In Silent Hill 2 Remake, while exploring the Lakeview Hotel, you can find a puzzle with a music box, to solve which you need to find figurines of the Little Mermaid, Cinderella, and Snow White in different corners of the hotel. Then you need to place them correctly to get the key to the corridor of the 3rd floor. In this guide, we will tell you in detail how to do this.
Where to find all the figurines in the hotel in Silent Hill 2 Remake
Note that you will come across a music box immediately after visiting the lobby on the 1st floor of the hotel. It is the main riddle of the location. Initially, it will be locked, so the first thing you will need to do is open it by taking the Ornamented Key from the reception desk located slightly ahead. The key is hanging on a hook directly opposite the save point.
Return to the box and open it with the key you received. You will find that three items are missing from it. We are talking about special figurines: the Little Mermaid, Cinderella and Snow White, which can be found on different floors of the hotel. Below we will tell you in detail how to find them. Note that obtaining all the figurines is associated with other riddles, which we will simply provide links to.
How to find Snow White
If you haven't been to the Lake Shore Restaurant yet, head there to watch a cutscene with Laura. Once it's done, the girl will open the entrance to the east side of the 1st floor. Next, you'll need to find the broken mirror puzzle in room 202 and solve it. We've covered how to do this in detail in a separate guide.
After collecting all the fragments and placing a ripe or rotten apple on the saucer, go to apartment number 201 to find a Snow White figurine on a small table in the center of the room.
How to find Cinderella
It is hidden inside the fireplace located in the conference room on the 3rd floor. However, the fireplace will be locked, so you will first have to find the key to it, which is located in the secret part of the garden in the gazebo. The pictures below show the corresponding locations, but you can read more about this in our guide on opening the suitcase.
Note that as soon as you take Cinderella from the fireplace, you will immediately be attacked by the boss, so before taking the figurine, we advise you to restore health to maximum and reload all your weapons.
How to Find the Little Mermaid
After finding the previous figurine, complete the suitcase puzzle to get the key to the service elevator. Then ride it down to the previously locked area of the 1st floor and unlock the safe there (code 7414) to get the Basement Key. We have described in detail how to do this in a separate article.
While in the same service floor, go to the door leading to the stairs to the basement and open it (there is a red sign above it saying “Exit”) with the key you found. Go down the stairs and open the door to get into the basement.
Then immediately run to the repair room, located in the south, to find there Pump valve, lying on the repair table. Now go to the drinks warehouse and crawl through the hole in the wall to get to the corridor, where you will find a pipe from which steam is escaping. Screw the valve to the pipe and turn it in order to unblock the passage.
Next, take the valve from the pipe and go through the opened passage. Inside the boiler room, go to the red pipe and pick up the key to the “Tears of Venus” bar from it. Exit the room, immediately turn left and open the door to the kitchen with the key found earlier.
You will find another pipe with steam inside. Insert the same valve into it and turn it to unlock the entrance to the bar. After entering the new room, go to the jukebox and pick up the Little Mermaid figurine on the floor next to it. There is also a save point in this room.
Solving the Music Box Puzzle
After finding all the figurines, return to the box on the first floor and interact with it. Next, correctly place the figurines on the disks: place the Little Mermaid in the top slot, Cinderella in the right slot, and Snow White in the left slot, as shown in the picture below.
Next, you will need to start rotating the disks so that the lines along which the figures will move lead to the doors. Note that you can rotate not only the outer, but also one inner disk. The picture below shows the correct option.

Next you will see three switches and three riddles that give you clues as to how many times you need to turn each switch to solve the puzzle. The number of turns will depend on the difficulty level you have chosen:
- On the easy difficulty (from left to right): 7 times, 2 times, and 1 time.
- On normal difficulty (from left to right): 7 times, 5 times, and 1 time.
- On hard difficulty (from left to right): 1 time, 1 time, and 1 time.
If you do everything correctly, the doors will open and the figurines will be able to enter the passages that appear, which will lead to the completion of the riddle. As a reward, you will receive the Key to the corridor (3rd floor).
