V Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Lucia is a 5-star Support character who uses the Ether attribute. In this guide you can learn about her best build, amplifiers and drive disks, as well as recommended commands with her and banbu.
Main features of Lucia in ZZZ
How to get Lucia
In the first phase of version 2.3, the weirdo Ethereal Watcher appeared in the banner, increasing her drop rate. In the future, the only way to get this enthusiastic fantasy fan is through Signal Search. Unfortunately, HoYoverse only once held an event in which the reward was an event 5-star fighter (Harumasa), so you definitely won’t be able to get this horned young lady for free.

Lucia’s abilities and the priority of pumping them up
Check out information about the heroine’s abilities can be found in the game itself, so we decided not to focus too much attention on it, simply providing dry data with gifs. We recommend that you also read our combat system guide to understand it better.
Information will appear a little later after the heroine's release…
As for leveling up the heroine's talents, the priority should be the makings and special attacks, since the former allow you to increase the buffs she gives, and the latter increase the effect of the “Ethereal Veil: Spring Water” and the through-power bonus attacks. Next in importance are chains of attacks, since her super ability allows her to restore health.
As soon as you maximize these abilities, you can move on to leveling up basic attacks and assistance, since the aftershock multipliers that Lucia will regularly perform depend on them. You can level up dodges last, because most of the time the heroine just sits in your pocket.
Mental picture of Lucia
To open it, you need to accumulate Agent Profiles, issued when duplicates of the heroine appear, which, of course, is random. Given the low chance of getting 5-star characters, you will need to spend a lot of time and money to unlock all the eidos. However, even without them, Lucia can serve as a support without any problems.
The table below shows all eidos, their description and benefit for the heroine.
Name | Bonus | Utility |
---|---|---|
Eidos 1 | Information will appear later. | Information will appear later. |
Eidos 2 | Information will appear later. | Information will appear later. |
Eidos 3 | Level of basic attack, evasion, assistance, special attack, attack chain +2. | Brings average benefit. |
Eidos 4 | Information will appear later. | Information will appear later. |
Eidos 5 | Level of basic attack, evasion, assistance, special attack, attack chain +2. | Brings average benefit. |
Eidos 6 | Information will appear later. | Information will appear later. |
If you still decide to try your luck, then most likely it will be best for you to stop at M1 and M2. In the case when you have a choice between a starting eidos and a signature weapon, we advise you to take the second option, since only with a signature you can be guaranteed to achieve the required HP value in order to maximize the through attack power buff.
How to play as Lucia
Despite the rather confusing descriptions of the abilities, the gameplay for this big-eared eccentric is quite simple and revolves essentially around accumulating and expendingthe Sleepscale. You can gain it in the following ways:
- The heroine receives 60 points at the very beginning of the battle.
- An enhanced special attack gives 60 points.
- The 5th basic hit gives 40 points. Note that its enhanced version (when Lucia is in Sleep mode) pulls enemies.
- Super ability gives 100 points.
- Chain attacks gives 40 points and pulls enemies.
- Assist with an additional attack gives 40 points.
- Quick Assist gives 20 points with a cooldown of 5 seconds.
- Counterattack after dodging gives 20 points with a cooldown of 5 seconds.
- A special attack gives 20 points with a cooldown of 5 seconds.
The maximum you can score is 100 Sleep points. At the same time, it is not at all necessary to use all of the above methods to collect the required amount. We've created an optimal rotation for Lucia, which consists of the following steps:
- Activate an enhanced special attack for 60 sleep points.
- Use a basic attack, immediately moving to the 5th hit and getting another 40 sleep points.
- Having thus accumulated 100 Sleep points, the heroine will immediately go into the “Sleep” state and activate the “Ethereal Veil: Spring Water” effect.
- Then quick help will immediately work, thanks to which you can instantly switch to the main damage dealer. Lucia will begin to perform an aftershock from her pocket every 8 seconds, spending 25 units of Sleep on each of them, that is, after 4 hits her scale will empty again.
