In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the Lion on the Coat of Arms is a secondary quest that is only available to those who pre-ordered the game. As part of it, you will have to solve several riddles from the treasure maps and find all the parts of Bruncvik's armor. In this guide, we will tell you how to start the quest, solve puzzles and find unique armor.

How to start the quest
Access to it opens after completing the story quest “Troski”. After freeing yourself from the shackles near the pillory, go down and chat with the girl in the red outfit standing nearby. Ask her for help and ask where you can get clothes, and one of the options will be related to Bruncvik's armor – she will advise you to talk to scribe Gaibl.
You can find the scribe in the same village – Troskovice. The pictures below show his location. Ask him about the legend of the lord. He will tell you about it, even if you fail persuasion (however, in this case your reputation will fall). He will also tell you the first riddle and give you the recipe for Bruncvik's Polex.
Note: You will be able to forge Bruncvik's Poleaxe yourself, and the corresponding opportunity will fall to you first if you help the blacksmith Radovan during the quest “Uninvited guests at the wedding”. Note that you will be able to get Frankfurt steel in the Cave in Apollonia, when you solve the riddle from the first treasure map (not related to this quest).
We will add that although you can immediately start completing the quest “Lion on the Coat of Arms”, we advise you to first get a shovel, since you will have to dig up treasures. You can buy it from a merchant in Troskovitz (see screenshots below) for 6.8 groschen or steal it from the cemetery to the east of the settlement.
We also recommend getting at least basic weapons and armor, as there is a good chance you will encounter bandits and wolves while searching for armor. Be sure to prepare some saving schnapps and food so you can save and satisfy your hunger. Now you can start completing the quest.
How to solve the first riddle
The riddle goes like this: “… Leave the old woman and the maiden after the gate, and at midnight go, impatient. As soon as you pass between the stone towers, you will find a reward in the cold caves. Further on is the hall of the forest kings, who hide in the canopy from the eyes of people. Two stone guards stand high, and here you will easily find your gift. A deep niche, where shadows reign, there you will kneel before God. If sharp rocks are not an obstacle for you, there you will see the shine of armor.”
In short, you need Roadside Chapelin the rocks, located north of Troskovice Castle. So, first head north from Troskovice to the fortress along the main road, as shown in the images below. After that, keep running north along the path to the forest until you reach a fork near a roadside chapel – turn left here.
Keep running along the road to the northwest until you find yourself in the place shown on the map below. Turn the camera south from the road and start moving into the thicket of the forest, climbing a hill with large stone ledges. Find a crevice in one of the rocks and you will find another roadside chapel with a cross and candles.
Go to the cross and interact with it to move it side. Next, start digging under the cross using a shovel. Eventually, you will find a small chest, inside of which will be:
- Bruncvik's Gloves
- Bruncvik's Dagger
- Good Wine
- Bible Excerpts (Skill Book)
- Groshi x17
- Candles x2
In addition, you will find the Bruncvik I map and the Bruncvik map: a test of faith, thanks to which you will be able to find the remaining parts of the armor. You can examine these documents in the inventory in the “Books” section.
Bruncvik I map (part of the armor near two trees)
The first map points to the wolf hunt, located west of your current location. Return to the road and continue riding west until you reach a fork. Here, turn left and ride south to the next small fork. Here, turn west from the road and go into the forest.
You need to find the Wolf Hunting Place. Be careful, as you will be attacked by a wolf pack of about 4-5 individuals. You will have to defeat these beasts, so make sure you have good equipment and weapons. It may even be worth finding Barbos first, who can help you in battle. Note that you can parry the attacks of the wolves by pressing the block button in time when the green shield icon appears.
Let's add that it is often not necessary to kill all the wolves – having killed two of them and wounded the rest, you will most likely send the whole pack running. Having dealt with them, go to the foot of the ledge where two trees grow, and right between them you will find a pouch.

You'll also get Bruncvik's Map III, which will lead you to the next treasure, but let's deal with the second map first.
Bruncvik's Map: A Test of Faith (Armor Piece by the Crosses on the Rock)
The right place is near another Roadside Chapel, located in the rocks near the western shore of Lake Vidlak. This body of water is located southwest of the wolf hunting ground you visited earlier – just ride along the road in the indicated direction and you will soon reach a wooden bridge.
After crossing the bridge to the other side, start running south along the path. Then climb the rocks on the right side to the point shown in the pictures below. At the top of a small cliff, you will find a roadside chapel and a chest containing new armor pieces.
Inside the chest are: Bruncvik's Plate Bracers, Life-Saving Schnapps, and Bandages x3. Plus, you will find the last Bruncvik card for the Battle Valor Challenge.

Return to Troskovice via fast travel, then run west until you reach the baths and the Zhelejevsky Inn near a small pond. Now head north, crossing the bridge and climbing the hill on the right side. Keep heading north until you see a tree with a skeleton leaning against it.
Take the Knight's Sword from the skeleton's hands and examine the bag next to him to get the Bruncvik Brigantine and food.
Bruntsivka Map for the Trial of Combat Valor (Armor Pieces in the Stone Mound)
Return to the inn, then head southwest to Bozena's hut, which you encountered in the prologue. After that, continue heading west until you reach the Treasure Hunters' Camp. Be prepared for a fight, as you will have to defeat three bandits here.
However, you can wait until night and simply sneak past them to the treasure or stealthily kill them using the previously obtained Bruntsivka dagger. After dealing with the enemies one way or another, approach the cross and explore the mound to receive Bruncvik's Bascinet, the Shrinking Bone, and the Worn Rosary.
Don't forget to also take the golden cup lying next to the dug grave to the left of the mound. Congratulations, you've found all the pieces of Bruncvik's armor. It provides excellent protection for the character, especially in the first half of the game.
