In Honkai: Star Rail, Light Cones are a local equivalent of a weapon that can significantly increase a character's stats and give them a special passive skill. In this guide, you will learn how to get these items of equipment and choose the best among them for certain heroes.
What are light cones
We note right away that the weapon system in this project is noticeably simpler than in Genshin Impact. There are several reasons for this. First, any type of light cone only increases three specific stats: HP (health), Attack Power, and Defense. Therefore, you will only need to look at which of the items gives a more significant increase in the parameters of the hero. Usually, the higher the rarity of the equipment (3, 4 and 5 stars), the more it increases the attributes.
Secondly, all light cones, like characters, are divided into several main Paths, and the weapon's passive bonus will only work if its type matches the fighter's class. In theory, you can give, for example, the Cheetah (Conservation) the “Importance of Breakfast” (Erudition) card, but it will only increase his stats, that is, the passive with increased damage will not work.
Thus, all this greatly simplifies the selection of weapons for a specific character, because you don’t have to think which of several dozen heroes to give one or another light cone – the choice will be only among a few fighters (at least for now ).
We add that the developers decided to make the task even easier for the players by applying images of the characters themselves to whom they fit on many light cones. For example, the Sacrifice's Gaze depicts Sampo, who will receive many benefits if he uses this “gun”. However, this rule doesn't always work, so you shouldn't rely solely on it when selecting weapons.
How to get light cones in Honkai: Star Rail
There are several ways to get different types of weapons in the game. Some of them allow you to consistently obtain rare light cones for your characters, while others allow you to get them only once. Below we will consider each method separately.
Banners
It can be called the main way to get light cones of different rarity. As part of each jump, you will be guaranteed to receive a 3-star weapon, and on the 10th spin – a 4-star weapon (or a character), both in the standard and in the event banner.
There's also a special weapon banner, “Sparkling Fixation”, which guarantees a 5-star cone of light on your 80th jump, which has a 75% chance of being an event item.
Echoes of War
Another stable way to get specific 4- and 5-star light cones. As part of it, you have to fight bosses, spending the energy of Exploration. The value of the reward will depend on the difficulty level.
Missions and exploration
For completing some missions Exploration (story), adventure (side) and companion (companions) ) you will be rewarded with 3- and 4-star light cones. To find out which quests you can get weapons for, check out the guides for all types of quests – we usually indicate the rewards for them.
You can also get equipment from some valuable and luxurious chests. You can see the location of these storages on the interactive world map. Plus, they are sometimes given out by Pom-Pom when you level up, and they are sold in souvenir shops in different regions for local currency (or issued as a reward for spending this very currency).
Pom Pom Shop
By jumping, you will receive a special currency – everlasting starlight. It can be used to purchase new Star Passes, Epic Heroes, or Legendary Light Cones. True, the latter are very expensive (600 units), so get ready for a long farm.
The following types of weapons are currently available in the store (it is possible that their list will change with the update of the store assortment that occurs every patch):
- Night on the Milky Way (Erudition)
- Something irreplaceable (Destruction)
- The battle is not over (Harmony)
- In the name of World (Non-Being)
- Moment of Victory (Save)
- Dead Dream (Hunting)
- Time Waits for No One (Abundance)
If we talk about the choice of weapons, then all the cones presented in the store are excellent representatives of their Path. So the first thing to do is buy the ones that match the class of your most used hero. However, some of the most interesting specimens can still be distinguished from them: Night on the Milky Way, Time waits for no one, The battle is not over and Dead man's dream.
Virtual universe (Herta's store)
Passing through different Worlds, you will receive Hertha Bonds, which can be spent in the explorer's shop to purchase star passes, overlays and 5-star light cones:
- About the Fall of Aeon (Destruction) – allows you to significantly increase strength the main damage dealer, increasing his ATK and overall damage.
- Cruise the galaxy (Hunting) – allows you to increase the hero's crits and attack power. Particularly useful when fighting large groups of common mobs.
- Memory Materia (Save) – perfect for characters that you want to turn into thick-skinned tanks.
Don't forget to also buy overlays to enhance light cones mined in the virtual universe with overlay.
Forgotten Hall (Light Cone Passage)
As you progress through the Forgotten Hall levels, you'll earn a special currency, Radiant Light, which you can use to purchase various 4-Star Light Cones from the Emissary's Shop:
- Equivalent Exchange (Abundance)
- Fermata (Non-Being)
- We are Wild Fire (Preservation)
- Spring Streams (Hunting)
- Past and Future (Harmony)
- The Importance of Breakfast (Erudition)
< li>Woof! Walking time! (Destruction)
As for the purchase priority, take those light cones that you already have in your inventory and are used by the heroes – in this way you will be able to greatly strengthen them by imposing. At the same time, the most universal (suitable for most characters of their path) can be considered Spring River Streams (increases the passive parameters important for the damage dealer) and Equivalent Exchange (gives more energy to the team).
Battle Pass (Glory of the Nameless)
If you purchase the Glory of the Nameless (Paid BP version) and upgrade the Battle Pass to level 30, you can choose from seven 4-Star Light Cones to choose from:
- Cold Nights in short, when you are around (Abundance)
- We'll meet again (Nexistence)
- It's me! (Save)
- Back into the Darkness (The Hunt)
- Carve the Moon and Tailor the Clouds (Harmony)
- Nowhere to Run (Destruction)
- Today is also a peaceful day (Erudition)
If you consider that you can only get a weapon once a month, then in order to fully upgrade its passive bonus, you will have to get 4 copies, that is, wait a total of 5 months . Therefore, you will probably be interested to know which of the BP cones is the best.
Even with 5-star Erudite light cones, we still advise you to fully upgrade Today, Too, a Peaceful Day. The fact is that it has the highest base attack among epic weapons and can significantly increase the overall damage of the character without any special conditions (it is enough for the hero to have an expensive ult). Of course, those who often use Erudite fighters should take it.
If you don't have the “Battle is not over” light cone, but you often use Asta, Armor or Tingyun in combat, then we strongly recommend that you first take “Cut the moon and cut the clouds”, which, when fully pumped, can give huge buffs to the entire team .
If you do not have Moment of Victory or First Day of My New Life, but you often use March 7 or Pathfinder (Fire) in battle, then we strongly advise you to take and level first ” It's me!”, which will not only significantly increase your shielder's own defense, but also increase the damage of his ultimate.
How to upgrade light cones
You can enhance any light cone by leveling it up, or through the process of stacking two cards. Below we'll look at both methods.
Level up
It allows you to increase the characteristics of the weapon (HP, attack power and defense). To increase the level, you can use other cones or special materials: rarefied, condensed and purified ethers. These resources can be obtained by clearing Golden Sepals, completing quests, exploring the world, and buying from souvenir shops and Pom Pom.
As with leveling up characters, you can only level up weapons up to a certain limit. After that, you will need to perform his elevation by spending certain materials and loans. The table below shows the level limits.
Ascension Stage | Level |
---|---|
1 | 30 |
2 | 40 |
3 | 50 |
4 | 60 |
5 | 70 |
6 | 80 |
Overlay
< p>This mechanic allows you to increase the passive effect of a weapon by spending its duplicate. To achieve level 5 blending, you need 4 copies of the light cone. In addition, to perform this process with some types of weapons, you will need an Overlay (special order) sold in the Hertha store.
< h2>Light Cones (Abundance)
The table below shows all the light cones of the path of Abundance. We've listed them in order of rarity and descending stats (listed for level 80). The best option is that it should be given to the indicated characters, if available; a good option is the optimal weapon for fighters of the corresponding path; no notation – can be used if there are no alternatives.
