In Zenless Zone Zero, Mechanical Love is an exploration mission and part of the quest chain “Call from the Depths of the Cavern?..”. During it, you will have to help the Belobog team return the mining machine and defeat Gretel. If you have difficulties completing the task, then study our guide.

How to start the quest
During the quest “Call from the Depths of the Cavern?..” you will need to talk to Grace to receive a second order from the Belobog construction company. After talking with Kolyada, return to your home by car, and then interact with the HDD system and find the corresponding task in the “Main Line”.
The game will advise you to take ice and electric characters of at least level 24. However, the Trial mode will be activated here, allowing you to play for already upgraded heroes, even if they are not in your collection. In this mission you will be able to try out Grace, Kolyada and Ben.
How to return the mining machine
After talking with your employers (you can choose any answers) you will find yourself on the playing field. Climb up, turn left and fight the monster standing in front of the first data packet. In this battle you will have to deal with a group of ordinary ethereals who are unlikely to cause you problems.
Once back, go up and left to grab the gold suitcase, then go right to the sixlings. A monster will follow you, and you will receive a Cross Blast from Grace, which will allow you to place bombs (you can place a total of 5 explosives). After collecting coins, engage in battle with the monster. In the combat test you will need to deal with another group of ordinary ethereals. We advise you to destroy the plasma targets first.
Next, go back upstairs and collect all the sixlings in the area. Note that it is not necessary to fight the monster – you can place a bomb next to it (R key) to kill it. However, place it so that the explosion does not destroy the coins (the screenshot below shows a suitable place).
Now go down and stand on the cage with the metal press so that it takes you to the left to the cage with the observation zone. This will open up a new path that will allow you to bypass the gate and collect the surveillance data package. Next, go upstairs and stand on the square with the letters “Z”.
You will be transported to another map. Go down and place a bomb in front of the monster to blow it up, and then pick up the second data packet. Next, go even lower and stand on the observation zone. Having unlocked a new area, stand above the enemy, and then start walking towards the suitcase without getting caught by the monster.
After collecting the money, go upstairs to the red button and stand on it. A new road will open leading to the recreation area (green cells). Along the way, collect the purple suitcases and stand on the second red button. As a result, the monster will not be able to follow you. Collect all the heals, then watch Grace create a passage with an explosion.
Stand on any cell with a funnel to be transported to an area with a tunnel by car. Collect ether drops on the right, and then go to the area with the boss and watch a short video with him.
How to defeat Gretel
We are talking about a special enemy who is vulnerable to electrical damage and has resistance to physical attacks. This enemy stands in one place almost all the time, so you can’t exactly call him mobile, but he has a huge health bar, so it will take you a long time to beat him.
Gretel will mainly attack you with her huge saw mounted in front and her legs (if you are standing near them). If you see a golden cross-shaped halo, you can try to perform a perfect assist (if you have enough assist points) or a perfect dodge and then counterattack the enemy.
If you stand to the side of the boss and see how he turns the saw horizontally, we advise you to run away from him, as soon the enemy will perform a spinning attack, which is quite difficult to dodge.
Try to attack Gretel with Grace's attacks as often as possible to Shock her and immobilize her for a while. At this point, use a chain of attacks (choose Banbu at the end) and your super if it's ready to deal maximum damage.
After dealing with the enemy, look at the final comic. This will be the end of the test. If you followed our instructions, you will receive an “S” grade and the maximum reward: 450 Internot credits, 60 polychromes, 20.6 thousand dennies and a lot of materials for leveling up.