After 4 attacks or 32 seconds the bar will empty and you will need to fill it again by performing the above combo. Let us immediately warn you that an enhanced special attack will not give Sleep points while the heroine is in an enhanced state, so we recommend that you do not waste energy in vain, but save it to quickly fill the required scale and activate the “Sleep” mode.
By constantly maintaining Lucia in this state and launching her aftershocks, you will be able to keep all of her active almost all the time buffs, namely:
- Increasing the health of all team members by 5% during battle.
- Increasing the power of a through attack – to achieve the maximum bonus of 900 units, you need to increase Lucia's HP to 24,000 points and fully upgrade her special attacks.
- If there is a Destruction or Intimidation character in the team, critical damage also increases by 30%.
- The total damage increases by 20% with maximum leveling of the Makings.
Regarding the heroine's superpower, then it deals decent damage, but this is not its main feature. The fact is that when the ethereal that Lucia summons collides with an enemy, quick help will be activated, and then a healing zone will appear, and the active character will receive treatment. So we advise you to hold off on your ult and activate it only when the main DD needs healing.
The healing lasts 8 seconds and at the maximum level of the ability is 1.6% of Lucia’s health, that is, every second the active character will restore 384 units to himself (with 24,000 units for Lucia), and over the entire time he will regenerate 3072 units, which is quite good. By the way, if the “patient” suddenly leaves the circle, then the effect of the latter will continue to operate for another 4 seconds, but when changing the character it will immediately disappear.
Let's add that activating the ult immediately gives 100 Sleep points. However, do not be afraid if the heroine is still in a strengthened state, since these 100 points will be given to her immediately after completing Sleep mode, and she will be able to immediately go into it again. All of this information should be enough to get the most out of Lucia.
Lucia's Advantages and Disadvantages
With her unique abilities, the quirky Ethereal lover can be a huge benefit to the team, significantly buffing her allies. Her advantages also include:
- She is an extremely useful support, capable of strengthening any team with the Destruction character, and this heroine will remain relevant for a long time with the introduction of new damage dealers of the corresponding specialization.
- Its buffs are varied (increase the power of through attacks, critical damage, health and overall damage) and are applied to the entire team at once, and not just to one individual character, which is useful if there are secondary damage dealers in the squad.
- Bonuses can be activated without problems by simple rotation and have a significant duration that is easy to extend, so you can easily make them act on throughout the battle.
- With her super ability, she is able to heal the active character, significantly increasing the survivability of the entire squad.
- Can attack enemies from the pocket using aftershocks, and their damage multipliers are very high.
- It is quite easy to assemble, since, in fact, it only needs to increase one parameter – health.
- Spends most of the time in the pocket, giving more time to the main damage dealer.
However, it is still impossible to call Lucia an ideal character, since she also has her own disadvantages:
- Although she has some general bonuses that allow her to be used with other damage dealers, for example, Attack, she can realize her maximum potential only with Destruction characters, so in their absence it is not recommended to knock her out.
- To get maximum buffs, you need to increase her health to 24,000, which can be incredibly difficult. Unfortunately, without her signature amplifier, this will not be possible, which F2P players will probably not like.
Best build for Lucia
Best amplifiers
We recommend choosing a weapon that can increase energy recovery and health, as well as provide additional buffs for allies. The table below presents the most interesting options.
