In Honkai: Star RailO Curtain of Night, Hide the Silent Past is a Reclamation mission and part of the Tales of Flamechasing Heroes quest chain, in which you must balance the scales using the appropriate weights. How to Start the Quest
It starts automatically immediately after completing the previous quest in the chain called “Oh, desolate land, remember the glory of the past.” So just open your journal, find the corresponding mission and start tracking it. If this does not happen, try logging out, waiting 20-30 minutes and logging back in.
Head to the Pool of Fate
Teleport to the anchor “Chalice of Heroes” in Ochem and approach Aglaya, who is standing next to Dan Heng and Kastoria. Chat with her. Then head to the Path of Separation, which is located in the southernmost part of the location. If you haven't opened this area yet, then teleport to the point “Kephalus Square”, then turn around and run to the right.
Go forward until you see Tribby in the center of the road. Talk to her – she will transfer you to another location called the Pool of Fate of Janusopolis and give you the Mark of the Priest of Janus so that we can pass through the Gate of Infinity unharmed. After the conversation, go up the stairs and go to the ruined temple.
How to change time and space
Go to the quest marker near the broken columns and listen to Kastoria. Then stand next to the broken object and hold the space bar to remove the obstacle from your path. Next, you will see a rift – hold the space bar again to recreate the bridge.
Cross the bridge and interact with the Book of Wonders to travel to another reality (Dawn). You will be able to change the time in the location, thereby opening up access to new passages and objects.
How to Open a Gate Using the Orb of Wonders
So, while in the Dawn space, walk forward along the bridge and interact with the door, which will be locked. You will learn that the doors with the sun pattern only open during the day, and the moon – at night. If it glows yellow, then you can open it, and if it glows white, then you can't. In this particular case, the passage opens only at night.
Turn around and go to the left side where the sphere of miracles is. Stand near the blue rune and press “Clean” to remove the pollution. Now interact with the ball and activate it by pressing the “R” key.
Next, go to the Book of Wonders again and click on it to return time to Night. As a result, the bridge will remain thanks to the sphere, and the door ahead will be open – go through it. You will find yourself outside the building.
Go to the Temple of the Three Titans of Fate
Go to the secret path and step on it without changing direction. Then solve another puzzle with the formation of a clear pattern on the screen by moving the mouse to the left. The gif below shows the corresponding process.
Once on the other side, approach the huge doors ahead and watch a new cutscene. After opening the gate, continue moving forward, following the marker. You will find yourself in a spacious hall. Go to the signpost and listen to your friends. You will see the Scales of Justice, which you will have to balance.
Use the Book of Miracles to Fix the Scales
Important: In this segment, many players had problems with the correct display of objects and the sequence of solving the puzzle. The reason lies in the use of various mods (for example, opening the entire map) or the occurrence of rare bugs. If in your case the location does not look like ours, then remove all third-party modifications and reload the area. If the error occurs again, write to technical support.
First, go to the Book of Wonders in front of the scale and interact with it to change the space to Dawn. Talk to your friends and read the instructions – you will need to use the Hand of Zagreus to find weights and place them on the right side of the scale to balance them.
Go to the left side of the location, restore the bridge with the Prayer of Oronis (hold the “Space” key) and go to the other side. Interact with the control console to take control of Zagreus' hand. Next, you will need to take the stone ball lying in the recess on the right and lower it onto the scale on the left. However, you will not be able to solve the riddle.
Now lift the pyramid, which is in the recess on the left side of the hall, and release it onto the scales. The capricious titan will not like this answer either. However, you will notice a weight behind the bars and decide to get to it.
How to get a weight behind bars
Turn right and go down the broken bridge, then interact with the Orb of Wonders on the left. Activate it (press “R”), then aim it at the boxes on the right as shown in the picture below to remove the boxes. Now you can exit device control mode and go up.
Fighting enemies along the way is optional. Once again, we note that all these manipulations must be carried out when space and time are set to Dawn (day), that is, the quest will not progress at Night. Once again, we remind you that you can change the state of the location using the book of miracles.
Solving the Prophecy Plate Puzzle
After reaching the top, approach the locked grate and interact with the floating Prophecy Plate to begin solving the corresponding puzzle. To do so, follow these steps:
- Place the large triangle on the two small triangles in the center of the picture.
- Then take the right middle triangle and cover the small triangle remaining at the bottom with it.
- Finally, select the left middle triangle and place it on top of the large triangle.

How to Use Weights to Balance the Scales
After solving the riddle, interact with the console behind you to regain control of Zagrain's arm. Lower it a bit and take the weight from the room that opens. Then place it on the scales – they will balance out, but the titan will still be unhappy.
Turn right and go to the quest marker. You will need to decide what to put on the scale – you can choose any option, since you will still try all the versions. At the end, Dan Heng will suggest putting the March 7 camera on the scale, which will lead to passing the test.
Go meet Oronis
Go down the stairs, then turn right and interact with the Book of Wonders here to change the time to Night and remove the boxes from your path. Go up the steps and through the door that opens. Then start going down to the round area.
Listen to the dialogue between Phaenon and Oronis. Then accept her invitation, the Titan of Time will want to study your past.
How to Investigate Memory Fragments
You will find yourself on the Star Train, where you will be viewing non-existent memories. Go to the bar and listen to the conversation. Suddenly, Himeko and Dan Heng will turn into Kafka and Blade. Then proceed to the next scene, where you will find Firefly. It looks like you're part of the Stellaron Hunters.
Next, go to the Common Car and chat with Firefly, Silver Wolf, Kafka, and Blade. They will act very strangely and will not be able to answer any of our questions. Watch a short cutscene, after which you will meet Memo. Then you will be attacked by the Antimatter Legion fighters and the battle will begin.
You will be given control of the Pathfinder (Memory), where you will be taught how to play him. Just follow the instructions on the screen. The rest of the team will be well-leveled, so you should have no problems destroying opponents. In addition, Silver Wolf will help you in battle (use her skill by pressing the button on the right side of the screen).
Which of the Stellaron Hunters to choose for farewell
When the battle is over, you will talk to Memo again. Next, you will need to decide which of the two girls to say goodbye to – Firefly or Kafka. Your choice will affect the achievement given at the end and the conversation, that is, the rest of the rewards and the ending of the quest will not change. Below we will consider both options.
- If you choose Firefly, she will note that this is not the first time we have met her, and she is sad that we have forgotten her. However, the next time we meet, she will pretend not to know us, so that our adventures can start over. Thus, we can assume that our meeting with Firefly on Penakonia was far from the first. At the end of the quest, you will unlock the achievement «Glimmer in a Bottle».
- If you choose Kafka, she will also congratulate us on finishing another scenario, and then she will understand that we have forgotten everything, but she will ask us not to be upset about this, since although the Pathfinder has lost his past, many interesting and dangerous adventures await him in the future. The girl will also note that she will always be ready to shelter him and protect him. At the end of the quest, you will unlock the achievement “Floating Web”.
After saying goodbye, you will unlock a new path for the Pathfinder – Memory with ice damage. Then you will return back – chat with Dan Heng and tell him about what happened. After learning how to defeat Nicador with Memo, you will return to Ojema. This will be the end of the quest.
As a reward, you will receive 1000 Mastery Points, 130 Star Jades, 110 thousand Credits, 200 Celestial Ambrosia, 8 Traveler's Guides, 8 Refined Ether, and a Memory Light Cone “Emergency Victory”. Plus, you will have access to the next quest “Oh Kremnos, Wash Away the Rust of Blood I”.
