Mr. Double Bass in Honkai: Star Rail is a hidden mini-quest in Penaconia. In it you have to help the Radiant Shpat music group find a singer who would attract new listeners. By completing this task, you will be able to get the achievement “A Star is Born”, and will also get the opportunity to listen to new tunes on the ship.

Talk to Mr. Double bass
Access to the achievement opens after completing the story chapter “Farewell Penaconia”.
Teleport to the Divergent Universe on the ship “Radiant Spar” (if you completed the quest “Hearts in the Clouds”, the ship will have the name you choose yourself) and go through any of the northern doors.
Go to the stage and talk to Mr. Double Bass. He will complain that due to the lack of new tunes, no one is coming to listen to music, and will ask you to find an artist who could help bring back the old audience and attract new ones.
Next, you may have several answer options. We'll look at each of them and tell you what to do if you don't have one.
Cocoon
The first answer option will be “I know a singer, her name is Cocona…” If you do not have such a line, you either did not complete the quest “Imagine the Coming Rose”, or you reached the bad ending, in which the girl left Penaconia. In the first case, you still have the opportunity to invite the singer – complete the task and get a good ending by taking Cocona by the hand. If Kokona jumped from the roof in your playthrough, you won’t be able to see her again, but you can still get the achievement.
The Lady in the Dreamstream Reef
In the line “I came across a lady in the Reef of the Dream Stream…” we are talking about Galatea. The singer can be found on the 2nd floor of the Dreamstream Reef, next to Doctor Azure's large nest.
It is not necessary to talk to the girl, you just need to see her or pass near her to have the opportunity to propose her candidacy to Mr. Contrabass. Unlike Cocona, it is impossible to get the achievement without Galatea's performance.

Choosing the line “Let's see if the notes you need…” will not bring you any closer to getting the achievement, however, it will allow you to turn on one of 4 melodies:
- The Midnight Special
- Hi, Dolly!
- Stranger Than Paradise
- Signature tune

Apparently, the achievement is awarded when you watch the performances of both singers (in case Cocona has not left Penaconia). In addition, after receiving the achievement, you will be able to invite Galatea to sing again, but the option with Cocona will disappear.

Awards
The achievement belongs to the “Our Memories” set and gives 5 Star Jades. As we already mentioned, you will also get the opportunity to choose the music that will be played on the ship.
