “The Legend of the Mysterious Island”.
- Complete the Archons' quest “The Black Stone Buried Under the White”, which is the second chapter of the fifth volume.
Once you have completed the specified requirements, you should automatically receive a new mission. However, it is possible that you will first have to go to a certain location to invite Mualani to be your guide. We will tell you more about the beginning after the release of patch 5.0…

As part of the first mission of the story, you will have to invite Mualani and ask her to be your guide to get to the mysterious island. There you will be able to visit several shops. The second mission will send you to the place indicated by Mualani. You will need to try to go deep into the valley, following your guide. Then carefully study the graffiti on the stone wall. The Riddle of the Sky and the Sea
Using the clues found in the valley, Mualani was able to find the next location. Head to the designated point and activate the phlogiston node, then complete the spiritual path test. Use the node to change routes and explore the whirlpool. As a reward for completing this mission, you will receive 450 adventure points, 38 thousand mora, 4 hero books and 8 units of magic ore enhancement. The Truth about the Mysterious Island
You will be able to find out the location of the mysterious island, so you will have to enter the huge whirlpool and begin exploring the underground cave. Take a good look around and deal with the monsters that appear. Then save Viramdra, catch up with her and exit the cave. At the end, take a photo for memory.