Name | Characteristics | Ability and benefit |
---|---|---|
Hearth of Dreams | Base attack: 48-713 HP: 12-30% | Accelerates the owner's energy recovery by 0.5-0.8 units per second. When activated or extended by the wearer of the Ethereal Veil, all characters in the team deal 20-32% more damage for 30 seconds, and their maximum health increases by 12-24%. When triggered again, the duration of the buffs is reset. A signature for Lucia, which makes it much easier for her to accumulate energy, allowing her to quickly use an enhanced special attack to gain Sleep points, and also gives fat bonuses for her allies, fitting perfectly into the heroine’s rotation. Plus, only with this amplifier you can be guaranteed to gain 24,000 HP units. |
Stylish little thing | Base attack: 713 Attack power: 30% | When any team member enters the battlefield as a result of Quick Assist, Attack Chain, Evasion Assist, or Defense, the wearer gains 5 Energy. This effect can trigger once every 5 seconds. When the owner spends 25 or more energy, the damage done by all party members increases by 10%. The bonus stacks up to 2 times and lasts 15 seconds. Repeated activations extend the duration of the buff. Similar effects do not stack. Lucia's attack power is useless as it doesn't allow for buffs and doesn't even contribute to the damage of her aftershocks. But she will need a weapon ability, which will make it easier to gain energy and give a good buff to her allies. There should be no problems with activating the passive, since you will often use Quick Assist and waste energy. |
The Cradle of Weeping | Base attack: 46-684 Penetration chance: 9.6-24% | An agent with this item restores energy by 0.6-1.2 units/sec. faster. When an agent with this item hits an enemy, all squad members deal 10-20% more damage to that target for 3 sec. While the effect is active, its value increases additionally by 1.7-3.3% every 0.5 sec. The maximum additional increase is 10.2-19.8%. Restarting the effect refreshes the duration of the effect itself, but not the increase in its damage. Identical passive effects do not stack. A good alternative to the previous option. Although Lucia’s chance of penetration in general is not very important, she will benefit from energy restoration, which will make it easier to gain Sleep points. Plus, you'll get an extra buff that works best when fighting strong single opponents. |
Ball for playing without rules | Basic attack: 40-594 Energy recovery: 20-50% | If an agent's attack with this item causes a counterattack with the attribute, the critical chance. hits for all squad members increases by 12-20% for 12 seconds. Identical passive effects do not stack. Thanks to Lucia's aftershocks, which fire every 8 seconds, the crit buff. chance will work almost always, significantly increasing the damage of allies, given that the heroine herself increases crit. damage. But against enemies with resistance to ethereal damage, it will perform noticeably worse. Plus, you can only get it in a paid battle pass. |
Boom gun | Base attack: 42-624 Energy recovery: 20-50% | When an attack from an ally on a squad (agent or other creature) hits an enemy, the attack power of the entire squad increases by 2.5-4%, the effect stacks up to level 4, lasts 8 sec. The duration of each effect level is calculated separately. Each ally gives only 1 level. positive effect. Identical passive effects do not stack. Solves a possible problem with the lack of energy for Lucia and gives a good buff to attack power (will be useful for Destruction characters) up to 16%, and it lasts quite a long time when compared with other 4-star amplifiers. |
Frame for memory | Basic attack: 40-594 Chance of penetration: 8-20% | Activating a counterattack after a dodge, enhanced special attack, attack assist, or chain of attacks gives an additional 20-55 decibels and restores 0.7-1.1 units to the agent with this item. energy. Fires once every 12 seconds. Rollback time for different types of attacks is calculated separately. The same passive effects do not stack. You will be able to activate your ultimate more often, and therefore heal your allies more, and also receive enough energy to quickly earn Sleep points. The chance of penetration, again, of Lucia is not very important. |
Treasure Chest | Base attack: 42-624 Energy recovery: 20-50% | When an agent equipped with this item deals Ethereal damage with an empowered Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate, all party members deal 15-24% more damage to the target. The energy recovery of an agent with this item increases by 0.5-0.8 units. energy/sec. for 2 sec. The same passive effects do not stack. Completely provides Lucia with energy, allowing her to easily activate the enhanced E-shka when she needs to gain Sleep points, and gives a good bonus to the team, which will be especially good when fighting strong single enemies. |
Reverb III | Base attack: 32-475 HP: 8-20%  | After launching a chain of attacks or a super ability, the attack power of all squad members increases by 8-12% for 10 sec. Fires no more than once every 20 seconds. Identical passive effects do not stack. The only amplifier, in addition to the signature, that increases the heroine’s health, making it easier to gain 24,000 units. Plus, it gives a nice buff to the team. So you can use it as a temporary option. |
Best drive discs
As with weapons, we recommend choosing options that increase health and energy recovery, as well as provide additional bonuses to the team. The table below shows the best kit options for this heroine.
