In The Forge (Forging)you can be anyone – a master of combat or just a person who loves to listen to how a stone crunches under the blow of a pickaxe. But if you want to forge decent equipment, it’s better to understand the ore system once. There are a lot of them in the game, and each zone adds its own rules, rarities and even special properties.
How ore mining works in The Forge
To get ore, you hit a stone with a pickaxe, but stone is different from stone. In Stonewake's Cross these will be ordinary boulders, but in Forgotten Kingdom you will already encounter basalt cores and volcanic blocks, the extraction of which is much more difficult. In addition, some of the ore falls from enemies, so sometimes farming turns not into mining, but into pure hunting for mobs.

The mining process itself depends on your luck, the type of pickaxe and the rarity of the ore in a particular stone.
Stonewake Cross
Here are Pebble (cobblestone), Rock (rock) and Boulder (boulder) – three types of stones that drop the most basic materials. They are needed for the first recipes, leveling up and gradual transition to places where there will be more varied ore.

What is found here: You will regularly pick up stone, copper and iron. Sometimes – tin or silver. And if you're a little luckier, gold, platinum and even Aite will appear.
Stonewake Cross is the perfect place to hone your mining pace and understand which rocks are hiding what.
The Forgotten Realm
As you level up and complete the introductory quests, the Forgotten Realm opens and the loot changes the mood dramatically. Here you can find basalt veins, cores and volcanic stones, which break down slowly, but contain the rarest finds.

What you can find: the real stuff begins here jewelry: titanium, cobalt, lapis lazuli, amethysts, topazes, rubies, sapphires. And somewhere deeper in the depths hide epics and legendaries.
Goblin Cave
When you first descend into Goblin Cave, the atmosphere immediately changes. It is darker, cramped and noticeably more dangerous here, and the stones become denser and come across less frequently. Unlike quiet mining in the starting area, here you are already competing not only with the probabilities of ore drops, but also with enemies who themselves are not averse to crushing you.

What is found here:The Goblin Cave is valuable because it provides stable access to more advanced metals and crystals. Depending on your level and route in the cave, you can mine:
- Dark stone, which is often used in mid-level crafts.
- Improved varieties of copper and iron.
- Rare minerals that drop in small batches with a good chance.
- Crystals.
Goblins sometimes also drop ore, so that clearing corridors can work almost as efficiently as direct mining.

Ore Properties
Each type of ore can have its own properties that affect how the crafted weapon or tool will work.
Usually there are properties that enhance:
- Damage
- Speed
- Item durability
- Critical hit chance
- Loot bonuses
- Magic effects

Traits do not always appear, but if you ignore them, then you end up spending much more resources than a player who collects the necessary materials point by point. Sometimes an uncommon ore with a rare trait can replace five common materials in total, especially in the early game.
Now you know which ores are worth your time, where they are mined, and how to get the most out of every mine foray. The rest is a matter of practice. Think over the route, prepare a pickaxe and gradually improve your equipment.
