When Hinako returns to her family's house, the air there seems to be saturated with the past β familiar rooms seem alien, photographs look judgmental, and monsters are constantly scratching in the rooms. But behind this lies three key mysteries, on which further progress in the plot ofSilent Hill fdepends.. Below is a detailed guide to all the puzzles in the Shimizu house, from the ominous shots to the final castle in Hinako's bedroom.
Wandering through the dark corridors of the Shimizu family house, you will definitely come across a locked door, into which you need to bring hexagons and solve a riddle, the rules of which are indicated on a scroll on the wall. To find the hexagons, you need to both look at Hinako's memories in alternative versions of the house, and solve other puzzles: bring and hang a photo correctly and place objects on the scales.
Riddle with an ominous photo
The photo room is located on the first floor of the Shimizu Family House I map, north of the kitchen. On the walls are pictures of Hinako's family and her friends. But someone removed the portrait of Hinako herself, and the group photo was ruined β faces were crossed out, the ink spread, leaving smeared spots.
To solve the riddle, you need to find the missing photo on the map. Shimizu Family House II β on the right side of the house, in the storage room at the end of the corridor, if you run from the shrine. Returning back to the Shimizu Family House I, set the photo in place and you are ready to begin.
Solution for each ending
Look at the group photo and note who is crossed out in it. Then turn over all the pictures of those whose faces are crossed out. When the last upside-down photo is face down, a frame will fall from the wall, and behind it you will find the White Bird Plate, needed to solve the main puzzle.
- 1 ending (1 passage on any difficulty, Home to your native nest): turn over the photo of Hinako
- 2 ending(Fox Wedding): flip the photo of Hinako and her parents
- Ending 3(The fox got his tail wet): flip the photo of Rinko, Shu and Sakuko
- Ending 4(Silence in Ebisugaoka): flip all the photos except Hinako
Riddle with scales
The next test awaits in the western part of the Shimizu family house II, in the old children's room, which is located in the upper left part of the house, opposite the kitchen. On the table is a toy familiar to Hinako with miniature scales and five dolls.
There is a note pinned to the wall: βIβm always alone, so I donβt mind playing alone. This means that the right and left scales are always at my disposal. I really love playing with kokeshi dolls. I always try to share with the left Hinako and the right Hinako to be fair to both of them!β
Your task is to balance the scales by arranging the dolls so that both sides are in balance. The weight of each doll depends on the chosen ending, so the solution may vary.Β
Solution for each ending
- 1 ending (1 passage on any difficulty, Home to your native nest): the headless doll is on one bowl, the other four are on the other
- 2 ending(Fox wedding): the old man's doll, the fox doll and the Hinako doll are on one bowl, the headless doll and the doll with half a mask are on the other
- 3rd ending (The fox wet its tail): the Hinako doll and the doll with half a mask are on one, the rest are on the other
- 4th ending (Silence in Ebisugaoka): the Hinako doll is on one bowl, the rest are on the other
When balance is achieved, a drawer will open at the base of the toy, containing a Plate with scales β another important hexagon for the main test. Also, after activating the box, a monster will appear in the room, be careful.
My Room Riddle
The last step in Shimizu's house is the lock on the door of Hinako's room. It will only open when you collect all three plates:
- Plate with a white bird β from the photo puzzle
- Plate with scales β from scales
- Plate with a black bird β Shimizu Family House III (via a chain with wax, propane and Bird Key)
- The fourth plate is already installed
When all the plates are in place, carefully examine the scroll next to the door β it will tell you the correct location of the hexagons. The solution depends on the ending, but the general principle is to arrange the symbols according to the poem from the scroll.
Once placed correctly, the door will open, triggering a scene associated with the selected storyline, and allowing you to pick up the Pine Tree Emblem.
Solution for each ending
- 1 ending (1 passage on any difficulty, Home to your native nest): top β heaven, left β swords, right β fox, bottom β emptiness (inverted scales)
- 2nd ending (Fox wedding): top β fox, left β scales, right β black bird, bottom β emptiness (inverted heaven)
- 3rd ending (The fox wet its tail): top β swords, left β white bird, right β scales, bottom β emptiness (inverted heaven)
- 4 ending (Silence in Ebisugaoka): top β emptiness (inverted scales), left β white bird, right β black bird, bottom β heaven
After watching the cutscene, pick up the Pine Tree Emblem and run to the red-lit door to enter the boss fight.
The Shimizu family house is not just a place where ghosts of the past live. This is a labyrinth of memories, where every doll and every scratch in the photo reminds of the pain that Hinako is trying to reflect on. By solving these puzzles, you don't just open doors, but you can see fragments of the heroine's past.Β