Name | Bonuses | Benefits |
---|---|---|
Lunar Lullaby | 2 parts: Accelerates energy recovery by 20%. 4 parts: When a Support agent launches an enhanced special attack or super ability, the damage of all team members increases by 18% for 25 seconds. In case of repeated launches, the duration of the buff is updated. Passive effects of the same name do not stack. | The optimal set for Lucia, which allows her to easily activate the enhanced E-shka when she needs to start gaining Sleep points, and at the same time gives a good buff for the whole team. We recommend combining it with Yunkui Tales (to achieve the desired HP value) or Swing Jazz (if there is still a lack of energy). |
Swing Jazz | 2 parts: Increases energy recovery by 20%. 4 parts: After activating a chain of attacks or a super ability, all team members deal 15% more damage for 12 seconds. Identical passive effects do not stack. | Provides the necessary energy and increases the overall damage of the squad. However, the team must have an Intimidate character so that you can perform a chain of attacks more often and activate the bonus, but even in this case it will be lower than that of the previous set. We recommend combining it with Yunkui Tales (to achieve the desired HP value) or Moon Lullaby (if there is still a lack of energy). |
As for the main characteristics of drive disks, then your selection should look like this:
- IV-sector: HP.
- V-sector: HP.
- VI-sector: HP or energy restoration (if there is an acute shortage of energy and at the same time you were able to already get the required health indicator).
Substats: HP% > HP> crits
If we talk about the recommended values for Lucia’s parameters, they should look something like this:
- Health: 24,000 units
- Defense: 800+ units
- Attack: base value
- Energy recovery: 30%+
As we noted above, Lucia has very good multipliers for aftershocks, so she can well cause significant damage with them if she pumps up the damage. For this reason, if you managed to reach an HP value of 24,000 units with little blood, that is, using the signature and other buffs, then you can sacrifice one or two sectors of the drive disks for other stats. For example, a 4-sector can be taken for a crit. damage or crit chance, and the 5th for bonus ethereal damage.
Best commands for Lucia
F2P commands
Main-DD | Sub-DD | Support | Banbu |
---|---|---|---|
Manato | Lucia | Pan Yinhu (Pulhra) | Knight (Packager, Beelzeb) |
Manato will be the optimal choice in budget builds, as he belongs to the Destruction specialization and will be extremely grateful not only to Lucia’s buffs, but also to her healing ult. For the 3rd slot you can take either a good stunner in the person of Pulhra, or another support – Pan Yinhu, who also increases the power of a through attack and can heal.
Premium teams
Main-DD | Sub-DD | Support | Banbu |
---|---|---|---|
Yixuan | Ju Fufu (Trigger, Pulhra) | Lucia | Lion (Mistress Esme) |
Yixuan | Astra Yao (Pan Yinhu) | Lucia | Lion (Mistress Esme) |
Yidhari | Ju Fufu (Trigger, Pulhra) | Lucia | Lion (Mistress Esme) |
Yidhari | Astra Yao (Pan Yinhu) | Lucia | Lady Esme (Lion) |
Unfortunately, at the moment there are quite a few legendary characters of Destruction in the game, so to the maximum Lucia can only strengthen two damage dealers – Yixuan and Yidhari, who combine perfectly with the eared fantasy. For the 3rd slot, you can again take either an Intimidating character who can hit from the pocket (Gashetka or Pulkhra), or a second support (Astra Yao or Pan Yinhu). Both options are viable.
