In God of War Ragnarok, the Path of the Dead is a quest to find and defeat the Corpse Eater, for killing which is given immediately by two claws of the dragon. In this guide, we will tell you how to start this side quest, as well as find the lair of the lizard and defeat it.

How to start the quest
< p>First of all, go through the story mission called “Beasts of Prophecy”. When you visit Vanaheim again, you will be given a side quest “The Smell of Survival”, which will lead you to a new area – the Crater. Then move to its northwestern part and interact with the Sky Altar to change day to night.
Now move south of the Plains to find a passage to the Jungle as shown in the two screenshots below. Move to the southwestern part of the location until you reach the dam, where you will receive the “Return of the River” request. Pass it so that the water returns to the river.
Next, go forward a little (the exact location is shown in the pictures below), and soon you will see a dragon flying past. Immediately after that, the mission you need starts.
How to get to the dragon's feeding place
Sail down the river, ignoring the first coast on the right side, and swim past the high ground.
Then swim through the small tunnel to the east and get to the nearest dock.
Get out on land and climb through the crack in the wall. As a result, you will encounter two ogres. Deal with them and watch the cut-scene with the appearance of the dragon. By the way, in this location above the red chest you can shoot down Odin's raven.
Cross the bridge and follow the main path until you find the boat again – get in it.
Sail to the shore that you have previously ignored. Deal with the werewolves and go to the chest with runes. To open it, you need to find and knock down three totems located nearby.
Then climb the wall and use the capture point to get to the upper level of the region.
Use runic arrows and blades of chaos to destroy the red shoots. Keep moving on. Soon you will find a legendary chest ahead.
After opening it, go along the main road without turning anywhere, and then climb the wall (now you can do this, so how the ogres were killed). Climbing upstairs, engage in a fight with the dragon Corpse Eater.
How to kill the Corpse Eater Dragon
This blue lizard uses many biting attacks in melee combat (some of them can be blocked, and others can only be evaded), and in the far – exhales ice. The boss can also perform a grapple attack, which can be escaped by holding the cross button.
However, the enemy will mainly use ice attacks against you: shoot ice projectiles (they cannot be blocked when flapping wings) and release an ice beam flying over you. You can easily dodge them by jumping to the side in time.
During the course of the fight, the boss will take to the skies several times to swoop down on you and grab or fire ice flames. When he flies near Kratos, try to shoot him with a spear to knock him out. As a result, you will be able to hit him with impunity for 5-10 seconds. It is at this moment that we recommend using all your runic attacks and abilities to inflict maximum damage.
When the dragon is low on health, it will grab you with its claws and lift you into the air – at this point you need to quickly hit it by pressing R2 or R1. After lowering the scale of the Corpse Eater to zero, approach him, press R3 and finish off the monster.
After defeating the boss request will come to an end. As a reward, you will receive 3000 experience points for Kratos, 750 experience points for Atreus and 2 dragon claws.
